Fucking Mario, Jagr, Crosby and Malkin. That's pretty impressive.

All impressive players, only one I like is Malkin though.

Oh, and they recently erected a sign in Cole Harbour, NS.

Which reads. "Home Of Sidney Crosby"

Anyone know Joe Dipenta? Know where he comes from.

You will see why I dislike Crosby.

As much as I hate "looking forward", I honestly see Pitt/Det in the final... the San Jose series drained Dallas too much, and falling behind 2 games to Detroit could prove to be too much for them. Philly just looks overworked by Pittsburgh, maybe that will change but I don't see that series going longer than 6 games in Pittsburgh's favour.

Even though I'm a huge diehard Pens fan, I can't wait to see them play Detroit if it happens. It'll be a great series. I think the Philly one can turn out to be good too, if they play a bit more intense in the next few games. I just want to see the Pens win RARRRRR

sweet game tonight. Pens are looking solid. I just hope their youngness doesn't catch up to them. These Pens are reminding me of the days of Jagr, Lemeuix, Barraso, Francis and co... They are sweet.

took them a longggg while of suffering, but they are killing it rght now

"A butt-end to somebody's face at any time is pretty gutless," Turco said. "Just sticking your knob out there is a dangerous play."

Now I know it's mainly British slang so it might not mean the same thing over there, but does anyone else find that quote as hilarious as I?

El Fangel
05-18-2008, 09:50 PM
Dallas has gotten lucky, thats all I have to say.
Honestly dont think the Pens are going to win the cup, Detroit is not going to go down easily, then again, I called the Pens winning to a few of my co-workers earlier this year and they laughed, think I may have said something about it on here. I think it was around the same time that Crosby got hurt because if they can kick ass without Crosby, they can kick alot of ass with him.

Detroit's falling back into the problem they've had in recent playoff losses. Without Franzen, they're once again a one-dimensional scoring team. Teams can just key in on Zetterberg/Holmstrom/Datsyuk, since they aren't getting any scoring aside from their big line. They still have the best top-6 Dmen in the league and Osgood's playing fine, so it's not like they're playing awful, but their scoring is definitely going to be an issue in their series against Dallas and Pittsburgh (if they do win this series, which they should)

Pittsburgh certainly looks like the more well-rounded team right now, which I wouldn't have said about 2 weeks ago.

Seriously, you said NOTHING about luck when you started talking about the Pens.

Bruins resign Ward and Kobasew to multi year extensions. We will lock up Wideman and Stuart as well so our defence I think will be the same as last year unless we make a trade.

Our offense will have a very different look with Bergeron back and Lucic getting the playing time he deserves. Also look for the Bruins to buy out either Glen Murray or Manny Fernandez. If we can sign a big scoring forward we will contend big time in the East next year.

Cannot wait for July 1st.

El Fangel
05-21-2008, 01:33 AM
Agreed, they got another 10 years at least of top notch playing in Crosby, Hossa, Malkin and Sykora.

If they dont do something stupid and trade them away.

El Fangel
05-21-2008, 02:01 AM
LoDown, make a bet with you.

If Detroit downs Pittsburgh - You have to put up a Wings Logo, and make your custom title Wings Rule

If Pittsburgh downs Detroit - I will but Crosbys pic as my avy, and change my title to Sid Is God

How about it?

Agreed, they got another 10 years at least of top notch playing in Crosby, Hossa, Malkin and Sykora.

If they dont do something stupid and trade them away.

If they can afford to keep all them then yeah. Hossa's basically just a rental this season, Crosby and Malkin will command top dollar. How much does Sykora have left? Plus they gotta worry about guys like Fleury, Whitney, Malone, Gonchar, Staal, etc etc... I think if they can somehow budget at least half those guys they'll be great, but look at what happened over the past few years when they basically sold players like Kovalev away.

