Theres too much to quote so here is a link.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/fable-iii-preview

Ontop of Fable III, we're getting Fable II as an episodic download. As of September 29th we will get episodes 1-5 with Ep 1 being free.

We play as the son/daughter of Fable II's Hero. You begin the game trying to over throw the tyrant King of Albion by leading a revolution. You do this by gathering support, gaining followers and uniting factions. As you attempt to overthrow the King, you make promises and you can choose if you should keep your promises or break them.
Two new game mechanics revealed were "Judgement" and "Touch".
Judgement is, oviously, you making judgements. An example given (thats not in the game) is a woman is caught stealing bread. She is brought to you where you can listen to her pleas, investigate it yourself to see if she is lying by visiting her family to see if she is as poor as she claims to be etc. You can choose to throw her in the dungeon or throw her some gold.

Touch is the ability to touch those around you. You can walk up to someone and shake their hand or refuse. This can be built up to hugging, embracing, kissing. You can also use it to hold hands, pull people to take them places etc.

Peter Molyneux says "Imagine hearing the cries from a young child in the house, and you as a ruler storm in to save the child. In Fable I and Fable II, you'd get a button prompt - press A to save the child. With dynamic touch, you can pull the child out of the flames and the burning house."

PM is also giving a talk at GDC in a few hours so more info may be revealed. Fable III is due out in 2010.

Lionhead intend to add more depth to the story and include things such as drama. To do this they had actors act out parts of the story so they could see how things played out.

<embed src='http://videomedia.ign.com/ev/ev.swf' flashvars='object_ID=14328887&downloadURL=http://xbox360movies.ign.com/xbox360/video/article/101/1015497/fable3bts_trl_gcom09_flvlowwide.flv&allownetworking="all%"' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='433' height='360'></embed><div style='width:433;'><a href='http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/143/14328887.html'>Fable III at IGN.com</a></div>

There are a few things to note in the video. One being the list of bullet point shown at the beggining. Pause at 0:48 for a brief screen shot of a courtyard. We see one scene is titled "Sabine Intro" at 1:36. I'm not sure of Sabine is a character or some technical term for camera work but I thought I'd point it out.
As the video fades out, another list pops up. It reads:

Choice/consequences this time affecting everyone and everything in the Kingdom

Judgements
- Feel the power
- At anytime pass judgement
- Decide on the fate of the outcome

Touch
- Expression touch
- Dynamic touch

They've said they started working on ideas and concepts for Fable III half way through Fable II.
I'm thinking by 2010, they mean Christmas 2010. So thats still over a year to get things done.

Different dev teams, perhaps?

Lionhead have learned when to stop people coming up with new ideas for the current game and move them on to the next game so they can actually hit schedules. Valve have learned that lesson too (See: Left 4 Dead)

It can actually lead to a lot of good, like internal consistency, and ideas of what to aim for based on current limitations.

What bothers me is that they Nerfed Fable 2 and added a few gimmicky ideas like your dog. Naturally, I'm skeptical.

So I wonder if the plot is something along the lines of, you take whatever (male or female, apparently from the teaser) character you build, as usual, from early childhood, through a story that eventually makes you the King or Queen of Albion, who through previous and future actions is seen as someone the people love, like an FDR, or someone people hate and who opresses at the slightest hint of revolt, kind of like GWB 43...

You start the game as an adult trying to overthrow the tyrant king. You're the son/daughter of your Fable II character. It's set 50 years after Fable II and your save game from Fable II will dicatate certain things about Fable III (I'm assuming it would be what areas you destroyed and developed, what major choices you made etc.). Half way through the game, you become King/Queen and then you play the rest of the game as the ruler with new powers and responsabilities.

What is Natal?
A motion detecting camera being released for the 360. It's able to track you in 3D and, apparantly, able to detect something as small as individual finger and eye movement according to an article I read online a weeks ago. It has facial and voice recognition and can track multiple people at once.

Yeah, Fable II was great, I thought. Everyone else I come across seems to just pick out it's faults, though.
I've nearly done everything in F2 but I can't get the last achievement, "Collect all the Hero Dolls" because you have to go around asking other players to swap and trade with you for them.
If anyone here has all the dolls and wants to let me borrow/buy them, I'd appreciate it and I could pay in whatever you need, I have multiples of everything I can get multiples off.
Funky Fly only has to get that one achievement for 100% aswell, I think.

Fable III should be even better but nothing new has come out besides the developers going on the LH forums and saying small things about graphics being better, more regions, bigger variations in the regions and that the story will be dramatic and moving. Standard stuff you'd expect from devs on their own forum.

I really hate it when developers announce a game and then just don't share anything else about it. They did say we'd be getting stuff very soon, though. Hopefully that means just a month or so before a new trailer.

Receiving a live demo of Fable 3 (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-3/) from Lionhead, er ... head and Microsoft Games Studio boss Peter Molyneux during today's X10 (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/X10/) event, we learned that it, in his words, "is all about power and uniqueness." Well, that and Charles Dickens. (More on that in a sec.) Yes, the game is up, running and actually looking pretty far along at this point. But Molyneux was much more keen to talk about some of its new gameplay mechanics than anything involving graphics, sound or other trimmings.

First up, he revisited the premise of the game. It's set in Albion, which -- as we noticed right away -- has become heavily industrialized. You play as the son or daughter of the hero from Fable 2, with Molyneux confirming that you can import your saved game from that title, but that it "will make minor, not major, changes to the story." The game's structure will have you starting out as a "nobody," getting people to believe in you and eventually starting a revolution. About half-way through, you'll be the king or queen of Albion.

The Albion in the demo could certainly stand a change in ownership. It's smoggy, grimy and the streets are full of the homeless, poor and starving. The factories are full of everyone else, including children as young as five-years-old. Molyneux says that all of this is inspired by the works of Charles Dickens; in particular, Oliver Twist. As bad as it is, he promises you'll eventually have the power to change it all, should you choose.

Molyneux points out that it's important to be mindful of what you promise during your rise to power, since the second half of the game and much of its drama will involve deciding whether or not to honor your word. Playing through the first 50% of Fable 3, you'll be approached by characters who'll ask you things like, "Will you promise to replace these workhouses with schools when you're king?," and you'll actually have to put the promise in writing. One you're in power, these same people will come before you, present these papers, and you'll get to pass judgment on them. Will you keep your promise, or lose their loyalty?

