Bungie just credit banned a new crop of farmers. Awesome. And this time, a representative is actually replying to crybabies and citing Bungie's logs to utterly destroy people's excuses.

Also, interesting observation: the majority of the 15k people who were reset on 10/1 resumed playing after the 24 hour ban expired on 10/2.
me too i was just playin the game and i was on kill away so i played on other game and got it and like 2 mins later my sister called and laggged me out of game and it gave me it twice so do i get all my armor and rank bak im pissed bungie need to think twice about wat their doin gosh

If you want to link that GT, I can tell you how many times your sister called, when, how many times that resulted in challenges being reset, and how many credits were earned.

Boosh Court is wider. Adjusted spawn points so you always start on your side (no more confusing half court spawns). Added explosive items for extra score effect (blue team will have Covenant cores for blue explosions). Added respawn invulnerability for a limited time to curb spawn camping or getting hurt during a score (Boosh Ball is Assault).

On to Holdoff, I added some obstruction in front of each base to eliminate free space and offer spawning teams extra cover. You can also climb these things for a good view into the map.

Only people who played Holdoff would notice the back area's adjustments. There's a new wall (right of the left spawn point) that will force players to commit to their entry point. That also removes an unnecessary route that added nothing to the game flow. Added a pillar (near right respawn point) that adds a tiny bit of complexity to the back area. On the pillar is a health pack; there's more health packs overall in Holdoff. Finally added a way to go from the back to the center/top of the map (grav lift peaking out in the back). This makes the map flow like the Halo 3 original, and adds much needed options for people in the back area.
Wanted to show the new area in Air Raid but the pics didn't load. It's a small base on a patch of land. It's the stage of the first phase of my Invasion gametype.
And speaking of that, I finally set it up properly! Even got certain vehicles and spawn areas to work exclusively in separate phases. Very happy and eager to try it out.

Nothing's ever set in stone with me, but currently I am very happy with it. Hell, I just updated my fileshare with all of my maps and gametypes. Would like to playtest Air Raid for Team Slayer and especially Invasion this weekend. You're usually on in our wee hours of the night. Fortunately I'm something of an insomniac, so while you won't see any of my guys and parties, perhaps you can bring whoever you play with to check out my maps and test them.

Like the ships, some details were added to make it a decent playspace in itself. It would probably make for a good 4plyr skirmish.
The first phase of my Invasion game has the Spartans trying to take back this base in a tight one-sided territories game (one territory). Spartans still start on their ship, Covies start at the base. Did some interesting things with phase 1 load outs to encourage specialty (like Battlefield).
Second phase has the Spartans attacking the Covy ship to steal the flag in a CTF game. As stated earlier, Covy ship was nerfed to increase the actual 'invading' of Spartans. In this phase Covies will not have air vehicles but will have better loadouts than Spartans.
Phase 3 is an all out clusterfuck of air vehicles. Controlling the Communications Base will net you an extra Spartan Laser (my take on having anti-air support). The Spartans must plant a bomb in what will be a highly guarded area (Covy Ship engine room). Loadouts will still encourage specialty, but more weapons will be on the map anyway.

Less than 5% of players hit max. Legitimately. Cap raises in a few weeks with new unlocks.
I read that they were raising it already, so I figured a big chunk hit max.

Actually it was a loud minority of players (who are nowhere near max rank themselves) bitching about the level cap being soon. So Bungie dropped actual stats to show almost nobody was there yet (as well as where everybody else was, most are Warrant Officers). Still, Bungie always planned on raising the cap when the community passes a certain credit threshold.

The only time I find any of the powers to be pretty gay are the bubble shield on CTF or oddball type games. It is a minor inconvenience. Then I just drop the raid on those cockroaches. Game...blouses.

Okay Atom, the new Forge variant in multiplayer, is fucking awesome. The jetpack is actually worth a damn there.

There will be four structures total. What you see is just the house so far. The end of each street will have a vehicle enabled teleporter so you can continue driving. There will be a color filter.

Kalyx do you ever use Waypoint? Just wondering as the latest Inside Halo vid (I think it's ep 5 or something) shows a forge map with 2 airborne bases, looked fairly similar to yours - assuming it isn't though.
Had 1 game on Atom the other night and my team basically won by camping in our own base while the others were jetpacking around all over the place. Tried to have a look at it in Forge to find out where everything is but it didn't seem to be available for some reason :?:

Haven't checked out Waypoint in a bit, I'll take a look at the vid. I'm not the only guy doing 'sky bases', though, there's some impressive maps of that concept going around.

Anyone get the new maps?any good?I was going to get it but the BC2 maps came out....for free.
Anways i bought this day one but played very little of it until last week.Ive gone from a warrant officer 2 two weeks ago to a captain 2 today.

BC2 doesn't get new maps, it unlocks variations of maps on disk. The illusion is getting something for free.
The new maps are well built. But bangs for my aren't yours, ya know. I'd hate for you to get the maps and not like them, I'd feel like owing you 10$.

except that its 2 maps that are redone from BC1 Harvest Day and Oasis.Also 2 other new maps from the campaign Heavy Metal and Cold War.I see what you mean but the illusion thing but this time they actually made new maps and vietnam comes out the 21st.

