Well, it hasn't even been formally announced yet, but apparently one song is already in.
http://www.destructoid.com/one-new-song-accidentally-revealed-to-be-in-guitar-hero-iv-68978.phtml
The band The Answer released a press statement today declaring that one of their songs, "Never Too Late", will be appearing in Guitar Hero IV. They also stated that Guitar Hero IV would be coming out at the end of this year:
Yeah so. Speculation, wishlists, etc.. Post 'em till we have some more info.

I can't understand why the would make another GH. With Rock Band you can do EVERYTHING you can do in GH, right? If so why make another? Isn't just going to be inferior to Rock Band? Why not move the focus entierly to Rockband? Furthermore once you have downloadable content why do you need a new disk at all? It's just new track, just charge a good some for em and you'll probably make MORE money. Whatever I guess.
Blitz

A) It's 2 different companies who make Rock Band and GH
B) GH is geared more towards hardcore players, RB is more of a party game
C) Because people will buy new disks
Destor

I thought Harmonix made both GH and RB?
Destor

After doing some research yes they do.
Destor
02-07-2008, 04:36 AM
and to the point of RB being more of party game you can play single player if you so choose with the same level of difficulty, can you not?
Blitz

Harmonix made the first 2 GH games (Well, Rock The 80s as well). But they were bought by MTV, and made Rock Band. GH's publisher, Red Octane, which still owned the GH license, gave Neversoft the development duties on GH3.
So, GH1, 2, and Rock The 80s were published by Red Octane and developed by Harmonix. Rock Band was published by MTV Games and developed by Harmonix, and GH3 was published by Red Octane and developed by Neversoft. Different companies.
And what I mean by party game is that Rock Band is much easier, and thus more suited as a party game for people to pick up and play. GH3 is WAY harder.

I didn't know any of that. :y:
I still stand by the fact that I think they stand to make more money by going to strictly to down loadable content. Cutting out the cost of disks alone would save a bundle. Factor in charging by a song by song basis and you have a much more productive structure.

Yeah, but DLC adds up over time, and ends up taking a LOT of hard drive space. Between RB and the GH games, I have whole gigabytes taken up by dlc. Would prefer a GH IV disc rather than them releasing all the songs as dlc and filling my hd.

People will blindly buy the discs, which is a plus, not to mention DLC won't get them on the software charts, which is incredibly desirable.
Though DLC has a lot more profit for them.

GH3 has a great list, I'm more interested in what features they're gonna add. GH3 and RB aren't the same kind of game, but there's no denying a sense of rivalry between the two. I'm wondering if RB's gameplay will have Neversoft add some new gameplay types like the better-than-I-thought Battle Mode.

If the notechart is fun, I will play it, even if it's hard, and even if I'm not big on the song. GH3 felt like a chore a lot of the time, which is why I've barely touched it since Rock Band came out. Somehow, I still see them considering a country edition of GH, seeing as how we're seeing alot of this "rock country" crossover stuff going on. I would be kind of curious of that, actually. Could get some new fans if they do that ("yeah, man. Some moonshine, a CD of Bush's best speeches, and some Guitar Hero! WHAT A LIFE I HAVE!!"....no, that was not something I would say).
But I just got into the series, so I'm one of those people that will be really awaiting a new full GH game, whatever it is. Really, the only thing that Activision did wrong is that they should change the star meter graphic back to what it was (I played GH3 before the original one, and the originals star power bar was way more telling of how much you had compared to 3's light bulb thing). 3 was very challenging, but maybe more challenging than it had to be. Outside of those three things, they didn't do that bad of a job (Activision has a reputation to uphold, IMO, since they have a HUGE history going back to the 2600. Hopefully that's not lost on them now). The "practice" mode was an excellent idea, though, since it could be just one part that fucks everything up for you. Hopefully they keep that in (makes it look more realistic, too).
A feature I would like to see is something that Rock Band did, where at certain points, you can "switch up" the notes to make it sound more interesting, or a "big finish" where you could just go wild with the note playing, but you would have to strum a certain note at the end to get the biggest points out of it (or make a new "live band" mode that will allow you to do stuff like that). Also, why is the "tuning up the guitar tutorial" even IN the game if you never have to do it (I never seen any difference)?
Either require it or take it out of the tutorial altogether.
One song I can see them adding: Aerosmith's Dream On. Want to play that one.
I wanna see some Alkaline Trio added.

