Blue Murder - Blue Murder (Released on April 25, 1989 on Geffen Records) - 10/10

Awesome album to listen to, from start to finish. Every song is so awesome, there's no way you can ever skip a track.

Blue Murder comprised of lead guitarist/lead vocalist John Sykes (who formed Blue Murder in 1988, after being fired from Whitesnake by David Coverdale after finishing work on their self-titled album the year before), bassist Tony Franklin (who was part of the supergroup The Firm with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and Bad Company's Paul Rodgers), and legendary drummer Carmine Appice, whose resume in rock and roll is very impressive, playing with various bands and artists.

Aqua's Megalomania album: 7/10.

Only negative thing to say about this is that their new videos have no Aquascope intros anymore. :P But still, they retained the same vocal bubblegum cheesiness of the 90's despite the sounds are very electro-ish and 2011 stuff much on the same level as Gaga's BTW album.

Mylo Xyloto. Not too bad, but not up there with Coldplay's prime. Major Minus is best track. Lots of short, pointless 'ambient' filler. Early impression: 6/10. It will grow on me, if I care to keep giving it the chance to.

Checking out the latest Nickelback album. (They have 32 awards for SOME reason, right?)

As far as musical arrangement, I can dig it. The harder songs have at least a bit of versatility in them. Still got that NB feel, but Chad knows how to sell.

Lyrically, not as racy as Dark Horse but whatever.

I'll give it at least a 6/10. It tries

Die Antwoord's Ten$ion album leaked download via bloggings: Take that, SOPA!!

Some tracks like Fatty Boom Boom, the 1st aside from the singles are becoming more Prodigy meets Skrillex dubstep type of music yet the fast rapping really intensifies it to the next level.

7/10. Although others are a bit rushed and the skits are short. Still, this album has more potential than any other fucked up mainstream American rap.

Recommended listenable tracks: Fatty Boom Boom, So What, Hey Sexy, Never Like Nkemise 2, And Baby's on Fire... Trust me, some of those really sound like total dubstep Skrillex style of music. You won't be disappointed.

I wish more music appealed to me. :(

I'm way too particular. Even music that doesn't offend my ears, and is pleasant to listen to, doesn't get more than a listen or two before I'm bored of it and back to the usual stuff I listen to. If it doesn't fit a certain sound, or the sound isn't EXACTLY what I want to hear, then I just can't get into it or listen to it more than a couple times.

The music that I do get really into, is music that I listen to for months, or years. I can listen to the same band nonstop for months and not get tired of them, and then revisit them after a couple months and do it all over again. Kind of frustrating, because I see other people seem to have really high opinions of a HUGE library of music, and can listen to anything from this huge library, but I have this really selective taste and I always wish I had more. Guess that's why I think so highly of the bands I do like, because it just takes a certain something to catch my attention for more than a week.

Jamey Johnson - The Guitar Song 10 out of fucking 10

This is real country music. Wow. I tried listening to this one day but just wasn't in the right mood. Came back to it some months later and it is incredible. I grew up listening to old country when I was with my dad, but I don't listen to much country anymore due to how consumed by the pop industry it has become. But this man IS country music. I could feel the pain and sorrow in some of these lyrics. None of the guitar playing was too much or too little. Everything was just honest and heartfelt, and sounded damn good.

If you like country music, this album is a must listen.

MARILYN MANSON- BORN VILLAIN
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/36/BornVillain.jpg/220px-BornVillain.jpg

Hey, Cruel World... - 8/10
A great start filled with an onslaught of sounds of distorted soul fire.

No Reflection - 6/10
"The standard over played single of the album" A good song but far from the best on the album in retrospect.

Pistol Whipped - 7.5/10
Cool intro but a bit too long, wish it had more lyrics but the vocal backup layers and music make a funky fun song.

Overneath The Path Of Misery - 9/10
Beat driven chaos with awesome lyrics. My new ringtone

Slo-mo-tion - 10/10
A--FUCK--ING-MA-ZING. Sexy, Dirty Dance, Catchy willed with beautiful layers of melody.

The Gardener - 8/10
Very interesting sporadic music. I love the fa-fa-fake part and of course the "your book" part.

The Flowers Of Evil - 10/10
Fucking love this song. Lyrics sorta remind me of Sopor Aeternus.