<table align="right" bgcolor="#ffffff" border="0" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="10" height="111" width="176"> <tbody> <tr> <td> "Will you keep your promise, or lose their loyalty?"

</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Passing judgment will be done using what Molyneux calls "the most emotionally driven feature in a game," a touch mechanic inspired by ICO. In the first example given, the character's wife was in hysterics -- their child had gone missing. The demo driver was able to use his dog (yes, man's best friend is back) to track her scent. As it turned out, she'd just wandered off to play with friends. The touch mechanic (performed with the right trigger) was first used to admonish the child. (The actions performed by press right trigger are context sensitive to the other character's emotional state.) She began to cry, so the touch mechanic was used to pick her up, hug her and start tossing her in the air until she was happy again. The character then stood next to her as the demoer held right trigger to hold her hand and walk her home.

Along the way, he tried to go into a pub, child in tow. The girl said, "Dad, that's the pub! You promised mom you'd never go there again." So, yes, the AI is always "aware" of the current situation. Case in point: The second demonstration of the touch mechanic. The character walked up to a beggar and took him by the hand. The beggar, thinking he was being taken home for dinner, began to exclaim his tanks. Only the demoer was going to be naughty -- he led the beggar to a workhouse, where he intended to sell him. As they got closer to the factory, the beggar become more and more afraid, eventually pulling against the character's arm in an attempt to escape. It was pretty horrifying.

<object classid="clsid<img src=" images="" smilies="" biggrin.gif="" alt="" title="Big Grin" smilieid="3" class="inlineimg" border="0">27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="viddler_c5f9f0a6" height="346" width="580">

<embed src="http://www.viddler.com/simple/c5f9f0a6/" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" name="viddler_c5f9f0a6" height="346" width="580"></object>

Molyneux explained that the touch mechanic will also work when interacting with objects and in combat, though he wouldn't elaborate on either of the latter. He simply stated that this "is not a gimmick, but a really big feature." Emotes are still in the game, though they've taken a back seat to touch.

Next up we saw some combat inside of a vast cave, prompting Molyneux to explain that the "dungeons" in Fable 3 are much more "open" than in the previous game. He then went on to explain how your character's physique will change based on the weapons you decided to use; if you want a tall, lithe female character, use lighter swords. Wielding a large battle axe will result in your character becoming much more buff.

<table align="left" bgcolor="#ffffff" border="0" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="10" height="111" width="176"> <tbody> <tr> <td> "It also evolves based on your Gamerscore. It can be traded. It will be named after you."

</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Saying that "we're bored of making new weapons," Molyneux revealed that all players will be able to craft their own totally unique weapons. Every weapon starts sort of bland and will change to reflect the way you use it. It can also level up. Its look will change; killing Hobbes make it spiky, Hollowmen make it blunt, for example. The more you use it, the bigger it gets. Kill innocents, it drips blood. It also evolves based on your Gamerscore. It can be traded. It will be named after you.

Combat also features more finishing moves and level of gore dependent on how evil your character is. Every player will develop a pair of ethereal wings that will grow and display their power. Molyneux calls them an "extreme expression."

On the topic of co-op, he couldn't expound too much, saying only that "pretty much whatever you can do in single player, you can do in co-op."

So, what about those things Molyneux had tweeted would "seriously piss off" fans? It involves "simplification," he says. Health bars, for example, are gone, replaced by a FPS-like desaturation of color. The biggest change, however, is the removal of experience orbs. Molyneux likened leveling up in Fable 2 to using Windows 7 (go corporate synergy!). In place of the orbs, Fable 3 will rely on "followers" -- do good and get more, do poorly they'll leave. They're what will determine the overall greatness of your character.

With a Fall release promised, we're certain to be seeing much more of Fable 3 soon – with Fable 2 occupying Joystiq's top spot for 2008 (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/), we're equally excited and nervous about the changes. For now, we're giving Mr. Molyneux the benefit of the doubt. We're not pissed off ... yet.

I'm willing to bet a few people will try to run off with my child/wife. You can seperate now in co-op.

Molyneux says all of the contextual touching will also work in cooperative modes, allowing you to interact with other players in the same way.

The co-op will also allow you to separate in game, he said.

"You could go off earning money, while I go off to kill people," Molyneux said. "It's a true co-op experience."

I keep coming back to this shot. I remember being legit fond of my Fable 2 family and being able play with my Fable 3 daughter will be cool. The idea that something could happen to them permanently will probably keep me from introducing any of you to my family. I like that this game and it's concepts make me feel that way already.

If someone online tries to abduct your child or run off with your wife, I hope we can attack them. Oherwise, a lot of people online will be kidnapping everyones family. I'm going to be very selective of who I introduce to my family. I'd trust pretty much everyone on my friend list but most likely no strangers.

The dev diary is up. We can see the game in motion briefly a few times. Looks like there is a fair bit of blood in the game. The morphs are very interesting to me.

Some compiled info:
◦Fable III will be out in 2010 (supposedly November 1st)
◦In Fable III you start out as the son or daughter of the Fable II hero
◦Fable III will read your save file of II
◦The Dog will be returning in Fable III
◦There are extreme morphs such as Demon and Angel wings that will come out when you hit the expression
◦In Co-op you can bring your own hero and even your dog. you have separate screens and are not tied together but you have to stay in the same region.
◦Three Regions will be returning from Fable II (Bowerlake, Bowerstone & Fairfax Gardens)
◦Your weapon will morph with you depending how you use it, if you kill innocents it drips blood if you only kill enemies it will glow. It may curve depending on how you use it. Texture and colour depends on what creatures you kill.
◦Aurora has been confirmed as another continent
◦The touch system will allow you to hold hands drag people and throw your child up into the air amongst other things. It is context sensitive so when you meet someone you'll shake hands but when you get to know them better it will become a hug etc.
◦There will be more gore when you kill something if you are evil.
◦Many finishing moves have been added into the combat system
◦Fable III will have no HUD
◦Natal will be used in Fable III but it is completely optional.
◦You start out at the age of 18
◦There is no longer experience it is replaced by the number of followers you have.
◦Expressions make a return on the directional pad along with touch.
◦Your weapons will be unique to your Gamertag.
◦ Your Gamerscore effects your weapon, mostly visually.
◦ You can trade your customised weapon online and it will be named after your Gamertag. E.G. *Gamertag*s Hammer of Hobb-Killing.
◦ In Co-Op you can marry the other player.
◦ Magic has no cap and will just keep charging as long as you hold the button. You could charge your magic for hours and unleash a "Thermonuclear" like attack.
◦ Magic isn't set like it is in Fable II. In Fable III, your magic is set to items you wear (the example Peter Molynuex gave was rings). You wear the small items and each one has a magic attack.
◦ Magic can be weaved togethor. For example, weaving a fire attack and a wind attack togethor.
◦The name of the tyrant king is Logan