Got something else that I think they could add to it.
We all know of the five star reviews being the best you can do, but what if you could get something extra special as a bonus for getting a 100% note hit rate (as in, if you can hit EVERY SINGLE NOTE in the note chart in a particular song). Like a free unlockable or something like that in Career. I'm sure there's been a few people that have been able to hit every note in a song (I have on occasion). Since it's VERY hard to keep up a streak for so long, they should give a special reward for doing something like that.

Fire up the fret board, crank the amp to 11 and get ready to rock this way with Activision, Inc.’s (Nasdaq:ATVI) Guitar Hero®: Aerosmith®, the first game built around the legendary music of America’s Greatest Rock ‘N Roll Band: Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer. Slated for release this June, this latest installment from the franchise with the #1 best-selling video game in 2007, puts players in the shoes of Perry (guitar), Whitford (guitar) and Hamilton (bass), as they rock out alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer. Gamers will experience Aerosmith’s GRAMMY® winning career, from their first gig to becoming rock royalty, in a way that no other entertainment vehicle offers.
To celebrate this historic, ground-breaking collaboration, Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock fans will have the opportunity to download and jam to Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” The song will be available for free from February 16-18 on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®Store for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. For more information, please visit www.guitarhero.com (http://www.guitarhero.com/).
“Having a game built around Aerosmith has been a huge honor and really a great experience for us,” says Joe Perry. “We’ve put a lot of ideas into the game so that fans can have fun interacting with our music, getting inside our body of work and learning about the band’s history.”
Steven Tyler says, “Any band that can go from ‘Don’t Want to Miss A Thing’ (Aerosmith’s #1 smash hit) to the ass-kicking ‘Sweet Emotion’ to the cheekiness of ‘Love in an Elevator,’ to the classic ballad ‘Dream On’ shows why Activision chose us to headline this game based on the diversity of the Aerosmith catalog. Not only is songwriting a bitch, but then it goes and has puppies.”
Perry adds, “On a larger scale, it’s cool for us to be pioneers helping to rebuild the music industry through a format like video games. It’s great for rock since the record companies are struggling to make sense of how things are changing. Fans want to get and experience music in new formats--and there are going to be some of them who will play the game, then pick up the guitar for real and start bands. It’s what’s happening now, and it’s only going to build more momentum in the future. It’s a massive change for the music business.”
“We are extremely excited that Aerosmith chose to team up with Guitar Hero, bringing one of the world’s all-time best-selling artists together with one of the biggest video game brands, to deliver a new and unique interactive way for our customers to connect with artists and their music,” said Dusty Welch, head of publishing for Activision/RedOctane. “This partnership will give Aerosmith, a band that has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, a powerful and innovative platform to reach their fans and new audiences.”
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith brings these quintessential rock legends to the interactive realm to create the ultimate gaming experience. As fans progress through their careers in the game, they can rock out to scores of Aerosmith’s greatest hits, as well as songs from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way. Venues from historical moments during the band’s illustrious career offer the experience of “sweet emotion” and further capture the essence of the band’s rise to fame.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. The Wii™ version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. The PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system version is being developed by Budcat. The game is not yet rated by the ESRB.

Okay two things.
1. The problem with the band specific GH is that not every GH owner will be a fan of said band. And even the owners that are a fan of the band may not want to spend another $30 (probaly $40 or $50 in the end) or so for the game. For example, I love Aerosmith, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 for the game. They would be better off just releasing an Aerosmith expansion pack on the PS3 Network and XBL.
2. Adding the same songs on Rock Band that was previously in Guitar Hero does add new deminsion to the songs thanks to the drums and vocals.

How many songs do you have that it's taking up that much?
I mean, the largest single DLC track I have for Guitar Hero is like 34 MB. Let's assume 40 and then assume 1 GB equals 1000 MB for simplicity. You're looking at the use of 25 songs per gig, assuming they're all larger than the largest song I have.
Now, Rock band gets kind of worse. I do have songs that add up to 40MB or more per track. But still, how many songs do you have to take up GigbyteS?

