Unlike you, who will automatically hate anything WWE, or at least Cena, related, without doing your research.

Yet you do exactly the same thing. You're bashing a product which I'm assuming your don't watch currently. How can you do that?

I have never said I hated CZW. From what I have seen it is a bunch of guys who don't really wrestle and throw a bunch of light tubes at each other. The first round of clips you posted met my expectations on that front. The second clip, was better. That's basically saying it didn't feature anybody flying off of a building or getting a needle through their face. It did look quite spotty though. Obviously it was a highlight reel so it was intended to look spotty, but when I say it looked spotty I mean it looked spotty in the highly unrealistic indy pro wrestling spot way. Bad spots.

well it is a highlight video after all,
and if this match happened in the wwe you would think it was the greatest wrestling match ever and don't even try and deny it

No, it would still be a spot fest, full of pointless bumps and spots such as two guys standing on the outside waiting for the guy on top to jump off a box which happens to be placed on the turn buckle.

But yeah, if I watched it would be the greatest thing ever.

Why do wrestlers in CZW fear holds? Do they have places to go?

bias against any 'deathmatch' wrestlers and the companies that showcase them

It's not that we don't like it because it's not WWE, we don't like it because it's disgusting.

As you can see, I've already covered this.

CZW has had my favorite feuds on the indies so i'm kinda partial to it at times.

kareru, just so you know, that kind of spot fest more or less happened at Mania this year between Matt and Jeff Hardy, and was generally received with apathy as just a spotfest.

Set up ladder/table/chair/whatever, do spot off it, rinse and repeat

That's pretty much the reason I don't like Money in the Bank anymore. Eight guys, two in the ring at a time for a spot, they get knocked out and then two more come in until someone gets the briefcase.

One thing I do want to make clear is that it is possible to have a good hardcore match, Foley is a prime example of this, the less is more psychology of how to do this kind of stuff and tell a good story in the ring is key to making matches like this work, sadly, no one else right now seems to understand that

Absolutely. Foley v. Edge at Mania or Foley/Edge/Lita v. Dreamer/Funk/Beulah were excellent hardcore outings in the WWE because of their pacing and the psychology involved. Before someone jumps in with "it's because it's in a WWE ring" no it isn't. If CZW was able to put on a hardcore match of that caliber they wouldn't have the reputation as the federation where you go to drop your opponent through a light tube cabin.

Honestly:

First 2 minutes seemed decent, but then because of the constant repetition of bigger spot followed by bigger spot, it made those bigger spots loose any potential impact it could of had.

That Tarzan spot was just stupid

Honestly, the only thing I can remember after watching it was that cool way a guy went from off a guys shoulders into a semi-wheelbarrow, that's it

It all comes down to selling and psychology.

I've seen it in plenty WWE hardcore matches.

I've yet to see it in any of these ridiculous CZW matches.

Also when it isn't just a typical spot in a match, the crazy shit is just magnified as opposed to watered down and lame. The Foley-Edge flaming table spot at WrestleMania 22 for example.

Which reminds me, if you want to see a picture perfect hardcore match in my book, Randy Orton vs. Mick Foley. Backlash 2004. Look at that and then look at two guys sticking each other with needles and shit for an entire match.

Hate how CZW chants sound like ECW chants.

I think CZW actually said they wanted to replace ECW as #1 hardcore wrestling company once ECW folded so it makes sense their fans just used the old "E-C-W" style chant for CZW.

And wtf is a 2 out of 3 lightube log cabin match? One of those videos only showed the lightube cabin once.

again, it is a highlight video so of course its going to be full of spotswell then don't post a highlight video and ask us opinions on the match.

HeartBreakMan2k
08-02-2009, 04:46 PM
First, if you want our opinion on the match then you should post the match. Highlight videos regardless the match are not accurate representations of the match. That being said, I have seen that match in it's entirety and it's a spot fest. Very cool spots, but a terrible wrestling match. It's not your typical CZW deathmatch so it's passable, but it's still not a good wrestling match.

Hardcore does not automaticaly equate a poor match. Van Dam/Lynn did a PHENOMINAL job bringing weapons and a hardcore style into their matches. Psychology is what made it work, it is NOT something CZW has showed me they're capable of when they do deathmatches.

In July 2005, Tony Mamaluke wrestled Mike Quackenbush for the jr. heavyweight title. That was probably one of the best technical matches in CZW. It's definitely under rated compared to other indy matches.
