No, I'm not saying it to piss off the WWE contingent.
And I'm not saying that Impact has been the best wrestling show I've ever seen or anything, but it makes RAW look pretty weak in comparison. Some of you want to put this on the roster split, creative, Vince, etc. Here's a crazy idea:
Blame the wrestlers.
Hate the roster split or not, there is more than enough talent on both sides (for the sake of this argument, I'm not counting ECW which most acknowledge as a developmental brand anyways) to produce a show worlds better than Impact. You have a solid group of main event guys on Raw and some useful parts on Smackdown as well. But I guess that Vince has the outlook that business is down, so we'll go with the same crap that's gotten him to this point. Problem with that is that it is the EXACT same crap. It didn't draw before and its not gonna draw now. Its interesting, considering the majority of what we see on TNA is mostly recycled WWE crap, it should be an even bigger reason to be superior. Still, its not.
The main event mafia angle isn't all that amazing. I wasn't crazy about it when it was the millionaires club in WCW. Yet, it should show you how bad WWE is when the recycled garbage is more compelling than a live RAW. (I'll wonder aloud if I was the only one who shut the TV off at 10:45 stating that the main event is just gonna end in a massive brawl amongst all the lumberjacks) Anyways, watching TNA feels like watching the minor leagues of baseball whereas WWE feels like the majors.
And you know what? It ain't a bad thing. Watching guys who actually wanna put some effort in and look like they give a crap about the match. I suppose the term I'm looking for is 'hungry' Say what you want about Coma Joe, AJ, etc, but there's some actual intensity in there, which is especially noticable when I'm watching guys like Orton, Batista, etc mail it in every Monday Night.
Discuss your stance on Impact vs Raw.
