You should post in the card thread.

There are 5 levels to that badge and a foil version. I doubt I'll get the foil.

VSG 07-15-2013 03:54 PM

Well, level 1 then :D

Do foil badges have 1 level or 5?

I think only 1 but I've never gotten a foil badge.

Boomer 07-16-2013 01:54 PM

System Shock 2 should be an insta-buy for anyone at $2.50, especially if you want to see where Bioshock came out of.

Extreme Angle 07-16-2013 02:36 PM

foil are purely collectible. No badge craft benefits.

Poit 07-16-2013 02:41 PM

Don't you at least get the 100 XP?

No. :p

Boomer 07-16-2013 04:23 PM

Insightful input, KK. :)

I'm honestly not a huge Bioshock fan myself, but I still enjoyed seeing them take the best ideas from SS2 and evolve on them. And I really enjoy hearing Ken Levine talk about the evolution of his games:

Treat it as a normal badge, so you'd get the 100xp for crafting...

Boomer 07-16-2013 04:33 PM

I just bought all the cards I was missing, made the stupid badge, and sold the rest of my cards for minimal profit. Probably only made a couple of dollars selling cards, since most everything is moving for around 15 cents.

Not sure what insight there is to add to the "buy it" "no" discourse.

I suppose I could write it in haiku or something.

Would you like me to write it in haiku?

Boomer 07-17-2013 09:32 AM

No, I'd just prefer you didn't say anything at all if you didn't care, but that's not your style, so whatever.

VSG 07-17-2013 09:51 AM

Forgot to update for yesterday but it was complete shit of a sale day anyway. Oh well, apparently Dead Island Riptide is going to be the featured daily deal today.

ClockShot 07-17-2013 10:00 AM

Found it odd yesterday when I went to Toys R Us to check out their big clearance sale (lackluster btw), they don't carry Steam pre-paid cards.

What you mean is I do care, just not in the sense that works in the favour of your statement. That's more the reason you'd rather I not say anything.

See? I got your back!

Neither does my local super Target, I was hoping to use a target gift card that way.

You can have an opinion all you like, and that's fine. I'd just prefer you give reasoning, but if all you want to say is no, I can't stop you. I post here to talk to people, and I'd prefer to know why someone disagrees with me. I don't come here to have someone twist my words around to their liking.

And honestly, you may not have a reason. I can't really tell why you would just say no because the comment is just useless. At least I give a reason for why I like something, as opposed to you disagreeing for some reason which I can't gather.

Like I'm seriously going to cry if you don't like and buy SS2 or Bioshock, KK. Oh god, my pitiful life is over, someone doesn't like a game I like! I've never had that happen before.

Boomer 07-17-2013 10:54 AM

I also bought Sleeping Dogs yesterday. Mark of the Ninja is definitely worth it's price (one of the better stealth games I've played). Gonna wait on DmC.

I am either running out of games to buy or Steam is seriously just repeating their sales now.

Heisenberg 07-17-2013 01:37 PM

I was thinking that yesterday, perhaps I blew my load last summer, and I'm just reliving the same sales.

Thank you for another update as well, Steam is blocked at work here

VSG 07-17-2013 01:45 PM

No problem man, I am the boss of my own time here so it is the least I can do.

I'd have snapped up SD if I didn't already have it for both my consoles (Bought it for 360 and got it free for +).

I'd be tempted to get it plus the DLC pack, but there's a lot of crap I don't want in there, the collection is comparably expensive relative to similar content, and there are points in the game I might pull a Fangerl* if I'm asked to repeat. It's a damn fine game, though, with plenty of potential that leaves me hoping they make a sequel that's bigger and better (and less busywork).

Been waffling on MotN. Stealth games aren't normally my thing. I don't hate them, but I don't go out of my way for them, either. Still, this game has gotten enough high marks that 4 bucks seems a veritable steal. Still, I'm a cheapass. Still....

*Which either means whine like an impotent bitch or break something, I'm not sure which.

I watched some Quick Looks of the DLC around when they all got released, and decided to pass this time around. I'm not big on adding small handfuls of missions to open-world games and spin-off universes don't work for me most of the time. I never tried Undead Nightmare, even though it got really well reviewed, just because I don't care much for that kind of camp.

And yeah, I had similar trepidations about MotN. I'm not gonna call it the best stealth game ever (and honestly, I tend to dislike a lot of stealth games...Dishonored), but it's worth it for that amount IMO. Going from Shank to that was an impressive jump for that company.

Boomer 07-17-2013 02:09 PM

Kinda want to buy Gunpoint for six bucks, but it'll probably show up in a Humble sale at some point. I tend to get a lot of duplicate copies of games that way.

I bought North Point because a few people I know were big fans and said the shlock was done well. However, it's kind of an exception to the rule thing, rather than my standard practice. I still haven't played it, because I got distracted by other stuff. Hell, I beat it only like two weeks ago. Turns out I was one mission from the end (granted, a long one) and didn't know it (though I suspected I was getting close).

It's still a good game, mind. Just, I suffer from ADLAS (Attention Deficit...Look, A Squirrel!) when it comes to games.

