Detroit has been awfully quiet this afternoon. So either they are staying pat, or they are lining up for a player.

According to my local radio show, there is a blockbuster looming. And they had to cut to commercial because it is not official yet

The broadcaster will not release the info because it's just a rumor, but it does involve Hossa.

I have chills :(

Lo Down is going to bust a nut.

Hossa is allegedly headed to Pittsburgh

So the only other real big trade that happened was Hossa and Pascal Dupuis to the Pens for Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, Angelo Esposito and a first round pick.

I'm not a Canadiens fan, but maybe someone can explain why on earth Montreal traded Huet.

I just read it and just did :D!

But they traded Armstrong for him, liked Armstrong. Could care less about Christensen.

I was actually expecting them to trade Conklin or Fluery for someone. I guess we'll be running two goalies for the rest of the season/playoffs like the Wild did a few years ago.

There would have been another trade but obviously something fell through. So in essence, a team that should have been buyers gave up a pretty damn good goalie for nothing.

Thats second round pick in for 09, and it's an Anaheim pick.

PLus, get this:

Huet gets us a second rounder, from anaheim basically..so the pick wont be so hot...and Hal Gill nets a second rounder plus a 5th.

Gill is worth more than Huet????

:wtf:

I think the Habs were running for Hossa, but got outbid for him by Pittsburgh. That's my take on it. seeing how little they got for Huet, it's the only thing that makes sense.

Hypothetically, and anyone can answer, but its more so direct at Blitz.

What do you think Toronto would get for Sundin

also

In an entirely different question, what WOULD they get for Sundin.

Apparently, Marian Hossa his a slight tear in his MCL.

- 1st round pick, good roster player, and a decent prospect

I dunno some kid in one my classes earlier was saying that they are only knocking down parts of Yankee Stadium, so the field and shit is still gonna be there. So it really wouldn't be the last event there...then again this was coming from a Yankees fan (dumbass) so who knows?

Was Simon's 30 games too many for you too, Spilchuk? Because there is far too much difference in the severity of the suspensions handed out. It's not like Pronger hasn't got a track record for suspensions, which was one of the factors cited when Simon got his 30 games. Pronger should have gotten no less than 15, which would still have only been 1/2 of what Simon got.

People argue that fighting is part of hockey, but that other goalie didn't want any part of it. He was an unwilling participant in that fight and because of it I do believe there is merit for some form of outside punishment. There has got to be some types of deterrents to this stuff.

I appreciate the Bruins playing well, but I want to say that Claude Julien is probably the most boring coach I have ever seen. He transform every team he coaches into a defensive squad more eager on playing the trap than scoring goals. Get to the blue line, dump the puck, try to win the race. The Habs were boring with him, so are the Bruins now. He fits right in with the Devils though.

Even Jacques Lemaire has a more offensive style. COME ON.

Has anybody seen the comparison to the 2004 playoff series between the Habs and Bruins? It's pretty eerie...

The 2004 series went this way:

Game 1. Bruins win by three goals.
Game 2. Bruins win by one goal.
Game 3. Habs win by one goal.
Game 4. Bruins win by one goal.
Game 5. Habs win by a score of 5-1.

This years series:

Game 1. Montreal win by three goals.
Game 2. Montreal win by one goal.
Game 3. Bruins win by one goal.
Game 4. Montreal win by one goal.
Game 5. Bruins win by a score of 5-1.

Game 6 in 2004 was won by the Habs by a score of 5-2. So if we can keep this redemption going then we will win by a score of 5-2. I think we can do it but it all depends on how rattled Price is.

I hope that you can admit, that aside from Game 1, that the Bruins have out played them all series. If you guys pull out a victory tomorrow you certainly don't deserve it. Either way it's going to be a great game.