Children of Cain - 9.5/10
The keys, the lyrics, the beat.... oh my!

Disengaged - 9.5/10
Diamond Bullet. Love the songs, beats, riffs, lyrics...

Lay Down Your God Damn Arms - 8.5/10
A great fun drinking song with a interesting riff and some interesting musical elements.

Murderers Are Getting Prettier Every Day - 9/10
Astonishing Burning Flag. Killer beat, awesome solo.

Born Villain - 10/10
Another sexy song. The beat, the music, the improved "If I Was Your Vampire" riff.... WOW!!

Breaking The Same Old Ground - 9/10
Beautiful song, just wish it had more lyrics. LOVE THE OUTRO.

You're So Vain - 8.5/10
Fun cover! I love the vibe of it.. so laid back rock n roll!

9.5/10

This pistol whips Holy Wood around for a spot in between ACSS and MA as 3 of the most innovative and enjoyable Manson albums. The music has not been this good for a long time! I missed the band sounding.. like this!!!!

Halestorm's 2 albums: Debut - 7/10. Strange Case - 8/10.

Both albums are not much but some fave tracks and singles still stand out:

Ms Hyde
Rock Show
Daughters of Darkness
It's Not You
I Get Off
I Miss the Misery
Not an Angel
Love/Hate Heartbreak

At first when I listened to them, it's like I'm looking at Taylor Swift gone evil and metal. Lzzy Hale really does have nice vocal pipes.. And she does good covers from Skid Row to Gaga.. I just got into them last week thanks to my facebook and twitter friend who kept talking about it yet they only preferred the 1st album cos the 2nd one they say are just "generic". Oh well. I like both.

Love Bites is my absolute fave track at the moment. More energetic than the cookie cutter boring Paramore-ish bands.

Fozzy - Sin And Bones - 9/10 - excellent album, quite a few catchy songs.....

I quite like "Spider In My Mouth", it's a good introduction to the album and also "Storm The Beaches" is another good one, and I think a great song to end the album, unless like me you have the bonus tracks and "Walk Amongst The Dead" just catches you off guard the first time you listen to the album, after hearing the sound of the water slowly fade away at the end of "Storm The Beaches".

Speaking of "Storm The Beaches", I really like Fozzy's 10+ minute songs that they seem to be doing now at the end of their albums that also tell a story. I really liked "Wormwood" from "Chasing The Grail".

But yeah, I would also give Sin And Bones 9/10. :y:

Hot cakes by the darkness - 8 out of 10.

Took me a little bit to get into it, but by the second time around absolutely loved it.

Bought the new fozzy album yesterday too. Need to give that a couple more listens, but am really liking it.

The Carpenter by the Avett Brothers : 7 out of 10. Falls short of their last album by far but a solid release. A lot slower if you don't mind that sort of thing.

Dave Matthews Band - Away From The World : 7 out of 10. Lacks a really big hit but they haven't really had one of those since the mid 90s. A few amazing ballads but the majority is middle of the set list fodder for the next few tours. Not one bad song but def lacking in that lasting sound overall.

Mindy Smith - Stupid Love

6.5/10

It is decent enough, but doesn't compare to "One Moment More" or "Long Island Shores".

I have been listening to the new self-titled Mindy Smith album, and it is a stronger record than her previous effort. I'd go for 7.5.

Other new (atleast to me) records I have been listening to:

Baroness - Blue Record 7/10
Eugen Jochum/Chor Und Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin - Carl Orff: Carmina Burana 9/10

Yes, I think you are a dick as well.

But anyways, I saw them last month supporting The Dum Dum Girls, whilst I was in Copenhagen, and I thought they were pretty decent. Better live, methinks. The singer almost spilt his drink on me after their set, the dozy sod.

Actually, the singer and his brother reminded me of you at the time, Fakelaser.

They live down the street from me. I have chilled with them a couple times. They are big in this local music scene. I've booked them for shows a couple of times. They own and live in the DIY venue Shea Stadium.

9/10. Really awesome album. I know Dimmu get a lot of criticism for moving away from the pure BM sound, but I love the symphonic style they've acquired. Really enjoyable album, and I liked the guest female vocalist on the Gateways track. Wish they would have a permanent female vocalist...