Fable III tie-in:
Can gamers expect a tie-in product similar to Fable II: Pub Games for Lionhead's upcoming Fable III? Microsoft's Peter Molyneux told attendees at X10 that something was in the works.

Molyneux wouldn't detail the tie-in, only teasing that the product is "a really cute, very very cute 'outside of Fable III' experience that I'm not talking about." Molyneux, who felt a need to reiterate how adorable the "experience" will be, proclaimed: "It's really, really cute. It's not Pub Games." Sadly, whether the "really cute" experience would be a Xbox Live Arcade release wasn't confirmed. What is confirmed, however, is that this thing should be pretty ugly. No. Wait, forgive us. We're pretty sure he said cute.

Source (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/molyneux-an-outside-of-fable-3-experience-coming/). Since that article was posted, I'm sure it has been confirmed as an XBLA thing.

Some intersting stuff. Marrying the other player is going to be something I'm sure a lot of gaming couples will do. If we can marry another player, do you think we can have kids with them? Sounds like it could be used as a 2-player fantasy based life sim.
I'm liking the whole weapon morph, magic weave thing to. Hope it's extensive.

You know someone is actually going to hold down the B button for a few hours just to see how big a specific attack gets.

They should cut to a scene like the famous F-Zero anime scene with the Falcon Punch if you pull off a thermonuclear style attack.

Infact, just make it the ending of the game.

This tie in wont be Pub Games so no worries there. I'm betting it's either gong to be a tie in where we play as the dog or as our Fable III hero as a really young child. PM keeps talking about how cute it is so I'm assuming it's either dogs or babies.

One of the voice actors/characters has been revealed by LH on Twitter.
And here we go...can you tell who it is? Reaver is back in Fable3

Great, Stephen Fry is brilliant and Reaver was my favourite Fable II character by a long way. I'm hoping he's around a lot longer this time. I wouldn't be surprised if he was brought back just so people could kill him.

Fable III is at GDC. I've been keeping an eye on tweets from Lionhead staff. The first article is up. John Cleese was confirmed as being in the game as our butler:

Peter Molyneux has revealed that comedy legend John Cleese is providing a voiceover for Fable III.

The announcement was made during Molyneux's speech at the Game Developers Conference. He showed the audience how the pause menu from previous Fable games is being replaced with a set of rooms your character can wander around, accessed at any time by pressing the start button.

These include a dressing room where you can see clothes displayed on mannequins, rather than presented in a list you have to scroll through. In the room is a butler, who Molyneux described as being like a cross between P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Albert from Batman.

"We were inspired by the idea that people kept saying we were making this game with Monty Pythonesque humour, so we got John Cleese as your butler," Molyneux said. Apparently the butler will lay out your clothes, picking a suitable outfit depending on where you are in the game's story - so fancy robes if you've made it to the role of king, for example.

"We have recorded a vast amount of AI dialogue and having John Cleese big you up in a slightly sarcastic way is absolutely wonderful," added Molyneux. "He is an absolutely fantastic character."

Fable III is coming this "holiday". Look out for a proper chat with Molyneux on Eurogamer very soon

They spoke about combat and touch as well and had a demo. Expect a video soon. Now, some screens:

I wonder what advances to multiplayer is coming (though we a pretty good idea what they'll improve first).

All we know about multiplayer so far is:
- We'll have our own camera and we can split up but we're stuck in the same region until we both decide to leave.
- You'll take your actual Hero with you and his dog into multiplayer along with all your weapons and items.
- You can marry the other player.
- You can see where your friends are at anytime by going to the map screen and pressing Y. Look at the above map screens, you'll see the Y button is listed as showing us friends. Peter mentions it in one of the IGN videos.

Peter Molyneux twittered (http://twitter.com/pmolyneux/status/10383564375):
Fable 3 we are defintly having natal

My guess would be to sign promises etc. He mentioned in one of the recent videos that we'd need to sign things. I'm sure it'll have more uses.

I don't know if I've mentioned it already but your physical appearance will depend on the kind of weapon you use. Using a huge hammer makes you large and muscular where as something like a rapier will make you thin and gracefull, for example.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Josh Atkin, the guy in charge of combat, went back and looked at Street Fighter & Soul Calibur to see how to get fighting to feel smooth and enjoyable. Hopefully, it'll make combat much better.

A little titbit from the UK OXM. Someone posted this on the Lionhead Forums.

Combat
Lionhead has worked hard on making the combat far more fluid this time around, so when design director Josh Atkins surrounded himself with bandits, he was able to dispatch them all in a series of silky smooth attacks. Instantly switching between a huge hammer and a rifle, Atkins was launching foes into the air with a hefty swing of the melee weapon and then juggling them with gunfire in a sequence of attacks that was more reminiscent of Bayonetta and Devil May Cry's gloriously over-the-top brand of action than traditional RPG hacking and slashing. To further add to the satisfaction, you'll be able to unlock a series of elaborate, and at times surprisingly violent, finishing moves that play out in slow motion.

If you go questing together and become locked in combat, Atkins reckons having two players in the mix will change the dynamic entirely. Like in single-player, you'll earn followers by killing enemies, but in a neat twist the game will reward you with extra followers if you perform combined attacks. They aren't canned maneuvers, but if you tee up a Hobbe with your hammer and then your friend shoots it out of the sky, the game will rightly recognise that as worthy of an extra pat on the back.

