No not at all. On the main menu there is an option to 'Import from SVR', click on it and you get options of Import superstars and import caws. Importing superstars is worth it, as it automatically transfers all of the available superstars straight over, which roughly doubles the roster size. When you chose to import CAWs you can just select which CAWs you want to import, be it just the one, a few, or all.

Needless to say, if anything its a nice refreshing change from the Smackdown series, which as we know barely changes from year to year.
But if you want a "refreshing change" you may as well play TNA Impact, currently found in bargain bins across the world right now.
It's like saying "Chicken never changes from year to year, for a refreshing change, I think I'll enjoy human feces"

If someone strapped me down and said play either TNA iMPACT or LoW for the rest of your life or else, I'd pick TNA every time.
If LoW and TNA swapped engines, I bet more people would still prefer LoW just because of what it is and not how either game plays.

Really? Maybe its just from a personal stand point. I just found every match in TNA to be the same, as well as the characters who basically had the same moveset, bar the finisher. I got very frustrated with TNA, alot of the time. Whereas I'm actually enjoying LoW

So I bowed to my inner mark for nostalgier and bought this, manged to find it fairly cheap, so that was a bonus off the bat.
Got to agree with LOD, from what I've played I've actually enjoyed it. Yeah, its no way near perfect, but its ok. Working my way through Relive mode, currently on a losing streak in the Austin/Michaels one due to really annoying objectives.
Oh btw LOD, that Kane dvd is awesome.

If you import the SvsR superstars over what happens to their move set? Is it redone to fit the game style or are they the same controls and moves from SvsR?

LOL at Disturbed being stuck on the same match as me. The objectives are pretty demanding. Reverse SCM twice. So I have to let HBK beat on me enough for him to get 2 finishers, use them, and then after I reverse them, try not to lose with blatently no health.
I played the rumble and the HIAC last night. Rumble is awesome as the youtube video showed, no faults. Maybe if you could get more than two people to eliminate others, and make it so bigger people are harder to lift over, therefore making team ups manditory? Just a thought.
HIAC seems odd at first. You start off at the top of the cell(the beginning animation seems to copy the start of Foley/Taker), and once someone goes through or over, you stay down the bottom. No big deal though.
Once down, the 'special moves' will allow you to body slam or suplex people through or into the cage walls. Pretty cool.
Now on my first match, after that it finished like an ordinary match. My second match was where I found something cool. Out of the blue I Jake Roberts into the steps, and the steps moved. Underneath was a brown bag. At first I thought 'awesome, its Damien or something', until it said double tap B to pick up. I did and it triggered an animation of my guy taking the bag into the ring and tipping out thumbtacks.
Que the end of the match when myself and Jake were fighting mid ring, he got dazed. The 'press A for special move' que came up,and I pressed it. CHOKESLAM ON THE TACKS BAH GAWD! Pretty cool.
Another observation is that the cell is alot more to scale than SVR, giving more room to manuver between ring and cage this time.
So even if they dont make this into a series of its own (hopefully Legends of Summerslam, etc) then at least they can implement certain aspects of this game over to SVR to improve that side of things.

Thanks for the DVD recommendation Disturbed. I was torn between the Kane DVD, the new Eddie DVD and the RAW 15 DVD at payday.
I think the BOD mark in me will get the Kane DVD come the end of the month.

Hmmm....HBK and Takers alt attires are a little dissapointing. The Undertakers is the pre minstry attire. Except he has the same entrance. Which means he has the hat.
And for whatever reason he has the same tattoos as the older model.
As for HBK....Rockers attire. But no sign of Marty. Perhaps he's unlockable? If not then it makes the whole thing kinda pointless. Plus he keeps the same entrance as well.
Never mind I guess, could be worse.

There are no unlockable wrestlers. There are unlockable costumes however. I unlocked Shawn's before I put the DVD+R in the bin, never looked at it though to see what it was.