I'd still want celebs in there, though. I'd love a career mode that has rock stars asking you to fill in for an injured guitarist. So you'd be playing lead or rhythm for Metallica or Killswitch along whatever story mode I'm almost certain will be in GH4.

Howabout something more like jamming? I don't mind the idea of playing with a legend (Though to be fair, the only legend is Slash), it's the gaytarded "battle" system that bugs me.

"Bleed It Out" played as a band would be fun. "The Little Things Give You Away" is another 'playable' Linkin Park track.
Creating a note chart would mean having the masters for songs, which just about none of us commoners actually have. So I'm guessing you'll be able to make a note chart with tracks already in the game or DLC masters rather than pulling your own music in there. I could be wrong.
Why is it still called Guitar Hero?
Kane Knight

It doesn't mean having the masters, it just means limited functionality (The music won't drop out).

From Gamespot:
Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that the the June issue of Game Informer would be jam-packed with details of Activision's Guitar Hero 4, due out this fall. That issue has since arrived in subscribers' mailboxes, confirming the accuracy of the original post and providing more details on developer Neversoft's second crack at the rhythm gaming franchise.
As initially revealed by Activision CEO Bobby Kotick in a recent interview, Guitar Hero 4 will add drums and vocals a la Rock Band. Game Informer's feature includes a shot of the referenced drum kit, which includes three pads, two elevated cymbals, and a pedal (as opposed to Rock Band's four pads and a pedal). For those keeping track, that means the Guitar Hero 4 kit has one extra input than the Rock Band equivalent, raising compatibility questions for the two series' instruments yet again. The developer is going wireless with Guitar Hero 4's drum pads, and will be making them pressure-sensitive so the game can tell if players are wailing on the drums or meekly tapping them.

Guitar Hero IV could utilize a guitar with a touch sensitive neck that enables players to utilize the entirety of the fret board, according to leaked marketing documents from intelliresponse.
The document appears to be a questionnaire put together for both Microsoft and Activision and contains convincing information on other upcoming titles from the two companies. Links to the survey are no longer active, but quick-thinking gamers on message boards dissementated the intriguing but unconfirmed info far and wide.
Coming from the same source that contains supposed details of much of Microsoft's E3 showings, the Intelliresponse leak claims that Guitar Hero IV will feature a peripheral with a neck slide, a touch sensitive fretboard that allows for more freeform solos. The same document lists some of the bands to feature in the game, stretching back to sixties stalwarts Jimi Hendrix and The Doors and taking in Foo Fighters, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Muse and Interpol. The game is also given a price point of $179.99, which would place it competitively with its key rival, Electronic Art's Rock Band.
Activision declined to comment on the details, but expect to see more come E3 in the middle of July.