Perfect?goddamn i was so close to one my first week of halo reach,whent like 17-0 before my teammate threw a sticky bomb at me:mad: then when i respawned 10 seconds later the enemy stickys me then its game over:mad:
Rumor is that the new reach maps will only be 400 points sometime this week.

<font color=goldenrod>Played this at my friend's yesterday. Pretty fun even though I suck at it. Like 90% of my deaths come while I'm reloading or getting meleed. Managed to get a few achievements already. Not sure I'll actually get the game though.
Played in Multi-team. Without fail there would always be at least one guy who bitched every time Rocket Race was voted.</font>

- Firefight Arcade (if you thought rocket fight was crazy...)
- Firefight Limited (plays like ODST Firefight, limited lives - so no more dicking around)
Playlist Updates:
* Multi Team: As far as major playlist changes, the most notable is Multi Team which now features 4 teams of 3 instead of 6 teams of 2. Since Rocket Race doesn’t work with teams of 3, we’re upgrading you to Rocket Hog Race! We’ve also added 3 Ball to the lineup to replace the regular Oddball gametype. (very cool)
* Team SWAT: New gametype offerings are now available in the Team SWAT playlist. New gametypes include Oddball, Stockpile and 3 Plots.
* Grifball: The Grifball playlist is returning for an extended stay as a Community playlist. We’ve updated to the latest gametypes and maps, as well as added the new maps Pinwheel and Oracle’s Revenge.
* Community Slayer: The second round of Community Slayer is coming and with it comes 14 maps (10 new!) built by members of our very own Bungie community. Similar to the previous run, we’ll keep this playlist active for a couple weeks. Play, vote and let us know which your favorite Community maps are in the Optimatch forum!
Gametypes:
* Bro Slayer: This new gametype consists of Team Slayer with co-op style spawning, featured on a variety of maps in Team Slayer, Big Team Battle and Noble Map Pack. Similar to Invasion spawning you can cycle through teammates or choose from your backfield spawns, but watch out for backfield spawn campers! (I actually tried to do this kind of gameplay but it was technically beyond me)
* Invasion Skirmish: Think of Invasion Slayer, with no vehicles and after capturing drop zones you get instant weapon drops that alternate between Spartan and Covenant regardless of who caps the zone. You’ll still experience loadout and weapon drop progression as each tier advances. Three flavors will be available including Invasion Skirmish (SvE), Spartan Skirmish (SvS) and Elite Skirmish (EvE). These gametypes will be available on a variety of maps in the Invasion and Noble Map Pack playlists. Spartan Skirmish on Anchor 9 is my favorite, check them out and tell us what you think! (interesting)
* Assault: Players may no longer disarm bombs while their Armor Lock equipment is activated, this affects all Assault gametypes as well as Invasion gametypes with an Assault phase. (dammit)

Ok wtf. I went to bungie.net to download the maps, but they don't show up in my active transfer list, or in active downloads on LIVE, yet when I click on another download link it says my queue is full.
Where the fuck is this queue?

Some of you may have seen this image but from Bungie's upcoming art book celebrating ten years of Halo, this image explains how Master Chief fell to Earth between the [infamous] Halo 2 "Finish a Fight" cliffhanger ending and Halo 3's "Luck" intro.

It probably doesn't sway anybody who isn't too fond of Halo's questionable physics. Bear in mind this would be the second time (canon wise) that a Spartan soldier survived falling from orbit. Tough SOBs.

I finally got around to playing the whole package just last month after my friends kept limiting me to just custom local games on the same God damn map. Online multiplayer is really the only saving grace. The campaign tries its damndest to keep you enthralled but it just feels like I've played this game too many times over. I didn't get too much joy out of it but I can't call it a terrible game.

I just finished the campaign last week (on Heroic, playing with somebody else). I dug it.
Multiplayer is indeed what Halo is all about, though. I miss big games.

The BTB ALL STARS playlist will be available for a limited time starting on 6/24/2011. This playlist will feature Triple Jackpots and players who compete in this playlist will be rewarded with a Star nameplate in-game.
To qualify for entry into the BTB ALL STARS playlist, you must play at least 5 games in the INVASION playlist between 6/13/2011 and 6/20/2011.

Microsoft gives away free digital copies of Halo Reach to those who had their disc copies become unplayable with the recent Reach update.
It only covers discs from the recent dashborad beta test and not regular or previous betas.

Before I read everything in here (nice bump)...I'd like to know if buying this game now is worth the time and effort. I have never touched the Halo franchise. Was always involved with Quake, Nukem, Unreal and semi-involved with Half Life.
I've always seen Halo players characterized as frat-boys and have no reference to confirm or deny this.
Is this something I should try?

Totally. Great single player story/experience, and of course excellent multiplayer. All modes have a multiplayer version, except theater viewing. It looks and plays awesome.
The only nitpicks would be things a Halo fan would point out; uninspired multiplayer map design and making certain gameplay mechanics oddly realistic out of nowhere. But a new person may enjoy the game.
You can also check out Halo Anniversary, which tells the story that takes place right after Reach, though you'll have to play an archaic version of the gameplay.

That's a good way to go. Anniversary also has multiplayer campaign, but the competitive multiplayer is essentially Reach multiplayer with Halo 1 maps. Something tells me you wouldn't care.

I'd think this would be a bigger deal but it seems there's some way to create your own challenges for your friends. Testing it out soon.