Malone, Whitney and I think Sykora are all FA's this year. Malone and Sykora going would suck.. And honestly, I think they'll keep Hossa for a few years. The Hossa/Crosby/Dupius line has been amazing so far.

We already went through this, but again to recap things

I like the leafs, and talked about supporting them a few years ago, seeing nothing really better after 10 years of being a fan, I gave up, I am no diehard fan at all, and never will say I am.

Of course if they make the playoffs, I will root for them, Then again, I will root for any Canadian team in the playoffs.

Definitely, that was a sick game. Detroit just looks so good moving the puck. Even times when they really shouldn't have made a pass, it was tape-to-tape and looked fluid. Even against a team like the Pens, it is insane how good Detroit is looking. Kinda bummed game 4 is on Saturday, will probably kill a bit of Pittsburgh's momentum, but I hope that the win gave them a bit of confidence and they'll play better.

Even though they played a solid game, I was kinda disappointed with the lack of physical play. I generally don't agree with Don Cherry much but he was spot on when he pointed out their lack of hits. In the third period any time a Wing had the puck the Pen would barely touch him. Granted, they're more of a finesse team and not so physical, but they gotta at least try and get Detroit off their game. Dunno, still pumped as hell for game 4. GO PENS

I feel so bad for Fleury if they don't win this game.

I only have a few things to say.

1) Thanks to the Pens for an entertaining series
2) If Detroit didnt put it in their own net last night, Fleury wouldnt have put it in his tonight
3) Fuck Crosby :D

I will say this.

Fleury caused his own demons. He is AWFUL. That 2nd goal we should have not scored. That 3rd goal was not entirely his fault, but he should have known where the puck was.

Also, FUCK PITTSBURGH FANS BOOING ZETTERBERG WHEN HE HOISTED THE CONN SMYTHE.

ALSO FUCK LODOWN AND RDD.

ALSO, DETROIT IS GOD

Stupidest thing I've read in a while. He is the reason they even made it through game 5.

That and a kinda lucky break with the goal being put into Detroits own net.

That was a hell of a Series. The last 4 games are what I expected this Series to be. Could have gone either way alot of those games, especially the 3 OT Game. Congrats Wings Fans. I couldn't be prouder to be a Pens fan, they just never gave up. That's all you can ask for.

lol @ Splaya. Stop making yourself look like a jackass. Grats your team won. But saying Fleury is awful over a lucky goal, when he's been amazing all playoffs, certainly not awful.

Splaya

He might have been amazing all playoffs, but he was not that amazing in the Finals. He had one good game, game 5. That's it

LoDownM

He might not of played his best hockey in the finals, but "awful" goalies don't keep teams like the Wings to 4 goals and under every game when those games could've easily been 6-0 7-1 blowouts.

Splaya, I did not want the Pens to win, but what your saying is retarded.

It's ok, Splaya's not really a hockey fan. He only cares so much because Detroit won. If they hadn't made it past the first round he wouldn't of posted in this thread or about the Wings at all.

Like I said before, I was rooting for Montreal and Calgary, hell I want any canadian team to win it.

When they left, I didnt want Saint Crosby to win it.

You have no idea how much of a diehard fan I am.

You're obviously not that diehard since you don't know decent goalie outings when you see them.

Fleury was shelled every game that series. 36, 34, 34, 30, 58, 30. Those were the shot totals in all the games. Fleury certainly did his part in the series, so I dunno where you're coming from. Keeping in mind the kid is only 23, in his second playoffs, pretty impressive.

yea wtf, what a ridiculous thing to say. Detroit manhandled the Pens pretty much the whole series. If not for Fleury, the series would of been brutal. He was a beast this whole series. If you want to put the blame on people, Fleury is the last guy I would blame. Detroit just kept attacking and really never stopped. Like said, the games could of easily been 5-1, 6-2 etc...

The end of that game was unreal. Would have been unreal if that had gone in. So close.

I tried some possibilities ( etc.) but with no success.