Co-Op ruling
You and your friend can rule Albion as king and queen. What's more, the team seems committed to ensuring the experience is in no way compromised. You'll be able to enjoy, ahem, intimate moments with your co-op friend and eventually produce offspring together. But what about absentee parents? Well, just as AI characters have relationships with the host, they'll also have relationships with the visiting player as well. If you don't spend enough time playing with the sprogs, your relationship will suffer. By contrast, if you're popping into a mate's game and he's already married, for example, you can flirt with his wife in an attempt to steal her away. Don't expect to be invited back too often, though.

While the big decisions will still be left to the host, the team plans to allow visiting players to make judgements as well, and any gold, items or followers that are accumulated in someone else's game can be brought back into your own. Players can even become business partners and pool their money to, for example, pay for property that is too expensive for either to afford on their own.

I was just thinking of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series adapting action game elements on top of an RPG structure. And the co-op sounds ridiculous, now I gotta worry about dudes stealing my wife as well as killing her. Awesome... for some reason. The prospect of marrying other player's avatars is interesting but being that we're most likely gonna create guys I'll pass. No Prop 8 in Albion.

Another famous actor confirmed to have a part in Fable III.

http://assets.vg247.com/current//2010/05/ben-kingsley.jpg
Actor Sir Ben Kingsley has confirmed he’s to appear in Fable III.
He now joins a massive list of other celebs to join the Lionhead RPG, including John Cleese, Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry.
He will play the role of the “King of Mist”.
“I’m a voice in a new video game shortly – Fable III. I’m a wonderful wizard character who is the king of Mist Peak,” Kingsley said to CVG.
He goes on to add: “It’s very energising and good for us actors to realise that [acting] is so diverse now. [Games] are as big a jump now as I suppose when cinema was invented, when people went from the stage to the cinema thinking: It’s not really acting, is it? Now, it’s video games – and it is acting. It’s very demanding.”
Fable III’s due out by the end of the year for 360.

Limited Edition has been announced.

http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/05/fableiile.jpg

It contains:

A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.

Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.

“Fable III” playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in “Fable III,” including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.

Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.

A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.

One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your “Fable III” adventures.

It'll cost you around about $79.99/£59.99/€84.99. GAME usually take £10 off the RRP of games, so it's closer to £49.99, really.

I'm getting Fable III for sure but I'm not sure about the LE. I guess if I don't buy any more games except the "must haves", I could afford the LE. I heard the Fable II LE was a shambles. That makes me a little unsure about buying this LE incase it's the same case with this.

Well, they did say we could take our hero, dog, weapons and inventory into each others worlds. We wouldn't be tied togethor and could run independantly around an area. We'll have our own camera and we can marry/sleep with/have kids with the other players.

I'm not sure what else they could add to that.

One more thing has been confirmed and another has been hinted at. It's been cofirmed our Hero now has dialouge and a voice but it's kept to a minimum.

Lionhead have hinted at naval battles:
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/14/fable-3-e3-trailer/ - Spell combinations, new melee maneuvers and ... is that naval combat?

Taken for the LH website (http://lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2010/06/10/we-re-at-e3.aspx).

They showed that as a demo while Peter Molynuex spoke about combat etc. Good to see it without him talking over it.

I'm liking the music in Fable III so far. Sounding better than F2 already even though I liked that soundtrack.

The thing I'm wondering is if the wolf will attack the girl at 0:54 eventually if you just wait, not that I would wait around. It just wont feel as urgent if the wolf stands there growling forever until you kill it.
PM is against the idea of violence towards kids in games so I can't see her getting killed if you just stand there.

Yeah, you combo guns, swords and magic. One article from a while back said comboing was similar to Bayonetta or DMC in that you can knock an enemy into the air with an axe and blast a few bullets into him before he hits the ground.

Drakul
07-04-2010, 08:40 PM
It should run smoother. The sluggishness in F2 was down to all the numbers, stats and items you had. If you had lots of items and went into Bowerstone, the game would reduce to a crawl. They've done away with the stats and numbers and pages of items so, yeah, should run smoother.

Apparently you have to wear different gauntlets for your different magic stuff. Probably gonna suck since you can't change clothes on the fly anymore and have to use a dressing room. Also, apparently there is no upper limit to how long you can charge a spell now, so you can theoretically charge a thermonuclear explosion-sized fire spell if you hold the button down for an hour.

Actually I equate them all as lame. I have no reason to dress an NPC.

At best they have to mean my wife or kid, then I'd bite.

Well, it's not just dress, I think. I think you will be able to choose how they look physically. You could just make your Heros ideal women and put her in the game and have him fall for her.

With all the clothing being on display in your dressing room, finding what you're looking for should be faster than scrawling through a huge list of 60+ items of clothing in a menu. If you know what you want, it should be pretty fast. You can still change whenever. The pause button takes you to the room and you're right back where you where when you unpause it. It's not like we'll have to go all the way back home to change.

Another thing about spells is that we can mix them togethor. You can wear a fire gauntlet and an ice gauntlet and combine them for a whole new spell.

I think the unlimited spell charging will be useless. Unless my super charged area effect ice spell covers the whole town in snow or something. I can't see them having spells be all that powerful. If they did, we could charge a fire spell for 20 minutes and them unleash it to wipe out every enemy in whatever area/dungeon we're trying to get through.

Having four dogs running around would be hard to do if that was the case, unless they removed the dogs when more than 2 people are playing.

The Fable III pre-order tool invites fans to design their own villager with over 2,000 possibilities; pre-order incentive includes bonus quest and gold fortune.

Great heroes of the past and present all know one thing is true: the revolution starts with you. That’s why Microsoft and Lionhead Studios are giving fans the chance to get into the action now before Fable III launches in the U.S. on Oct. 26 (This date varies depending on region). With the all-new character creator tool, called the Fable III Villager Maker, fans who pre-order the game can create and bring their personalized villager to life. Your custom in-game villager will deliver to your hero a thrilling new quest and 1,000 gold fortune, and then continue to interact with you on your journey to become ruler of Albion. I think it's very important to stress the point that this is an exclusive quest and the only way to get it is by placing a pre-order!

Fans can utilize the tool to create a male or female villager with more than 2,000 different variations, including an enthralling backstory for the character, unique personality traits, clothing, accent, hairstyles and the region they hail from. Whether you create a valiant ally, an evil villain, or perhaps the perfect spouse, let your imagination run free as you make your mark in the fantastical world of Fable III.