Also how can you be a fan of such a pussy team? How many fucking diving calls are you guys going to take? Diving has to be one of the most gutless things ever. You have Marc Savard and Kessel, two big time divers. And they both, among others, recieved diving calls their way this series, even in the last game.
And if we come out to play monday and win outright, then we will have deserved to win and advance, simply because good teams find ways to win.
Had Boston come out and played like Montreal they'd have been swept. That shows you how skilled the Habs are, and how tough it is, even when the B's give it their all, to defeat the best team in the east.

My defininition is when you switch teams in mid-season, when they finish in top spot, or when they win the stanley cup, and you claiming you have always been a a lifelong fan, and your team is finally going all the way.

As a matter of fact, the habs are my least favorite Canadian team, and I am rooting for them because they stand a good chance to bring the cup home this year. I could care less if it was Montreal or Calgary, as long as either wins it.

I'm not going to go around proclaiming that I have always been a fan which I most defintly have not, if the Habs win it, but I will be truly happy that Lord Stanleys mug is north of the border again, be it in Quebec, or Alberta.

To Mr Theodore,

We appreciate your effort in the net, but giving up 4 goals in games 1-3, and 3 goals in game 4 in the 1st period, probably killed any momentum your team had whatsoever.

Forsberg was out because of two torn groins, but he also was having problems with his ankle again.

Also, the thing that really confused me is why they didn't start Budaj in game 3, and if things did not work out, you go back to Theodore in Game 4.

That's the advantage Montreal has. They can always go back to Price in Game 4 now

Please keep in mind, there is no "right or "wrong" answer. I just want to hear your opinions (minimum 300 words).

Kinda early to claim he'll be better than say Marc-Andre Fluery (he does have a bigger upside granted). He still has a long ways to go till he's considered to be better than Tom Barrasso ever was.

I'm only laughing because a lot of people were touting Price as the next Dryden and the next Roy, heck your GM traded your only non rookie goaltender away for pretty much nothing (thus leaving no honest insurance between the pipes) so it's kinda funny to see him basically playing a rather large role in his team floundering right now. Let's not forget he wasn't great in game 5 or 6 of the Boston series either, all in all it's been an inconsistent playoffs for Price.

Look I have no doubt he's going to be great, it's just the situation he was put in and the amount of hype he's gotten were both unwarranted.

sure he is good player, I am not denying that, but just because he is a good player I have to like him? I dont see legions of people licking the shit off the bottom of Gretzkys feet.

No you won't. Detroit is too deep for Pitts

I know Pitts wont get past Detroit, Im saying if that did happen, Crosby would be hailed as the first to bring it here.

tbh I think Pittsburgh can match Detroit's depth. They've had some pretty good secondary scoring, and they're actually playing sound defensively this year for a change. It'll be a great series though if the cards end up falling that way.

You're really quite ignorant. You think that Crosby is the only person who gets that kind of treatment? Try living in Windsor, in the paper here if Phoenix wins a game, "Windsor native Jovanovski had a huge goal", or "Leamington's Darren McCarty notched an assist for Detroit last night", or "ex-Spitfire Jason Spezza propelled Ottawa to a win last night", or any other thing. Be thankful that at least Crosby is worth being worshiped, it could be a lot worse and you could just get sports headlines about players who aren't worth the attention but since they're local they get a ton of coverage. You're making it sound like Crosby is just some scrub. He's the face of not just his own franchise, but for the entire league, at a time when it can definitely use some good publicity in the US's eyes (it's barely even considered the 4th big sport down there)

Ok, I can understand your argument, and understand that he is the face of the NHL, and that he is an excellent player.

What I dont understand is why I have to like him. I see what you did there. Crossrine.

You don't have to like him at all, but flat out hating him for such a petty reason is really quite a bit silly.

Did I say I hate him? No, I didnt.

I dislike the amount of attention he gets, especially around here.

Then you're not old enough to remember it. Hell, he has a statue outside of Rexall Place

And rightfully so. A player of Crosby's caliber doesn't come along every so often. Enjoy it while it lasts, and get over yourself.

It has happened alot in Pittsburgh seemingly for the past 20 years.
