Just to be fair, WWE Films was never really that bad to begin with. The Marine was solid, the Condemned was solid, and I can't comment on I Scream M...Errr...Cena Evil, but I hate the genre, so I'm not sure my opinion on that one would be any measure of quality.

I think the biggest problem with WWE Films is the Waterworld effect. I mean, there are quality concerns as well, and Waterworld was probably doomed from the start, but after so much money and hype, the movie was fucked.

Similarly, after all this hype for WWE films, talk for a couple of years even, anyone who was interested (e.g. anyone not going "lolwrestlersacting") probably expected a little better than a high-budget B-movie. Maybe not much more, but like, a B+ movie.

But you compare these movies with other summer blockbusters, and it's about on par. And compared to other, similar genres of movie, they're fucking brilliant. I mean, video game and comic book movies (barring Batman and a couple others) make the Marine look amazing.

It sounds like someone's cousin wrote this thing. The lines featured in the trailer, plus the blandness of the plot. What I meant earlier is that I'll see it, but I'm certainly not going to rush to opening day. I was on the fence about seeing The Marine because I love cheesy action movies, but I don't love John Cena's acting. I'd heard mixed reviews ("It was a good cheesy action flick" and "It was the worst movie ever"), so I decided to find out for myself. Turns out I was right: It was a good cheesy action flick with a not-so-great lead guy.

Now that I know what to expect, I'll see this. My love for cheesy action movies will win out over my disdain for John Cena's acting.

It would make sense, but it would also be interesting if they excluded their movies from the PG edict altogether (to try to reach all movie-goers and not just people who watch wrestling).

Yeah Behind Enemy Lines III is R, so was See No Evil. It would be better for them to, as you said, cater to the adults watching. You can figure most parents will buy this for their little wrestling fans, but the non-wrestling fans may not go for a cheesy action movie if it was rated PG. (I would, but I'm just one guy.)

Did the same thing, had the same result. It was shit blowing up, decent fight scenes, and I had fun watching it. It does make me want to see Kennedy's movie. Hell, I will even give the Marine a shot, there's a Wal-Mart close by.