The fun doesn’t stop there. With the Villager Maker, you’ll be able to save your character as a desktop wallpaper and share your creation with your friends on Facebook and Twitter to see who has the coolest design. Anyone can start designing, but transporting the villager into Fable III is a reward given only to fans who pre-order the game at participating retailers. A redeemable code will be provided that allows players to bring their character creation to life in Fable III when the game launches.

We've made a short video tutorial explaining the Villager Maker which you can find below. It includes never seen before game footage so be sure to check it out. You can find the Villager Maker on www.lionhead.com/Fable3VillagerMaker (and xbox.com/fable3) and you can place a pre-order for Fable III with your local and / or participating retailer, or follow this link to our order page.

I saw a video interview or two with Peter Molynuex for some really small sites and he's basically blown the ending to the first part of the game. When he said it, I remember he had said something similar before which makes it all the more likely.

This could be a big story spoiler, btw. He mentioned building up followers to storm the castle and I remember the original ending for Fable II was going to be assembling a lot more people and having an all out battle against Lucians army. It's pretty obvious they have decide to put that in Fable III now. We'll have a big scale battle, storm the castle, kill Logan and crown myself King.

That seems to happens a lot.

BTW, Kalyx, are you using this NPC creator to make your Heros wife this time or are you doing it the old fashioned way and seeing who you bump into in the game? I ask because you are the person that seems to get the most out of that side of the game.

I'm not going to create my Heros wife. I'll just find someone in game.

Kalyx triaD

I'm probably gonna kick it old school and court a pre-packaged wifey. Seems 'right' to me. But I would like to make something of a recurring character, probably someone comedic if I could do that. Or maybe a rogue type dude, I don't know.

But I will find the right gal out of the premade population. I wonder how your family will react to your actions as king? Will the wife be known as the queen and your kids be prince or princess? Royal family!

Kalyx triaD
08-03-2010, 09:53 AM
I don't know if it seems weird but I totally live out story modes, especially games with lots of leeway for character creation. It helps the immersion experience if I empathize as much as possible my avatar and his story. It's not just, "Let me beat this quest/game". It's my story and actions and I 'feel' the world and events. I suppose the correct term is role play.

Come to think of it, I do that with just about every game. I tone it down if I'm set up in multiplayer. Raises more questions and reticule than I'm willing to put up with.

Drakul
08-03-2010, 02:43 PM
I'm doing the same thing with my custom NPC. I'll make a guy/girl that my Hero can befriend. If the game allows it, I'd like to eventually give them some kind of position of power when I'm King.

I wont make a wife because I'd rather just come across a women and play it from there. I can't make myself because I play my hero as "myself".

Kalyx triaD
08-04-2010, 02:45 AM
Yeah I try to play any game with choices in the story 'as I am'. Then perhaps in replays I play too good or too evil for gameplay purposes.

Drakul

When I play as "myself" I always end up being "too good". I have other files I'll play as a character, though. Like a pirate or a villain but most of the time I play my main file, even when I'm 100% through the game.

I've read someone mention you can start a business in the game with another player. I'm going to look around for something official on that.

BTW, can't remember if I mentioned it but, when you marry another player, you share your gold. So you can expect lots of gold diggers online, I'm sure.

So, Peter Molynuex did a talk at some "Engadget show" and the video still isn't up. Before the event, he said the first person to show up to the event with a box of Lucky Charms (yes, really) would get themselves into Fable III.

Be the first to show up at the Engadget Show with Lucky Charms and Peter Molyneux will put you in Fable III! (We've got winners!)

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/08/2010-08-04fable.jpg

Hey, Peter Molyneux is here at the Engadget Show, and his Fable III demo assistant Dimitri mentioned that he's looking for a box of Lucky Charms, since he can't get it in England. That prompted Peter to make an insane crowd-sourcing offer: the first person to bring a box of Lucky Charms to the Engadget Show will become a character in Fable III. Insane, right? What's more, everyone else who brings a box will get a free signed copy of the game, which is some seriously serious cereal. The show starts in 30 minutes -- we'll see you soon!

Updated: See that lucky guy and girl right up there?! Yep, they're going to be characters in Fable III. Congrats, Monica and Jay -- we'll see you in the game.

The girls is fine but the guy has a face/grin/glasses that make me want to punch him in the face.
Peter isn't looking hard enough. There are export shops in every city in the UK that sells American food. He's pretty rich so I think he could handle the slightly higher price.

They still don't have the Engadget talk up on the site but someone did record it and upload it:

Edit: The show is finally up but embedding isnt working. The camera work in the video of the demo is really bad. They focus more on the audiance than the actual footage. If you want good footage, here is a YT video someone recorded from the audiance:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NBLk5n8skaM&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;fs=1?color1=0xe1600f&amp;color2=0xfebd01"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NBLk5n8skaM&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;fs=1?color1=0xe1600f&amp;color2=0xfebd01" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Edit: Here is a link to the actual page video with an interview before the demo:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/06/the-engadget-show-011-peter-molyneux-fable-iii-milo-blackb

I'm watching the video on the site and reading the debug menu that comes up. Some pretty interesting things. Here are the ones I can make out and are worth mentioning:

6: DLC/ Premium/ Free Debugging (DLC already planned?)
1: DLC2 (a 2nd DLC?)
5: Child Growing Up (I'm wondering how far they grow this time.)
8:Building Conditions (Wait, what? Either we can build buildings, demolish them or this is to do with the redecorating PM mentioned in another video. One trailer shows a house blowing up so it could be anything.)

I'm liking the weapon morphs and the idea of taking people into battle. He says, towards the end, that you can take your child to fight. Given that PM is really against the idea of violence against children in games, do you think that means our children actually grow up this time?

Also, we're getting more stuff this coming week and the week after that is Gamescom so we are getting more stuff then, as well. A LH dev said so himself.

Edit 2: A dev on the LH forum said kids cannot fight. Soooo why did PM mention it? I thought he stopped talking about stuff unless it was actually in the game.

Lionhead's discussed the new combat features set to appear in Fable III.

