Palumbo vs. Noble / Romance in wrestling
The whole Chuck Palumbo/Jamie Noble/Michelle McCool 'love' triangle thing is really working for me.
When it first started, I honestly had no clue where it was going, and I was a bit confused by it. Now that it's playing out, I find myself enjoying it quite a bit. I've always been a Palumbo fan and it sucked to see him playing a bland biker babyface, but now he's got a crazy jealous asshole thing going on, and it works well. I'm also a big Noble fan, so it's good to see him getting airtime. The size difference between the two makes it really easy to feel sorry for Jamie, and the hotness of one Michelle McCool makes you believe somebody might fight over her. Oddly enough, it's probably my favorite thing on SmackDOWN! right now. Now, this thread is pretty much twofold. In honor of Valentine's Day, how do you feel about romance angles in wrestling? I think they can sometimes work well and can add intensity to a feud, but I think they sometimes lack merit when it just seems like two people are dating out of nowhere. My favorite romance angle was probably Jericho/Christian/Trish leading up to Wrestlemania XX. |