- The extra tabs at the neck of your axe allows you to adjust your sound using touch-sensitive tech. Like RB, you can tap it without strumming to hit notes.
- The actual guitar is larger than past guitars, maybe the largest.
- You activate SP by tapping the mic.
- Character creation is deeper than RB's, featuring sliders for facial details.
- World Tour mode is essentially RB's mode with boss battles.
- Past GH characters return along with new celebs if creating a character isn't your thing.
Music Creation, from IGN:
Normally I'd say that the over 85 songs (all of which are master tracks and are promised to be a "step above GH3") on the disc for Guitar Hero: World Tour is impressive. Then I'd follow it up by saying I'm bummed that none of the downloadable content from Guitar Hero 3 will work with World Tour, but that the renewed commitment to DLC with an in-game music store (that may arrive shortly after launch), full album downloads and regular releases makes up for it to some extent. While all of that is true, it pales in comparison to the limitless options the music creator offers.
When I say the tools in World Tour for creating your own music are impressive, you'd do well to believe it. I was only given a brief demo of what this game packs and came away with a longing to try it myself and see what I could pump out. You don't just create songs by laying out a note track. You can simply play and the game will do the rest for you. Or you can get technical and go deep into the editor. The only downside is that you can't record a vocal track. Legal quashed that one and, when you think about what ugly doors vocal recordings could open, it makes sense.
Before I overwhelm you with the depth, I'll go over a few of the options included here to keep things simple for those of us less musically inclined. The music creator includes a wizard to help newbies hop into the process quickly and painlessly. Select a premade bassline and a drum loop, adjust the tempo between fast, medium or slow and you've got the basics laid out for you. Even if you don't have a good sense of rhythm, you can make a song by telling the game to lock your notes to the beat. Things can get much more complex, should you so choose.
Our demo of the music creator was fast -- a testament to how easy it is to make a song, but only scratching the surface of what the tool can do. It was just a few minutes from starting concept to end product. The demo began with choosing a generic bass loop before moving on to creating a drum track. If you want, you can simply rock out on the drum kit and lay down a beat. But this wouldn't be a Guitar Hero game if you didn't have some options for using the guitar controller and its new touch sensitive strip. There's a drum machine in the game and you can manipulate it in real-time with the guitar.
You begin by choosing a kit from an list of options. This defines your basic set of sounds that can be made. From there, loops can be assigned to each of the five buttons. Starting and stopping each loop is done with the neck buttons, then tweaks are added with the rest of the guitar. Using the touch pad you can do things like kill some parts of the loop or add 16th notes or snare hits. The strum bar changes the pitch of the loop. Tilting the guitar changes the speed of the sample. The kit I saw had a crash assigned to the whammy for easy access. The proof is in the setup. After that you can add and subtract sounds as you please.
Once our demoer had the drum and bass tracks down, he rewound the song to add a guitar track over the bass and drums that set the rhythm. Before you begin to solo on the guitar, you'll have to choose from a list of options to get the sound you want. Activision has licensed the technology from Line 6, the guys who make Pods, to include in the game. This adds full amp and cab modeling to the mix, bringing a wide range of possible guitar sounds to the game. Check here to read up on what Pods do if you're not familiar with them. With the sound right, the next step is to choose a root note and scale to solo on.
With the setup done, you're ready to start soloing. The new touch strip can be used to add sustains or staccato notes. Tilting the guitar controls the pitch, raising or lowering it, enabling you to play much more than five notes. Even the back button gets some love -- hitting it while strumming adds palm muting. At any point you can pause, rewind and listen to what you've done so far and re-record what you want. Oh, and the game has an arpeggiator in it in case you want to really get into things.
As you're creating the song, World Tour lays down the note chart that everyone will play when the song is final in real-time. If you manage to create a nearly impossible song, you won't have to worry about that limiting your audience. The exact notes you played will be set to the hardest difficulty and the game will auto-generate note patterns for the easier settings so that everyone can enjoy (or hate) your work.
Want to get even more hardcore? Head over to GH Mix, Neversoft's mixing editor where you can loop sections, edit out pieces or copy and paste a chorus. I only got a very brief look at this and Neversoft didn't say much about it other than that they didn't expect many casual gamers to ever venture into this territory.
Once you're done creating your song, you can publish it to GH Tunes. When you do you'll be asked to pick which tracks should be played by each instrument, assign your own cover art (which can be custom created using the decal editor), select a genre, and a few other key bits of data to mark the track properly as yours. From there, anybody is free to download it and play it. As soon as they finish their first try at it they'll be asked to rate your masterpiece. That data is then sent back up to the server so that Activision can track which songs are the hottest with rankings for highest rated, fastest chart movers, most played and more.
You'll be able to save up to 100 songs of your own creation locally, upload five at a time (you're free to swap your favorites in and out of GH Tunes), and download up to 200 tracks others have created. Activision was quick to point out that the Wii version will have the same features as the PS3 and 360. You can create songs, upload them, download them, and purchase famous downloadable tracks on Wii.

No, this system is better anyway. Imagine a gamer who'll spend time recreating your favorite tunes and uploading them. A guy decent enough with the game's studio could service alot of people waiting for that one track GH and RB would never come around to offering. Its not the same as a master track, but the possibilities are very exciting. Then there's completely new rock instrumentals just waiting to be discovered. Yeah; 89% of the user uploads will be utter crap (YouTube shows us this), but you never know.

Yeah, all that talk about how simple it'll be. Its not Pro Tools but it kinda trumps Garage Band in the depth department. I'm kinda excited at what will pop up on GHTunes when dudes really learn how to use it. I am completely behind whoever makes it his mission to make WWE covers.