Rented it. Decent rental at least. All you have to do to get SvR wrestlers in is have a Smackdown vs Raw save present. Gonna try Orton vs Mr Perfect next! WOOOOO
And then I'm gonna create...

Hasney is painting an unrealistic picture of this game. If you like SVR you'll probably like this cause they're on par with one another. Not poor, not great. Floating in limbo in the middle.

Whats unrealistic? The hope that they would make a good game?
The whole design seems to be:
1) Get WWE rights
2) Make Legends game
3) ???
4) Profit
Like you said, it's in limbo. Considering the same company, with the same license, made Day of Reckoning, No Mercy & HCTP (DoR and HCTP were even the same devs FFS) means we should not accept sub-par bullshit.
'Tis nowhere near as bad as you make out though

YOu pretty much said it yourself, the game is mediocre. Nothing to be irate about. More average games from a company who's gotten comfortable making average products. Nothing unexpected.

Has anyone else transferred their SVR CAW, then had to beef them up because they look so weedy compared to the legends?
My CAW was pretty average on SVR, but on LOW he looks tiny compared to Jake Roberts...

I'm still kinda enjoying this game. I just wish there was a half way point between this and SVR. Basically SVRs realism and gameplay combined with this games match gameplay, like the cage, HIAC, Royal Rumble etc.

Made a pretty close looking Sid. Now I'm gonna REWRITE Wrestlemania 13 and have him defeat the Undertaker. Which he would have done for real if it wasn't for Bret Hart.
Also, gonna copy him and change his trunks to blue and create Sid Justice and rewrite Wrestlemania 8 and the Royal Rumble where he got screwed by Hogan.

As much as I hate to say it (as I had really high expectations here), this game is horrible.
Well, maybe not even -horrible-, but certainly mediocre. Even so, I've definitely played worse wrestling games (loooking at you, Nitro), and even worse WWE games. So I can't complain too much.

I was going to ask if there was a good CAW mode. I assume it's pretty much the same as before, or has it improved?
There's a few legends I'd love to create that sadly didn't make the cut in the game. i.e. Randy Savage, Bad News Brown, etc.

Gonna sell this by the end of the week. I feel I've played it to death, and gotten pretty much all I can out of it already. I just need to finish the last two tiers of Legend Killer.
It is a fun game, and I have enjoyed it. But once I've completed the modes available and unlocked everything I won't see any need to keep hold of it, where as I do with SVR.

:y: This, and the size of the HIAC. So much more accurate than SVR. You actually have room to fight around the ring. Being able to utilize the steps as well as the cell is a bonus. Perhaps if they do make SVRs HIAC more like this, they should include weapons such as tables, and the thumbtacks which were pretty cool. Just that there have been plenty of HIAC matches with weapons, so it seems quite odd to play SVR, and only have the ring bell as a weapon.

Oh, and the idea of being able to freely escape through the cage door. The whole 'superplex into crawling mini game' can be cool, but if you don't succeed the first time, it can look a little silly. Alternativly, simply trying to break the door open before the oposing player gets to you and stops you seems much more realistic.

Traded this in today for Broken Sword for the Wii. Gonna download the DLC for SVR at the end of this week. It could be better, but its the best wresting game at the moment IMO. Its got plenty of playability in it yet, more than Legends could have had, as much fun as it was.

I haven't played this yet and I want to.
I was reading this strategy guide for it. In Rewrite mode, you HAVE to do it the way the game wants? For example, JYD beat Valentine at Wrestlemania via countout. Can you make Valentine win or in order to "beat" the game you have to make JYD wn by pinfall?
Cause if so, I would have Andre/Hogan over in 30 seconds when Hogan lifts Andre and Andre falls on him. That'll be all she wrote.I'd also have the ring break.

I have no big complaints so far cause I only played one match, the only complaint I got is that its hard to get used to and they dont have Big BOssmans old music.