Senior design director Josh Atkins told CVG that although the studio was fully satisfied with the accessibility of Fable II's combat system, it's now out to up the "dramatic impact" of its encounters in the third game.

"We worked harder on staging our fights, our music and our overall combat experience to ensure the encounters all felt different and memorable - and in the end, more action-packed than before," he said.

Part of upping the drama meant rebuilding the spell casting system, Atkins explained, and now players can utilise their powers' full strength from the start.

"Much like every other section of the game, the spell casting system has had a complete overhaul," he said. "From the moment the player receives their first spell, they are able to cast the maximum spell level, albeit very very slowly.

"As the hero levels up their spell ability, they will find that progressive spell levels will cast much more quickly, meaning that at maximum spell ability level, the highest level of the spell will almost insta-cast. This means magic for all levels is much less about standing about waiting to charge up to useful levels and is more immediate and fun."

Fable III will also introduce Spellweaving, the designer revealed, which once unlocked allows players to wear two spell gauntlets at once, weaving their abilities together for completely new effects.

"For example, if the player chooses Vortex on one hand and Fireball on the other then they will cast a Fire Vortex which sucks people off the ground and sets them on fire, especially good against those annoying Hobbes!" There are over 20 spell combinations to experiment with, he added.

Finally on the feature list are the new "morphing" weapons, which now changed to reflect the wielding hero's playing style. This, Atkins explained, means every weapon in Fable III is cool from the start - so no more collecting boring Rusty Long Swords.

"Initially, all weapons look very standard, but as the hero powers up, the weapons morph to reflect the hero's playing style," he said. "Some weapons have predetermined paths and missions the player has to perform to give them amazing new abilities while others morph to reflect exactly what the hero has done in the game."

He added: "When you are playing co-op these morphing weapons take on a new meaning as some weapons can only upgrade if you are willing to do a nice thing and gift them to another player."

Good stuff. See a bunch of new combat-focussed Fable III screens on this page and look for the full interview shortly.

Loving this so much. Can't wait to see everybody's weapons, houses, families.

This game will satisfy my role-play quota. Mass Effect and Dragon Age just doesn't do it for me. The Old Republic would be a consideration but I'm not an avid PC gamer (loved KOTOR 1 and 2). Totally missed out on Jade Empire, even though the subject matter was right up my ally.

Will probably get back into JRPGs next year for study purposes. Starting with FF13, and I hope to try out The Last Story as well. I'm not a 'single-player' guy overall so I gotta dive in.

I'm liking what I've seen/read so far, too. I'm really hoping everyones Hero, family, weapons, houses and kingdoms are truely unique, or as unique as they can be.

I don't want that thing to happen that happens with all games where everyone does the same thing. In Fable I, everyone apparantly wore the same armour as everyone else the whole time, SSFIV is full of Ryus & Kens etc.

I can imagine people figuring out how to get the exact look they want for a sword and, after getting it to look as close to it as they can, naming it "The Master Sword" (You can rename weapons. See 2nd to last screenshot above.) and everyone having one. When it no longer looks like the Master Sword, they'll trade it online for another Master Sword. Or whatever other "famous" sword you can think of.

I really want to know just how much power we'll have as king. They talk about judgements and "If I was king, I'd do this" but, really, how much can we do?
Can I legalize prostitution and murder? Could I outlaw alcohol and make attending Church daily a law? I can't see us having that level of detail in our power. I hope they talk about next week at Gamescom.

If you preorder from certain places, you get a code to put that villager into your game. They give you gold and a unique quest.

The video above might look a little weird when the Hero is running and stuff but a dev at the LH forums said the footage was captured when they still had a few bugs etc to fix.

It's out on October the 5th in the US for $59.99 and comes in collectors packaging and comes with a code for an exclusive ingame tattoo. Here is a video of it:

http://lionhead.com/cfs-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Components.UserFiles/00.00.20.35.38/fable-the-ba.jpg

Synopsis:
The days of magic and adventure are fading away, giving way to the age of industry and science. As the aged last Hero sits upon the throne of Albion, two friends-the privileged Thomas and his loyal servant, John- set out for the East in search of a legendary beast: the vicious, rarely-seen balverine. But their desire for adventure may be their ultimate undoing-because their quarry has just found them...

It's also out on October 5th and will cost you about $9.99. It comes with a code for an exclusive ingame sword.

I'm noticing a pattern here.

I wouldnt mind getting them both if they are available in the UK. The controller seems sort of expensive and, as I'm getting the LE with an exclusive sword, I'd like to know if it's the same sword that comes with the book.

Saw this mentioned on the Lionhead Forums. Seems our clothing morphs as well.

1UP: So while there's been a lot of talk about how weapons will grow and change based on how they're used, but what about armor? Will that just be more static, or can it grow and evolve based on what types of damage you take with it?

JA: [As mentioned earlier], your hero clearly changes and morphs based on how you have played the game, which will also impact how your clothes look. For example as you get more powerful you'll see your clothes glow and change colour depending on the moral choices you have made. However what you wear, and how you dye, is also a big part of the customization process, and overall, we want the player to retain the control of what they look like. There are some aspects of the game where your actions will influence your hero's appearance, but Fable is known for player customization and that is something we're very proud to continue in Fable 3.

Is it too much to ask for nudity in games that are already designed for adults? I mean not like hardcore sex or anything, but the occasional tit. I kinda miss that in media. Remember in Lethal Weapon that there was nudity for the sake of nudity but it wasn't obscene or in your face about it. I want to see that in video games. And Fable might as well being they you can have sex in the game.

Drakul
08-18-2010, 12:08 PM
There is no nudity because anytime anyone shows off any piece of flesh that isn't a face or a hand, the media go into a frenzy about the "corrupting effects" of games on little children, ignoring the fact that any game with nudity is for adults anyway and that gaming is mostly undertaken by adults these days.
It's still viewed as a childrens toy by most forms of media.

If they put in sex, it's almost a guaranteed Adult Only rating in the US which means no store will sell it. So they'd likely lose a lot of money.

This video from Gamescom isn't on YouTube yet but you can watch it here (http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/gamescom2010). Peter Molynuex talking about Fable III for 10 or so minutes. Nothing new unless you count the gameplay behind him but he does mention how we can shape the game to play the way we want.
By unlocking chests, we can make the game more about combat or business or family etc.

