Seriously, what gimmick match just makes you go "oh fuck me, not this horse shit again!!!"
Last Man Standing, definitely. It's a God-awful concept, and it guarantees that a large part of the match will consist of too-long periods of ONE...............................................TWO............................................... ...THREE.......................................FOUR.............................................FIVE ...................................................SIX...................................
...rinse and repeat.
And draws are even worse, cause then you have a crappy ending, and both participants lie there for like ten minutes, and then we spend twenty minutes watching them stand up.
So what makes you wanna vomit?
King of the Mountain. Whoever thought a reverse ladder match involving pins and a penalty box would be a good idea is a fucking moron.

And King of the Moutain is pretty bad too.

Judy Bagwell on a Pole match, everyone is a loser. Whoever gets to Judy Bagwell (the technical winner of the match) is stuck with her, like a loser. The guy that doesn't get to her, has lost as well. And the fans that paid money to see it, they are out $79.99 for the tickets and they will never get that time back. Everyone loses.

How the hell did that work? From what i remember wrestlers had to race into the ring. then the first 7 to make it were in the match. then it became a regular battle royal until there were 2 left. then it became a regular match.

Reverse battle Royal Sucked indeed. Pretty much anything TNA comes up with sucks. Like they combine matches, like the Elimination cage match until 2 guys are left then they have to escape.
I still vote Coal Miners glove as the worst ever. EVER!

If you're talking about the one from ISW, thats really not a serious promotion so it kinda fits.

I gotta say that the Ultimate X match isn't a bad concept. Mind you, it helps when the majority of those involved are usualy pretty good workers.

Most of the above mentioned TNA matches, Kennel from Hell, most Pole matches, empty arena matches are boring as shit, the three tiered Ready 2 Rumble cage, the old Electric Chair cage, Kendo Stick matches (WCW), Boiler Room Brawl, Punjabi Prism
Oh, come on, the Boiler Room Brawl was good.
Was one of my favorite matches growing up. (The original Taker/Mankind one, not the ones which proceeded it.) :$

To go back to DT's original post of LMS, I didn't mind them a couple of years ago. They only used to break them out every year or two. But WWE put up an article of past LMS matches, and showed that Cena/Orton will be LMS 3 of 2007. No gimmick match(except no dq/extreme rules/hardcore) should be used that much in a year. It kinda kills it.
I used to really like HIAC, but I'm not too bothered about them anymore either.
I do have a pet peeve with cage matches. Where they are used to settle a feud because the cowardly heel keeps running away......when the object of the match is to escape your opponent!
I think the worst for me are pole matches. Just don't like them.

I loved the 1st one too. Pretty sure it was only Foley/Show that proceeded it. I heard a Foley interview on a podcast this year where he talked about those. Apparently he was offered gimmicked weapons and shit in the 1st one, but refused it, because he wanted a realistic feel to it. But he came out of it so bad that when the second one rolled around, he requested that every weapon in the room was gimmicked.
TNA's Reverse Battle Royal. 17 guys around the ring pretending they can't get in. NO BUYS.
So of course, they're doing it again at Bound For Glory.
What was that stupid match with Sting and Abyss with the candleabras in the ring, blue lighting and phantom of the opera music playing over the top? Last Rites or something?

I don't understand how these matches supposedly get sanctioned. Would Mankind have had to go to Gorilla Monsoon (I believe the on-screen President at the time) and explain that he wanted to wrestle the Undertaker in the Boiler Room of the Gund Arena, and the winner would be whomever can reclaim the urn from Paul Bearer waiting in the ring? I don't think the venue would have permitted the use of their Boiler Room in such a manner for starters.

when I was younger I thought a good match gimmick would be to have 2 matches go on at the same time.
TNA: Double Trouble
TWICE the action, TWICE the excitement, TWICE THE BIZARRE!
Didn't ECW do that years ago? They called it "Double Jeopardy" if memory serves.
Two single matches in the same ring, the winners of which would face each other. Fairly sure Jerry Lynn was involved.

Any over-the-top gimmick piled on gimmick match I hate. Also, imporperly used gimmick matches. A gimmick match should be used to round out a feud or when a normal match just won't do.
If you got 2 guys that hate each other and their fights keep spilling out of the ring, falls count any-where makes sence. If they keep getting dqed because of us of weapons, then make it some sort of weapon match. If the matches keep going on or end due to time limits or they have an on going series of matches, then Iron Man or Last Man standing matches make sence. If there is interefernce constantly ruinning the battle, cage or hell in a cell. And so on, each gimmick match should serve a purpose or accent a feud, not just oh lets make it a pyramid cage match with lumber jacks.
Did they actually have it?
No.
Not yet, anyway.

Hard Ten match
The Hard Ten match was created by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Nonstop_Action_Wrestling). It is contested on a points system, where the points are earned for the use of weapons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_object_%28professional_wrestling%29). The first person to earn ten points — and be up by at least two points — wins. Regular strikes with a weapon are worth one point, while putting an opponent through a table is worth five.[42] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_wrestling_match_types#cite_note-hard10-41) Unlike the tables match (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_wrestling_match_types#Tables_match), a wrestler simply moving out of the way so that an opponent puts themselves through a table does count in this match type.
Football Classic match
Two cages are placed at ringside, inside each of which is locked a manager (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manager_%28professional_wrestling%29) with a weapon. The key for each cage is fastened to a football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_%28ball%29#American_and_Canadian_football_ball). Two teams of wrestlers must try and gain possession of the football and take it over to their manager's cage, use the key to unlock the cage, then use the manager's weapon to attack the other team. To get the ball to the cage, the wrestlers must pass it between themeselves and attack any opposing wrestlers who have possession of the ball. In his autobiography; Mick Foley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Foley) describes the match as "A fun, fan-inclusive cross between keep away (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keep_Away), monkey in the middle, and kill the guy with the ball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_%28game%29#Smear_the_queer)."

I hate when they promote the same match as something else. Kane/Triple H at Judgment Day 01 was a chain match. Taker/Brock at No Mercy 03 was a Biker Chain match? Why? Cuz Taker was a biker? I didn't see either match so maybe there was a difference between the chains but if not, dumb.
