What's exactly wrong with it? I've seen Beth Phoenix press two men above her head at the same time, and hit them with a Death Valley Driver. She's a good wrestling talent. If you were going to make any woman a credible opponent for male workers on the WWE roster, Beth Phoenix is the best candidate running. She's 150lbs or so, which puts her at the same weight as Spike Dudley, and just a few points behind, say, Rey Mysterio. It'd be like a cruiserweight getting a run with the IC Title.

I'd also like to see Awesome Kong get a chance to mix it up with the guys in TNA. Although, Kong is a lot bigger than Phoenix.

But yeah, to be honest, Santino Marella as IC Champion and Beth Phoenix as Women's Champion are probably the best ways to go. Or having Kofi Kingston and Mickie James retain.

With all the couples going around on RAW, at the moment, I wonder if it would truly be ridiculous to introduce some sort of "Intergender Tag Team Championship."

It's just lame and unrealistic. The logic of "If you're going to make any woman a credible opponent for male workers on the roster..." doesn't strengthen the argument. Chyna was a credible opponent for SOME of the male workers. That doesn't make her a title reign any less of a joke.

If you would feel good about Beth Phoenix holding a title that has the history of the IC title, then you might as well make your case for her being world champ. She's still not realistically in the league of the guys who should hold the second-tier title. It's just a ridiculous thought.

And for everyone who says "The title has already been shit on enough, why not use it for comedic purposes and have Beth win it"... congratulations, you are on par with the WWE writers most of you talk so badly about. You're basically saying "instead of trying to save the title, just shit on it some more." That's retarded and anyone who goes along that logic can never honestly claim lazy writing on the part of WWE again.

So, #1-wwf-fan, were you completely against Rey Mysterio as World Heavyweight Champion? I know it isn't the same thing, but Rey is a tiny guy and is barely credible against most of the upper card WHC contenders. Yet he was loved as the champion.

With Phoenix, she's as credible as Rey is against the male roster, and it's "only" the I/C belt. Christ, if she has it for a month or so, what harm will it do, really?

This is wrestling. It's not real. The titles aren't real, in the sense that they are not awarded for any real accomplishment other than being pushed. Get a grip, it's entertainment.

I wasn't really for Rey being champion but he was more credible than Beth Phoenix. Rey had years of legitimacy against male wrestlers as well.

And if we're going by the logic of it not mattering because the titles are not awarded for anything other than being pushed, then Cena was an amazing champion. On of the greatest ever. The man barely ever lost a match.

The fans (the ones that WWE cater to) loved Cena. So yes, Cena was successful as a champion, many times over. Sure, WWE had been pushing Cena down our throats to the point where people were starting to boo him, but they've been going easy on shoving him in our faces.

All I'm saying is that it's entertaiment and sometimes we take it too seriously, and get angry when things happen that offend our high class tastes.

Phoenix as an I/C champ for a month or so would be no worse than Rey being WHC for nearly 4 months, or Hogan winning the WCW belt with the Fingerpoke of Doom.

I take it seriously in the sense that it would be bad entertainment. Just like when people get pissed about the little nuances in a movie and go off on long rants. There's a reason wrestling message boards exists.

Bottom line, I'm not gonna rant and throw a fit if Beth wins the IC Title but at the same time, it would be a horrible step down for the second-tier title and a terrible decision.
