I believe Regal can be seen as a serious threat now. We all wanted Regal to do something, they gave him this. I mean yeah he could be doing the GM makes matches for his championship thing, but maybe we will find out that he was the one who selected the card for the KOTR? Then him and Punk could have a decent feud when he comes to Raw,.

I mean Regal pretty much only had 0 difficult matches. Finlay was hurt, Hornswoggle's hornswoggle, and CM Punk had been in two matches. Great heel advantage taking there. Regal is an excellent in ring performer who can do wonders with this. Yet people are already bitching about how it's gonna be nothing, with that attitude you're going into it with you probably won't enjoy whatever they do. Take your preconieved notions and let's just see what happens. Maybe this will be good, maybe it won't, but I think it has potential to be great.

He has power (GM), he has recognition (KOTR), and he has skill. I doubt any one is gonna say he isn't entertaining or a great performer. This could boost him to the point where he can say "I should be in world title matches" and he'll have a little more leeway with that, and even if he does it in a great heelish way taking every oppurtunity to cheat and get the title he is a serious threat to anyone now. Because people can't argue that he doesn't have the resume past and present to be a champion.

oh come on. Regal has not looked strong at all for the past couple of months. He's a heel GM who has done nothing noteworthy. And now I'm suppossed to take him seriously? that's not how it works. this should have built up a guy like MVP, whom already had momentum, not a 45 year old veteran like Regal. There just taking steps backwards, which they do all the time. Why would you build up Punk like that, only to make him tap out clean to a guy with no push behind him. It doesn't make any sense to me. You can't just throw anybody into a tournament, have them win it and suddenly they are a somebody.

True. I just think it's all in how they go from here. Not everything needs build-up (although most of the time it does) I mean this gives him something to brag about and be a dick about even though he didn't really do much other than take advantage of everything given to him.

The show is about wrestling. Regal can wrestle. Now we can see more of that. Do we really lose just because somebody else didn't win it? And maybe Kennedy can come back and complain about not being in the match starting a Kennedy/ Regal feud. The possibilities are limitless really.

But it's WWE. So you know: fuck.

Do I think this could still turn out amazing: yeah. Do I think it will: It's WWE, maybe they really are trying to appeal to the fans again.

I was actually rooting for Regal to win and he did. Huzzah. I don't have a problem with him coming out of nowhere and winning it either. Regal is one of those guys who can just come out of nowhere and be believable. Not many can do that, but he can.

Like I said in the other thread, this will only work if they continue to actually have him wrestle. Tonight he was great. All business and ruthless. Yeah, he faced guys who he had an advantage over going in... but he didn't play around with Hornswoggle, he didn't cheat at all in his matches with Finlay and Punk. He won by submission, breaking out the Regal Stretch... I don't remember the last time he used that (unless I just haven't been paying attention). If they have him continue down this road, taking a more active ring presence and just being all badass... this is the start of something Awesome.

If they don't have him wrestle more though, it is massive failure.

Also, if they have him wrestle and give him a big serious heel push just so they have a heel to job to Cena that is also massive failure.

Look, I like Regal alot, but i agree with LooseCannon here. They've all but said " Punk wont ever win the a Smackdown or Raw title ". I mean, tapping to Regal? Am i ( the casual fan ) suppose to believe that Regal, who hasnt wrestled for like 20 years or something, just steps into a tournament and beats Finlay and makes Punk tap? Huh? I'm all for making Regal a badass. I love Regal, but like L.C said. You have a great oppurtunity to put someone over big. Somone like MVP who would have been ready for a world title push if he won this tournament. The King of the Ring has always been a tournament thats catapolted the winner into super stardom. Bret Hart, Austin, Edge, Angle, Big Visc got super fat, but thats still really super.

As the casual fan i am. I really want to get into WWE again. I really like Orton. I really like Cena, because he's got potential to become a mega heel and i want to see it. I like Edge and I like Batista and HBK. But I just cant do it. I cant get into the product. For every good thing they do, they do something twice retarded. And leave me completely baffled. Put the Regal winning aside for a second. I was watching the lineup thinking how much I really loved everyone, accept Hornswoggle. Why the fuck is Hornswoggle in this tournament? I dont mind Khali. What drove me crazy is the way they are going about it. I mean, when Regal came out they talked about how shocked they were that Regal was actually wrestling in the tournament...and thats all well and good, but they should have gone further. And another way they went wrong is they kept mentioning how the competitors had no idea who they'd be facing, including Regal. So you are meant to assume some moron in WWE found Swog to be worthy of one of the 8 spots.

Instead, they should have been approaching it as "Wow Regal is a dick. He uses his GM power to enter the tournament and he gives himself an early first round match to boot." But nope, they kept insisting that the brackets were all random. That pissed me off.</font>

Best thing is to just see where this goes. There's about a 90% chance the WWE will fuck this up but in that case it's nothing new, and at least Regal has a decent 'honour' to take with him when he retires :\.

Also agree 100% with Johnny Vegas, the way Orton set up that RKO was awesomeeeee. The way he slid across the ring on his knuckles and just pounced as he turned, timed perfectly.

I'm sorry if this was mentioned here already, but RAW was absolutely unwatchable last night for one reason: the commercials.

Now I have Cablevision in New York so I don't know if anyone else here had this problem. I don't mind commercials but it seemed like every commercial break had the same commercials everytime...and they would play the same commercials about 3 times during each break.

The Axe commercials were the worst, where the couple is fighting in bed, where the guy is peeling his skin off, testing the guys in the desert, etc.

Others were the Burger King commercial with the breakfast wrap, the Iron Man commercials...it was getting so damn annoying.

There were times when those axe commercials literally played 3 times in one break. And they played at least once in every break.

I know this doesn't really have anything to do with RAW or wrestling, but it was just getting real annoying last night.

For those that might have forgotten, the last KOTR winner was... Booker T. He certainly didn't need a push, but he got majorly over with the gimmick.

Here's what I can see happening: Regal starts wrestling more often, often abusing his power as GM to swing the matches in his favor. At some point, one of the McMahon's comes out and sh!tcan him as GM because of his actions. Regal then can go on a rampage and really show off his "Born Naughty" streak.

I was so fucking pumped up when they opened the show with Jericho/MVP and followed with Punk/Hardy. I was thinking that this tournament was about to kick all kinds of ass, and I was jammed about it......but ugh. What the fuck happened? Regal looked good and there were some good (short, but decent) matches, but damn. I'm not going to get upset about this just yet, as I'd like to see where they go with it, but overall, a pretty sour taste was left in my mouth.
