The whole Chuck Palumbo/Jamie Noble/Michelle McCool 'love' triangle thing is really working for me.

When it first started, I honestly had no clue where it was going, and I was a bit confused by it. Now that it's playing out, I find myself enjoying it quite a bit. I've always been a Palumbo fan and it sucked to see him playing a bland biker babyface, but now he's got a crazy jealous asshole thing going on, and it works well. I'm also a big Noble fan, so it's good to see him getting airtime.

The size difference between the two makes it really easy to feel sorry for Jamie, and the hotness of one Michelle McCool makes you believe somebody might fight over her. Oddly enough, it's probably my favorite thing on SmackDOWN! right now.

Now, this thread is pretty much twofold.

In honor of Valentine's Day, how do you feel about romance angles in wrestling? I think they can sometimes work well and can add intensity to a feud, but I think they sometimes lack merit when it just seems like two people are dating out of nowhere.

My favorite romance angle was probably Jericho/Christian/Trish leading up to Wrestlemania XX.

Pulumbo sucks, Noble is however good, and seems to always entertain me whenever I watch him.

I remember Carlito having a romance angle with Trish Stratus just before she left, and then they tried to replace her with Torrie Wilson. I have great disdain for Torrie Wilson.

Speaking of Torrie Wilson, after the Dawn Marie/Al Wilson romance angle ended my friend and I saw a tabloid with the headline "Barbara Streisand AIDS scandal." The cover page had a picture of Barbara Streisand and a man who looked exactly like Al Wilson.

In conclusion, Al Wilson gave Dawn Marie's AIDS to Barbara Streisand, and that is the only part of the Torrie Wilson/Dawn Marie feud I liked.

The Jericho/Trish/Christian thing has to be my favourite romance angle of all time.

Anything involving Lita was a mess.

Same here. No clue as to why.

Would you count Ric Flair saying he had incriminating photos of Miss Elizabeth in his feud with Randy Savage as a 'romance' angle?

I was a Billy and Chuck mark. It was interesting in a really uncomfortable way.

Remember when Jeff Hardy was romantically linked with Trish before he left the first time? Yuck.

Trish was really a slut. She banged Jeff, Jericho, Vince, Test, Albert...I'm sure there are more.

Remember Mark Henry going on that date with Chyna? Or more recently, Big Vis going on a date with Trish? That one was actually pretty underrated, IMO.

I liked Noble when he was in the Jung Dragons. And I like Michelle McCool. So, it's at least got positive attention from me.

As far as romance in wrestling- It's just like any plot element translated to sports entertainment, if it's done with tact and grace and it creates drama it will work well.

Did anybody watch that beatdown Palumbo gave Noble on SmackDOWN!, though? Pretty well executed. Chuck looked like a madman.

Yeah, it's been a great angle so far. Palumbo has looked vicious.

Yes, I suppose you did mention that earlier TL. I guess I just got too caught up in all this romance to notice.

Lita has a nice track record herself in sluttiness... Essa Rios, Matt Hardy, Edge, Kane

That doesn't make her a slut, they're all clearly irresistible.

Kane is quite handsome when he wears his nice slacks.

I really think this angle is one of the best things going on SmackDown, just too bad the live crowd doesn't seem that much into it. This past Friday's beatdown had a mostly silent crowd. I don't know if they just seemed shocked at the punishment Palumbo was administering or if they just didn't care.

I think we should hold off on this category until Paul Burchill and his sister make their presence felt tonight.

The Jamie Noble and Chuck Palumbo thing has been brilliantly done. I was honestly not expecting the double turn. I thought they would have Noble sort of win McCool over, and then have Palumbo work his ass off to get her back. This is much better. In their matches, in makes more sense for Noble to play the babyface, since he is giving up so much size.

I also love the way that Jamie Noble has allowed so much personality to shine through in this feud. A lot of people probably considered him a vanilla midget, except for maybe his stint with Nidia. Now he's got quite a lot going for him. I'm sorry, but his "Noble - 3 Pulambo - 0" shirt was gold. Noble needs to keep busting out the awesome shirts.

The matches will only get better, and I think it will do a lot of everyone involved in the feud.

I'm in kind of the same boat. There's nothing particularly offensive about him, I guess, but he's not the kind of wrestler I imagine myself to like. I must say, he has been doing some great promo work in this feud. I don't know why, but I always expected Chuck to be shit on the mic. He's rather fluid and well articulated, though. Good on him. :y:

I'd also like to point out that Chuck Palumbo perhaps has the most logically evolved character in all of sports entertainment. He started off as a "Natural Born Thriller," which was a group I was not too acquainted to, but he was kind of just a guy, I guess. That's the impression I got. Just a guy who likes to kick ass and is well built. He then joined Billy & Chuck, which was a publicity stunt, but come on, this is professional wrestling, Chuck used be in the military and to go along with something like that, you have to be somewhat confused about something.

We then saw the emergence of Custom Chucky P, who built his own motorcycles or something. When he returned after being fired, Chuck Palumbo was pretty much a continuation of Custom Chucky P. I believe he even wears a shirt which says "Kustom CP." Palumbo's initials were used pretty heavily during the Billy & Chuck era (they were apart of his titantron and tights, don't ask me why I know this). Now he's a complete asshole to Michelle McCool, and is pretty much acting like a misogynist on a motorbike, which is probably what you'd get if you mixed his army background, his generic tough guy, his fake-fag and his motorcycle characters all into one.

Chuck Palumbo looks like a spousal abuser any way so I am in favor of it
