I don't see why it should be bigger news at all.

After all, the economy doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care who the fuck it takes down with it.

I'm sure the economy has something to do with it, but I am sure there will be effects of this in terms of the product. If your company's profits are beginning to fall, you act, regardless of the reason.

Will the number of employees released earlier this year be enough to reverse this decline, or will further action be taken?

Well this probably has more to do with it than anything:

Comparability of Results
WrestleManiaXXV occurred on April 5, 2009, and consequently will be included in our second fiscal quarter financial results. However, WrestleManiaXXIV occurred on March 31, 2008 and was included as part of our first quarter results in 2008. WrestleManiaXXIV contributed approximately $31.3 million of revenues, $7.1 million of profit contribution ($4.6 million, net of tax) and $0.06 of EPS from across our various business lines in the first quarter of 2008. For comparative purposes, pro forma schedules excluding the impact of WrestleMania XXIV have been provided in the supplemental information included in this release.]

That must be it. It holds together so well.

Well done, you read the whole article.

But even with this included, the numbers are still down.

Well, 30 million is a large chunk of the 50 million they are down compared to Q1 08. The economy and lower business would account for the other 20 million.

I'm sure that sinking money into "12 Rounds" plays at least some role in this as well.

Chances are pretty good.

Except, of course, to anyone who's put any thought into it.

Are you mildly retarded? If they would have put less money into the movie, then they would have made a better profit off of the movie.

Budget: $20 million
Gross revenue: $15,265,550

As of right now, that's $5m. So yeah, I think WWE needs to focus more on their core product. Especially in these hard times. People care about what they do, not what they are trying to do.

Or if they'd used the 20 mil to make a movie that didn't blow goats.
