View Full Version : One of my favorite Wrestlemania memories

I often forget about it, but I just saw it and realized how great it truly was. At Wrestlemania XX, when Brock had announced days earlier that after all he was given, he would be up and leaving the WWE. In the wake of the years biggest event, before one of the most anticipated matches, the companies golden boy of the future straight up decides to walk out on the company they built everything on him and the fans.
So what makes it great, the fans giving it to him. Getting deafening sell out chants and the classic "nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey gooodbye" chants. It was awesome to see him stand there and get shit on by a capacity crowd in MSG. What makes it so good is the smark interaction there. In years past this never would have happened, but it was great.
It kind of symbolized what Wrestlemania is now. It's really the one show a year where the company and its wrestlers have to face the jury so to speak. With tickets selling out 6 months before, and fans travelling from all over to this event, its comprised of mostly diehards and smarks. Unlike normal events that come through town and sell local tickets, it marks one of the only shows a year where its probably made up of 90% IWC type fans. So when this show comes once a year, its time for the shit to the hit the fan. It was great seeing Cena shit on at 22.
just a thought, loved when this happened and I hope it continues to happen in the future. discuss.

When Eddie and Benoit hugged at the end of WMXX, it was quite the moment. Still remember it quite well.

Pretty ROFL. A super heel comes out after your super face wins a hard fought match, and steals the title in the cheapest way possible. And what happens? Huge pops. Way to have shit in order.

Al FUCKING Capone got a bigger pop than Cena at Wrestlemania 22

Yeah the Lesnar Goldberg thing was fucking awesome. I wanna see KHALI get the biggest fucking pop this year. I don't think Cena is gonna get booed that much this year, also.

I think its up in the air. I have a feeling the Detroit/Wrestlemania crowd might not lace into him as badly as last year, but I'm sure there'll be more Michaels support. If anything, for the fact that hes challenging.
I expect Batista to get booed out of the place, and in the rare event that he snaps the streak...I expect a decent amount of beers and debris to make its way into the ring in his direction.

I'm very surprised that "If _____ wins, we riot" haven't become more commonplace after the publicity that sign got.

If it happens, Batista WILL be pelted with 70,000 beers

Someone should bring a sign that says "If Batista wins, we rant on TPWW"

If Batista wins, a bunch of teenagers that will never meet will discuss it on a message board, and they will be quite mean...

It died off quickly after the modification of "If Cena loses, we riot" came into existance.

I remember being so happy that so many other fans in attendance were a part of those chants (I would've chanted them even had I been the only one in MSG doing so.).

Wrestlemania usually consists of the die hards as most parents won't spend that much money on tickets.
I do think Cena will get shit on again this year and yes, Batista will be shit on too.

That Lesnar Goldberg match is one of the most tragic things I've ever seen.
It had the potential to be one of the best matches ever... All they had to do was go into the match and start out brawling (kinda like Austin/Rock would do) and let the rest just happen. :(

Why is that kind of reaction so great?

Blah, I can remember being there...what a waste of time that was...why would this be anywhere near someone's favorite wrestlemania moments? who cares the crowd was shitting on them? you had two guys who should have been straight out brawling and all they did was stare at each other for ten minutes

I remember when they had their confrontation at No Way Out and everyone here (myself included) was saying how if their WM match was like this (fast, intense, powerful brawling) it would be awesome.
But as WWE2222 said... when it came down to it, all we got was a lot of staring.
