Greasy hair, dirty flannel, sweaty t-shirt - Bums.

Music blows- boring, depressing and too many retarded sounds that aren't even words.

Fuck them, fuck grunge.

Plus it is all half ass story telling. It is like those really bad poems your little brother or sister write in middle school or being a freshman or whatever trying to figure out why everyone is so mean to them. It is because your poems suck, that is why.

"Jeremy" is a perfect example of the above statement.

EDIT: Not Juan's.

My sister tortured me with that music when I was a kid.

Juan if you aren't going to add to the conversation or defend Pearl Jam, get the fuck out. You have to pick a side.

The Who.

Wow, I really didn't have you pegged as someone who would like the Who. :y: They are indeed a good band. As far as Pearl Jam, meh, they're ok. Not terribly into their music, but I do appreciate that they didnt' go super mainstream when they easily could have.

BigDaddyCool
10-13-2009, 05:39 PM
Yeah they never went super mainstream, doesn't mean they still don't suck. Yeah, anyhow. Opeth also sucks.

Maaan, too many people around here like to swing Eddie Vedder's smelly balls.

Pearl Jam...

yeah...

I hate how "Yellow Ledbedder" just drones along for a week.

I think I like "Do the Evolution" and... and... and...

I can't say I care for Pearl Jam. Green River wasn't bad, though.

They're one of the best bands of our generation and perhaps the best band out there right now.

Every album is different in a good way, no decline.

Concerts are fantastic.

Vocals stupendous.

Instrumentation superb.

And oh yeah, they do Who covers that sound better than the originals.

I can't stand Eddie Vedder's voice.

Half of the bands these days have a singer that sounds like this. Fucking horrible.

What are you, a drug addict?

Juan
10-13-2009, 06:17 PM
What bands do you listen to, sixx? No one I listen to sounds like Vedder

Sixx
10-13-2009, 06:18 PM
Nah, but really, don't you think that's a bit of an overstatement, even if you like them?

Sixx
10-13-2009, 06:18 PM

Creed for sure. And ummm... I don't know the names of modern grunge bands but I've heard a few. Like there was even a MadTV skit pointing that out.

Sixx
10-13-2009, 06:19 PM
Oh, The Calling for instance.

Juan

Also, this thread bugs me. If I listen to a band, and I don't like it, that's the end of the story. I just don't listen to them again. I don't get upset because other people like the band and I don't feel the need to let the world know I don't like the band. Why do people like to announce that they don't like "popular" bands that other people like?

Juan
10-13-2009, 06:21 PM
Do you feel like a rebel, BDC?

Zen v.W.o.
10-13-2009, 06:22 PM
Creed doesnt sound like PJ. That's an insult to PJ and a compliment to Creed.

All those guys you are talking about force their vocals. Vedder doesnt force anything, and his voice sounds 100 times better than any single one of them try to make theirs.

D Mac
10-13-2009, 06:28 PM
Creed live was awesome.

I do like some of Pearl Jam's music, Vedder's voice just gets irritating after a few songs IMO.

Kinda like Creed: like the music (love Tremonti), don't like the vocals.

Zenny, do you ever just like something?

You seem to only have two modes: NERDRAGE and cock swallowing. Like, I can appreciate that you like Pearl Jam, as well as Grunge, but this is over-the-top fellatio and completely ridiculous.

I like Pearl Jam. But I like the original Love reign O'er me better...

Cause I listen to the local rock station on my radio and they are alway on. Fuck, yesterday at noon Pearl Jam literally took over the radio, that is what it was called, Pearl Jam takes over the radio. And it pissed me off enough to do this.

I like Pearl Jam. But I like the original Love reign O'er me better...

I once saw the Who live in Chicago, I believe right after John died. They were doing Love Reign Over Me, and killing. Then Rodger stops said he didn't like it and the song was messed up, so they started from the top and it was even better the second time around.

Pearl Jam licks balls.

PJ wishes they had the chops the Who did.

BigDaddyCool

I've heard better singing from a gorilla choking to death on its own tounge while drowneding than from Eddie Vedder.

I have come to expect the dislike from most people. Its not as bad as U2, but its still bad.

Some of the new Pearl Jam songs sound a lot like newer U2 and Bon Jovi songs. Sounds sing about how nice it is to be rich and not have any real worries and how great life is...I hate the music.

BigDaddyCool
10-14-2009, 11:16 AM
I think the song I'm thinking of is Fixer?

Boomer
10-14-2009, 11:26 AM
Yeah The Fixer. I see the comparison to newer U2 and such, just because its ultra poppy, especially for Pearl Jam.

Lots of older fans complaining about the departure from Ten. Which on one hand I get because its probably their best album (though far from my favorite), but on the other hand they've been a band for two decades and basically haven't created Ten style music for well over a decade.

Sixx
10-14-2009, 11:27 AM
Thank God I haven't heard a single new PJ song. Or U2, for that matter.

BigDaddyCool
10-14-2009, 11:39 AM
Yeah, they are pretty awful. I don't know who actual listens to that kind of music...no, I think I have an idea. I'm guessing the people who listen to new U2, Bon Jovi, and the like are the kinds of guys that make $150k a year, have a trophy wife, a trophy mistress, and all the latest and greatest gadgets (but don't understand them) and just buy Sting's latest album because he is famous and it is a safe choice because they don't really understand the things the buy because they value things for the wrong qualities.

Sixx
10-14-2009, 11:45 AM
Too bad Bon Jovi is among these bands right now, cause I really like the old Bon Jovi. Seriously.

BigDaddyCool
10-14-2009, 11:53 AM
Yeah, Sting, Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, and U2 went from singing about real life to how great it is to be making a ton of money for not really having to work.

10-14-2009, 04:56 PM

How the fuck does one compare PJ and U2?

Do people even listen to music?

U2 does the same schtick every single time.

PJ has covered it all. Went from gloomy, depressing, to political, then to feeling more content in their later lives. That's just in their lyrics, as their music and instrumentation has changed with every album as well.

Know what you're talking about first before going off on some fucked up ignorant comparisons such as those above.

Sixx
10-18-2009, 11:08 AM
You sound like you would gladly suck on Vedder's balls.

Seriously, as someone stated before, can't you JUST like something?

BigDaddyCool
10-19-2009, 11:16 AM
Yeah, you are are right, U2 has done the same super poppy stuff since they started, they have never done anything with meaning or political or anything like that.

Much as I like to mock Bono and the Edge, if you think that's true, you've probably never really listened to more than 2-3 U2 songs. And I'm gonna have to kill you now, because Sascha will never let me live down defending U2.

In short, "All their songs sound the same" is equally valid for both bands. That is to say, if you're going to pretend there's depth to one and none to the other, you need to get said band's dick off your tonsils and stop being a fucktard.

BigDaddyCool
10-19-2009, 11:51 AM
If anything U2 has evolved more as a band from Sunday Bloody Sunday to the crap they are putting out now, totally different bands.

Kane Knight
10-19-2009, 11:57 AM
Yeah? Well, Pearl Jam has their own game coming out! With five versions of "Alive," And blackjack, and hooker! In fact, forget Alive!