I pre ordered the LE of Fable III a few weeks ago. For £52 I was getting the stuff I listed when the LE was announce but GAME have added 3 more items for preordering.

So, now, I'm getting the LE stuff:
The game (obviously) with special boxart.
An extra quest that takes place in a haunted forest called Silverpines.
An extra sword called the Wolfsbane which is powerful against wolves and balverines.
An extra region that is "Ideal for settling down with the family and finding new treasures"
A realworld set of Fable III playing cards with characters on them.
A realworld guild seal coin to flip when I get a tough choice.
An extra dog breed (boxer) "Known for its loyalty"
An extra outfit from Aurora.
All in a fancy looking "large leather-bound book" style case.

Plus I'm getting the pre order bonuses they just added yesterday:

The Dragon Breath tattoo set.
The Absolver, Hammers weapon from Fable II.
A code to use the villager maker which means a new quest.

Not bad for the extra £12, I'd say. I've also pre ordered the Fable III controller which is supposed to come with a tattoo set but GAME doesn't mention it so maybe they just used it for the Pre order of the game. I need a new controller anyway. The very next day they bumped up the price of the controller but I still get to pay the cheaper price.

What I want to know is, if I set up home with my Fable III family in this extra region, how can I take someone to see them online if they don't have the LE? Will the region be on the disc but just be locked away?

Drakul
09-03-2010, 01:35 AM
A little explination on the chest system. It's a system where you open chests as you progress to, supposedly, shape the way you want the game to play.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1MROZoVSsu0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1MROZoVSsu0?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

And they've update the villager make so you can now make black villagers.

There are other videos of walkthroughs but that's going into spoilers and we don't really learn anything new about the game besides story and quests.

I have no idea how to feel about this, or even why they'd do that.

Drakul
09-03-2010, 01:57 AM
A part of me thinks it's a way for them to see what they should do with Fable IV.
Through out the development of Fable III, they've spoken about stats and figures from Fable II (60% didn't change clothes, XX% didn't change weapons etc) so I could see them gathering numbers from this to see how many opened all the chests or how many only opened combat chests and so on.
From that, they could decide what to focus IV on and what features are wasting space.

Funky Fly
09-03-2010, 02:05 AM
If they're tracking that (ad you know they are), then Drak's right on the money. But it also does control the pace a lot better and make sure that you never play the game the same way twice. There was a bit of that in Fable 2, but not on this level.

Someone at the Lionhead Forums compiled a list of all the Co-op info we have to date.
General Information
1) When you enter someone else's game, you will arrive as your own Hero and bring your own dog with you.
2) The players aren't tied together anymore and can traverse the region seperately when online.
3) When playing co-op offline the players will still be tied together like they were in Fable II, although the camera has been improved a little since then.
4) Orbs appear on the 3D map in the Sanctuary as well as in the regions themselves.
5) Any gold, items or followers found in someone else's world can be brought back to your own.
Relationships
1) A.I. characters have relationships with the visiting player and will remember these relationships.
2) If you don't visit the same world often your relationship with characters there will suffer.
3) You can attempt to steal your host's spouse if you wish.

Families
1) Heroes can use Touch expressions on each other and have sex if they wish.
2) Two Heroes can marry one another.
3) Children stay in the world they were born in.
4) If the visiting player doesn't visit and interact with their child often enough then the relationship will suffer.
5) A Hero can have multiple A.I. and co-op spouses in their game.
6) Married players have a joint bank account that any of them can access for purchases.
7) Married players will be recognised as Kings and Queens if they've passed the coronation point in the game.
8) Married players share a home in that world and can decorate it as they please, overwriting each other's decisions if needs be.
9) A message in your world will inform you of any developments (divorces for example) in other worlds you have family in, when you go online.
10) Children go to orphanages or workhouses if two married players divorce.

Business Partnerships
1) Players can choose to pool their money and become business partners by paying for property together.
2) While the largest decisions about ruling will be left up to the host player, visiting players will be able to make some minor judgements too.
3) A message in your world will inform you of any business developments or give you profits from other worlds when you go online.

Combat
1) While there are no canned co-op attacks, the game's combat is tailored towards co-op.
2) Co-op doesn't increase the amount of enemies or how tough they are.
3) The game can recognise when two players have combined their abilities in an impressive way, and will reward extra followers for doing so.
4) Despite the emphasis on single player spell-weaving, two players casting single spells can weave those effects if cast at the same time and place.

Interview from PAX. There are a couple of minor spoilers though. I go into more spoiler detail in the blacked out text in the brackets.
A new expression is seen at 2:18 assigned to the X button (Rodeo). We also see a decision being made early in the game at 2:48 which seems very very minor but I think it will change how that spefic thing will unfold (I'm betting a hug makes it a friendship and a kiss makes it a romance and her part in the story changes based on that because she has been talked about by devs in the past. A childhood friend/sweetheart.). We also get told one of the bigger decisions we'll have to make as ruler at 5:15. I'm hoping all the big decions are that interesting. (Draining the lake could mean that we could get other decisions that will alter the landscape. Can't wait to see how I can change the actual world.)

A minute of co-op combat:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9vY6U3BxVpc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9vY6U3BxVpc?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

At the end of the co-op video, it looks like they were trying a double team move but one player performed it to early. Looked like they were going to sandwhich the enemies head between their hammers. Seems likely considering PM was trying to get them to do a flourish at the same time to the same enemy.

The achievement list has been revealed. No real spoilers but it does spoil some quests, minor characters, collectable items and mini-games. One is related to the end of the game so I've set that as a seperate spoiler. It's not the actual achievement that's a spoiler, it's more to do with the image that comes with it.

Some "Extras" for Fable III:

If you have a smartphone, you have a little app on the way. The app is called Fable III: Kingmaker. As I understand it, you use the app/smartphone to go around your town planting flags for the Revolutionaries or The Royals. It tells you how many flags have been planted in areas etc. This unlocks additional content for you.

Here but it's just a welcome page until 1st October (http://www.fable3kingmaker.com/).

If you have Facebook and/or Twitter, you can join this Revolution thing. There are at least 4 rewards to be unlocked. I think each reward is unlocked when enough people join the Revolution. Right now it's at "Grumbling Throng".