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/07/17/exclusive-hendrix-comes-to-guitar-hero/
The ultimate guitar hero, Jimi Hendrix, is finally coming to the Guitar Hero game franchise, according to Janie Hendrix, who oversees his estate. The Hendrix estate, which had difficulty locating the original masters until now, has delivered multiple songs — including “Purple Haze,” “Foxy Lady” and “Little Wing” — to GH’s developers, although it’s not yet clear which tracks they will use. The next edition of the game, Guitar Hero: World Tour, hits stores October 27th.
The estate has also authorized an official Hendrix avatar for the game. “Guitar Hero really was on the ball and and they were biting at the bit to get this out this year, so, we just accommodated them,” Janie Hendrix tells Rolling Stone. “Jimi was a kid at heart — he definitely would have played these games.” A spokesperson for Red Octane/Activision had no comment.
Oh, wow.

WTF do they mean? They had an instrumental cover of Spanish Castle Magic in the original GH. I know it's a cover, but it was a damn good one.
Hopefully, they'll have Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and Dolly Dagger in there.

Yeah, so the way its structured and the fact that this comes from a couple unreliable sites makes me wanna say fake. The only reason I don't is because its coming from the same guy who leaked the GH 3 setlist, and that turned out to be true. So I think this is at least deserves a look.

I saw that setlist, and my first thought was "fake."
If it's real, it still has a lot of shite, but the good stuff might totally make it worth it.
Still, I won't judge this setlist until it's confirmed, like the Rock Band 2 list.

Plus, I don't know about this "guy who leaked the last setlist" thing. I don't know if he did or not, but the nature of the internet always lends me towards skepticism, because online, if you say something enough it becomes true. I'm not saying it's wrong, just that I don't really know. It's a little hard to take that for anything in that light.

jcmoorehead

Probably get a game only purchase on this. Especially if it's got Comfortably Numb on there.
Main thing I'm worried about with this one though is that with GH3 a lot of the note charts didn't seem to work that well and they sacrificed fun over difficulty, with Rock Band the note charts seem to flow a hell of a lot better. I'm just hoping Neversoft don't make the same mistake this time around.
Not too thrilled if the Guitar Battles are back too, it adds something new to the game I know but a lot of the time it was more of an annoyance. Also... Sting? Of all the people to have a guitar battle with I wouldn't have put his name up there.

Master of Puppets, Bleed It Out, Johnny B. Goode (Marty McFly FTW), Beat it (wish it was the Fall Out Boy version), Don't Talk to Strangers, Toxicity, Paradise City, Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Kids Aren't Alright, and Today sold it for me.
If the list is true. And my friend would cream his pants at three Tool tracks in the game. Seems more commercial than RB's list, but its been my experience that 'bubblegum pop' made for fun sessions playing as a full band. I'm down with Ride The Lightning, but my guys still give me shit for downloading it and making them live in fear it popping up in random sets. But we all love playing Paramore's Crushx3. So there you go.

Meh it could just be Activision getting their diapers in a bunch and try to refute this setlist because *they* want to be the ones to release it.

Dunno why people are so adamant about Sober. While a great song, the 3 listed above would be much better. Ok, well actually I'd prefer Ticks & Leeches over Stinkfist, just for the drums alone. But if not that, I would say something like even 46 & 2 would be a better alternative than Sober.

From Metallica's website:
Death Magnetic," the entire album, available for Guitar Hero too! Update: Exclusive content and how to get the game
We told you it was coming and the time is here . . . the simultaneous release of the album and as what our friends at Activision call "downloadable content" for your Guitar Hero game. Anytime after 2:00 AM PDT on Friday, September 12, you can get "Death Magnetic" for GHIII at the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for a cost of 1,440 Microsoft Points and in the Playstation store for PS3 at a cost of $17.99.
Each download contains two different versions of "Suicide & Redemption." One version is James only solo, and the other is Kirk only solo. The download will be forward compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour when it comes out in October.
There's the where, when, and how stuff!
It's a first in both music and gaming . . . the same day that "Death Magnetic" hits the streets, you'll be able to download every song from the album for "Guitar Hero III!" We are so psyched that we'll be the first out of the gate with this simultaneous release . . . who knows, maybe a few years from now this will be the norm when your favorite band's new record comes out.
And for those of you who are anxiously awaiting the next Guitar Hero, "World Tour," we're ready for that too . . . you will be able to experience "Death Magnetic" for drums, vocals, and guitar when that game emerges this Fall.
Keep watching here for the where, when, and how stuff . . .
Forward compatible with World Tour. Sweet. If I can't have this on Rock Band, this will do I guess.