Extreme Angle 07-19-2013 04:47 PM

Anybody fancy trading games with me?

I've got a Tomb Raider gift, looking for Fez and Super meat boy...

El Fangel 07-19-2013 07:33 PM

Audiosurf, Baldurs Gate EE, Arkham City, Bully SE, Doom 3, Fear 1, Fear EP, Fear PM, Fable TLC, Fallout NV, Farcry 1 and 2, GTA VC, Half Life 1 and 2, Organ Trail, Qube, Serious Sam 2nd Encounter,

There are my purchases as well as $40 in gifts.

VSG 07-19-2013 08:07 PM

I finally know someone on Steam who did not have Half Life till now. Here's a tip- get Black Mesa Source for free from the creator's website and play it instead of Half Life 1.

SlickyTrickyDamon 07-19-2013 11:34 PM

5 bucks for Fall out Game of the Year Version for 3 and New Vegas. Maybe...

Kane Knight 07-20-2013 01:17 PM

Hey EA, you want Saints Row: The Third, right? It's currently 5 bucks for the base game and seven-fiddy for the complete set. Don't know what they are in limey funny money, but I imagine the percentage off is the same.

VSG 07-20-2013 09:03 PM

New flash deals are actually something new- Transformers Fall of Cybertron and the very recently released Mortal Kombat Komplete.

Poit 07-21-2013 01:43 AM

Also, FF7 as a flash sale.

The Destroyer 07-21-2013 04:00 AM

Nice to see them putting EVE Online on sale as well, even though it's a massively time draining MMO.

I caved in and got Prison Architect, seems like it could be a quite a cool game, even though it's only in Alpha just now.

VSG 07-21-2013 02:19 PM

Encore sale going on now.

Heisenberg 07-21-2013 08:54 PM

I bought Dishonored, going to give it a chance. I was told that I don't have to stealth all the time, so I'm going my route of hopefully getting to kill enemies on my terms.

ClockShot 07-22-2013 09:44 AM

Ended up getting Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 platinum out of this.

Mindless fun, indeed.

DaveBrawl 07-22-2013 10:00 AM

Ended up getting CS:GO because some guys at work asked me to so we can play at work and Torchlight 2 because I loved the first one. Never had even looked at Steam before this.

DaveBrawl 07-22-2013 01:44 PM

Forgot how much I loved Counterstrike. I'm not that good at it, but it's so much fun. Best way to spend your lunch hour.

El Fangel 07-23-2013 05:38 AM

31 new games. Egads.

El Fangel 07-24-2013 08:59 PM

Alright, what did everyone get?

Heisenberg 07-24-2013 09:04 PM

well, I didn't post all my purchases, but I got a fresh XBOX 360 Wired Controller made by PDP so I can play some controller tailored games. I can M/K with the best of them, but those games with the shift/ctrl buttons for running are getting a lil' odd to function with.

Heisenberg 07-24-2013 09:05 PM

Oh jeez. Nevee considered that.

Heisenberg 07-24-2013 09:15 PM

I'm trying to get back into L.A. Noire, and I first experienced investigating bodies on the 360, much more relative, got all the DLC for it.

Tomb Raider is crawling up there in the queue.

Stopped playing Diablo 3, I love to kill demons and shit, but nothing great dropped stat wise for me.

VSG 07-24-2013 10:24 PM

I spent about $170

El Fangel 07-24-2013 11:08 PM

I have three Afterglow controllers I've used for my PC and 360 for a couple years now. I only really needed two, but I replaced one I thought was lost and wasn't, so now I have three. No big. I love these controllers, though. The back and start could be better done, though.

Heisenberg 07-25-2013 01:19 AM

I'm enjoying the controller, but I've spent more time tonight configuring it to Batman: Arkham City than actual gameplay.

It was a mix of deleting all the emulator files from when I was using a Logitech game controller with the x360ce program that it needed to mirror an Xbox360 controller and reconfiguring some other files.

Kane Knight 07-25-2013 02:03 AM

It's more the former, right? I thought the Batman games had native 360 support.

Heisenberg 07-25-2013 02:16 AM

yeah. I cleaned the emulator files out and changed tge button layouts back to default. Controller and Steam are now a functional team

El Fangel 07-27-2013 02:35 AM

Been playing Borderlands 2 a lot. Love it.

most of mine won't bother with anything not Call of Duty. Or won't bother for more than 10 minutes. Oddly enough, a couple of them just decided to get GTA V and I know they'll play it for like ten minutes and then be back in Blops 2 waiting for ghosts.

So they're gamers in the sense that any frat boy or dudebro is, but that's about it.

I think it's possible, given my laptop doesn't seem capable of handling any game made within about the last 10 years without glowing red hot.

It doesn't seem that likely though, does it? :(

I have $100 Steam Bucks from Father's Day to begin. I have a few games to buy and stash

Lol every single time.. See Page 1 for your same prediction last year and then let us know how it went.

Get a better laptop or build your own PC, that's not an excuse. Heck I will help you out in the building part if you want.

RoXer 06-19-2014 01:24 PM

A keyboard