Here (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/splash/f/fable3/revolution).

http://www.gamegears.co.uk/images/products/zoom/1285166821-68542400.jpg

I've preorder the black one for £12.99. It'll get here in time for the release of the game. They ship to the US, Canada etc but I think it costs a bit extra.

Shop here (http://www.gamegears.co.uk/search/fable-iii#:t27).

They seem to sell a lot more merchandise for a lot more games than highstreet shops like GAME and Gamestation do. I think Fable III hoodies are on the way aswell.

Here's a trailer for Kingmaker, the Windows phone 7 only app game thing:

They have a new TV trailer up. I'm not sure why they did it this way because the trailer seems to be a pretty big spoiler and you'll probably see it on TV. Not so much in terms of story but in terms of presentation. I can't really explain with out spoiling it so here is the trailer and my explination as another spoiler. It's CGI and not ingame footage:

<object width="853" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/INrqSon7COw?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/INrqSon7COw?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="853" height="505"></embed></object>

I know we all knew that this was what happened at the halfway point in the story (Lionhead constantly told us.) but I don't think they should have shown us this. It would be a whole lot more "epic" if we thought we'd be attacking the castle with a handful of NPCs but this shows it will actually be a full blown army.
It's CGI and not ingame footage but it still seems to be showing what'll happen plus this basic scenario was supposed to be the ending to Fable II with Lucians Spire Army battling with an army of Heroes but that didn't fit so they seem to have moved it to Fable III and changed some details.

We are getting into seriously spoiler heavy territory now. I've seen screenshots giving away all sorts of things so I'm avoiding news as much as I can while still trying to keep up to date on non-spoilers.

If anyone is interested, one of the rewards unlocked for the Facebook/Twitter Fable III Revolution thing is an alternate E3 trailer. It's got some new footage and a different soundtrack but the speech is drowned out by the music. You can see it here (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/splash/f/fable3/revolution.htm) if you've signed up to the revolution. Click on the Fable III book in the upper right corner to see the rewards.
The other two rewards are wallpapers and a screensaver. I'm hoping the final reward is something cooler.

I looked on YouTube and can't see the alt trailer so I can't post it.

Microsoft announced yesterday that buying the game new would also come with some one-time-use codes. These codes will give you the following in game items:

•Raise Dead Potion - Call forth undead minions to your aid
•Slow Time Potion - Extend battle time for more attacks
•Scot Male Hero Outfit or the Scot Female Hero Outfit - For the fashionably conscious, try them on and keep them
•Highlander Tattoo Set - perfect for a hero or heroine looking to get inked
•Red Setter Dog Skin - Transform your faithful furry companion into a whole new breed

Source (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-6674-New-Fable-III-Media-Is-Swashbuckling-%5BUpdated-With-Trailer%5D.html).

I'm really hoping this is included in the LE and that the Scot outfit is a kilt. Nothing would look more badass for my Hero than walking around in a kilt with a huge war hammer over his shoulder.

Funky Fly
10-21-2010, 11:52 PM
Fuckin' want. I've preordered the LE, so hopefully I'm getting all that. Just learned from the blurb on XBLA that the individual preorder bonuses are different between Best Buy, Gamestop & Walmart. I got the Gamestop one so I could trade in some shite when it's time to pick it up, and it's a fairly cool-looking mechanical sword/winged cog tattoo.

Walmart has a fairy hammer/fairy tattoo thing, I dunno. Looks lame.

Best Buy's is the best though. Crystal sword/crystal wings tattoo.

Drakul
10-22-2010, 01:16 AM
According to Kotaku, the above items are in every new copy so the LE should have it to. It's going to take a while to input all these codes. I now have at 13 (possibly 14) items to download when I get the game.

The "fairy" hammer you talk about. Is it this one:
http://img.game.co.uk/images/widgets/w_fable_img_v2.jpg

That's the one I intend to have my kilted Hero use, unless I come across a better one.

Funky Fly

I don't understand why there are no preorder guns or gauntlets. You'd think they'd have Garth gauntlets with an extra spell and a Reavers gun with better accuracy or range. Instead they both have swords for some reason. THey both looked cool, thought, from what I remember.

Actually the "Garth sword" is the one that looks glittery and glass-like, isn't it?

Maybe the mechanical sword is spring-loaded, so it's actually a gun that shoots sword blades at you.

They've got one made of blue-green crystals on one side and a proper blade on the other. Looked cool. Only available through Best Buy in NA though.

Fuck. Wish I had a JTAG'd 360 instead of occasionally borrowing one. Fable 3 has hit the net :wavesad:

Dunno about that. The review copies are distributed over XBL anyways so the discs might have not left the distributers yet.

I hate GAME right now. I had the LE preordered but because the game is in such "high demand" they have decided to charge me a whole week before the games release.
The problem is there is no money in my bank until Tuesday so now I have to head down to the bank in time for it opening to put money into my bank but it might already be to late and the bank might slam an extra £50 fee on top of it.

Well, anyone downloading it, please avoid posting spoilers here. I've been avoiding spoilers like the plauge and we're less than a week from release.

Don't worry, I'm not big on ruining things for people, unless I hate the person. But you shouldn't have to worry about that since Clox doesn't post here anymore.

edit, no spoilers, Game is awesome, love the combat changes so much.

Anyone that ordered the LE from GAME. According to someone on the Lionhead boards that works at GAME and has a friend at the GAME HQ, there is a chance we'll get the game on Tuesday rather than Friday.

No guarantees, though.

Video diary of online co-op. No story spoilers but small details spoiled like what a wedding is like and one of the smaller perks of being king is mentioned.

If you want to avoid seeing the wedding, skip from 2:18 to 2:53.

Although you don't see it, one very small perk of being King is mentioned at 3:07, if you want to avoid finding it out.

It's up on the Xbox marketplace aswell now, you can try there. It doesn't show on the preview of the "add-ons" section but when you actually go to the list of "add-ons" it's there.

Edit: I just looked on the 360 and it's there as well as the outfit, red setter etc we get for buying the game new. Turns out the outfit includes a kilt. If anyone can snap a shot of it when they get thiers, I'll rep whoever posts it. I probably wont get my copy until Wednesday at the earliest and want to see how it looks.