From IGN:
Now, before you get excited about laying down the note chart for your favorite song that isn't in the game using the, there are a few things you should know. The first is that there is no vocal stream in the song creation tools. You can put down a keyboard part and have someone sing it, but dictating the words or recording your voice is out. The second is that there is a three minute or 1,200 note limit on user created songs. Since you can upload the songs you create in the studio and let others download them, keeping a limit on the size of the file is a necessity. The last, and perhaps the most important caveat, is that prior to uploading a song you'll have to agree to a user agreement which states that the song is your personal work and not copyrighted by someone else. Any copyright infringing songs uploaded by users will be promptly removed. But hey, you can still create them and just play them locally if you want.
Pretty sure Diesel Mac's last post is referring to this but there's more information on it. You can apparently create MIDI songs on your computer and transfer them over to your console and play them. The PS3 can do every instrument but the 360 only allows drums. If I get this it looks like it will have to be for the PS3 now.
I guess they announced the music creation mode and then said there was an additional "secret" instrument. Well the PC would be it in this case. (Don't keep up much on this game, sorry)

I was wondering how the RB drums would work on GHWT tracks, I guess this is it. I thought it was on easy, but the chart was still kinda complex. So I guess the game auto-adjusts based on drum controller like 'Revolution.

Fun game. Someone made the ZELDA THEME.
I caught myself singing with Beat it. :D I like how the singer does the Micheal moves including the Moonwalk.
I also like Neversoft's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. You could spend hours previewing, downloading, and playing the custom music.
Definately worth a software only buy.

Only really a spoiler if you don't want to know who/what's in the final gig set list
Final gig on Guitar and you have an all star cast. Travis on srums, Sting on bass and Ozzy singing. Ozzy singing La Bamba made me ROFL

Great... "Rock Hero" I'm betting.
If the RB Guitar is any clue, the drums will not work for this new 'Hero game. It's over-doing, anyway. I would have been fine with tracks that allow Lead, Bass, and Rhythm and a 3-player mode that let's three players play them all at once. More exclusive tracks like the three in GH3 where real guitar heroes have a jam session on their axes and you play them. For that matter, special versions of popular rock songs with extra solos and sections made just for the game (like Cult of Personality). All of that would've locked GH4 down on my wishlist, but being a copycat seems to be the order of the day.
Fail.

You pretty much nailed it though. If it wasn't for Sony and MS, the guitars still probably wouldn't be compatible.
In fact they've tried, their "innovation" in the guitar bits make some parts virtually impossible on a Guitar Hero 2 guitar because you need the slider. Fucking cunts.
I was going to come here and say I was stuck on a song but I did it as I was uoloading the vid. It's the last song on Bass career.
B.Y.O.B on hard.... I could do it easilly if it wasn't for those free strums spammed all over the place

Whats faulty about it?

The red snare drum doesn't work all the time. Sometimes it won't recognize anything and sometimes it thinks you're hitting the yellow cymbal, or activates star power.
Plus, the cymbals you have to hit almost dead center or it won't register.

Closing Comments
Guitar Hero World Tour is a fun title, to be sure, but it's also a disappointment in a lot of respects. A number of things it tries to accomplish were already done better in Rock Band, which you might figure would have provided a simple blueprint to be followed and expanded up, but that's not the case. The music creation tools are a great idea in theory, but the end result isn't as robust as I would have hoped it would be, both in terms of abilities as well as the songs that come out the other end.
The game does have a good bit going for it and can serve to act as a stepping-off point for next year's game, whatever form that might take. Unfortunately, I thought the same of Guitar Hero III, and here we are.
Pretty much completely agree with those comments.
Oh, and even though some achievements are listed "Complete a career on (insert difficulty level)", you can't get them with bass guitar :|
