Judas didn't screw Judas. JESUS screwed Judas. There is a thing called professionalism in this business...

I don't see Rey retaining at Judgement Day...

Jesus was just following order from the top. Besides, Judas could have just accepted that Jesus refusing to drop the title was because Judas had done the same thing at "Backstab IV"

TerranRich 05-06-2006 12:10 PM

I can just hear the Mary Magdalene "slut" chants now...

Unfortunately, I do.

Am I the only one who really wouldn't mind it if JBL went over Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day, then presented Mark Henry with the WWE United States Championship? It would be very similiar to how Mark Henry became WWE European Champion, which is probably why I like it.

Henry as a Champion seems like a bad move, but with him being the one responsible for Batista and Kurt Angle being written out of storylines, a Gunner Scott or Paul Burchill title win from Henry would be huge for their careers.

I see Rey Mysterio winning and dropping the title to Booker T at The Great American Bash, though. Booker T is on top of the world until Batista comes back, and at Summerslam, the sixth World Title reign of Booker T comes to an end. Or Booker T gets himself disqualified, so he can outlast Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton in terms of reign length, only for Batista to get the big gold belt back at No Mercy.

Wouldn't mind? Hell, I would jump for joy to see JBL get the belt again!

WWE Champion JBL = Ratings...and don't bother pointing out that he didn't bring in the ratings when was Champ, because that would be dealing with numbers and facts...and like all great Americans (Colbert, JBL, Bush) I don't care about facts...I FEEL like he brings in ratings, and that's what counts.

The One 05-06-2006 09:24 PM

Double post

Mr. Nerfect 05-06-2006 09:59 PM

I was 100% on JBL's side on SmackDown!. Michael Cole's constant babblings about how America is about the underdog, didn't help. America is about being on top and bullying other countries into doing what they want. JBL embodies that well, and he's completely honest and forthcoming about it. Hence my constant face support.

Kane Knight 05-06-2006 10:11 PM

Yeah.

America was originally colonised by two classes of people: The ones who owned other folks, and the ones that were owned. It was really not a good place. Of course, you came over here in hopes of opportunity--But we've been listening to that promise for years.

Who were our founding fathers? Rich white guys. Landowners all. Hell, they were people who frowned upon democracy (Rule by Rabble). There's nothing "underdog" about America--The most the underdog ever gets is an acknolwedgement that they have some rights...

But Cole was tyring to play to stupid patriots, the guys who tell folks like Hassan to "Go back where [he] came from." Mouthbreathers who think this is the greatest country in the world simply because we have freedoms (Which only apply to him, not everyone inconvenient).

This is why I hate "Patriotic" angles in the first place. They're an insult to our intelligence--Not as "smarts" or as the "intellectual elite" but as anyone with more than one pair of brian cells.

I'd argue, actually, that JBL is the model American. He's a rich white guy who's been successful, is a total ass, and flaunts the American dream (Which really does not work). And bringing in immigrants is so stupid--Sure, it's a hot topic issue, but when you're appealing to a primarily white fanbase, making the fans react by identifying with the minority is pretty dumb.

DaveWadding 05-07-2006 01:46 PM

The obvious answer is to put the belt on Val Venis.

Kane Knight 05-07-2006 03:43 PM

"You know, the Big Valboski and out founding fathers have a lot in common. We've stuck it to a lot of people, made it big on the backs of others, and we made it hand over fist."

Nark Order 05-07-2006 03:46 PM

Has it occurred to anybody that Mysterio is one of the hardest working guys in professional wrestling history? Cut the dude a break. I'm actually intruiged by this title run. I want to see where they go with it.

Kane Knight 05-07-2006 04:21 PM

Wow. I knew it was only a matter of time before we ended up with Mysterio apologists.

The One 05-07-2006 04:37 PM

Do you know how many people could easily fall into the catagory of "One of the Hardest Working People"??? Hell, if everyone who busted their ass for years got the belt we would have Lodi or Elix Skipper or John Kronus or Shark Boy be World Champion. Who's to say Rey did or didn't work harder then any one of them. Hard work does not marrit a unholy hyped WrestleMania World Title win. Call a spade a spade, if Eddie Guerrero wouldn't have died, Rey Mysterio would have been lucky to hold the United States Title. Rey took Eddie death, agree'd to run with defending his honor while people talk about him burning in hell, and made a World Title run out of a terrible situation that never would have presented itself. Not only do I not like him, I think he is not a credible champ, and in the process of getting there he road his dead friend's momentum to further himself.

My dream is if 10 people got together and held up huge signs that say..

"WE" "CHANT" "EDDIE" "OUT" "OF" "RESPECT" "FOR" "HIM" "NOT" "YOU!"

Isn't "call a spade a spade" more appropriate for black people? :nono: Man, you let me down. :shifty:

Anyway, I'm down for the sign bit.

TerranRich 05-08-2006 10:14 AM

I'll be the "OF"! :D

Now that SmackDown! has come and gone in the United States, I think I am right to start talking about the future of the SmackDown! brand in specifics.

Next week, Rey Mysterio will face The Great Khali in a Non-Title Match. This pisses me off for so many reasons. It is SOOOOOO damn obvious The Undertaker is going to pop his head into this match, either giving Rey the win, or saving Mysterio from a beat-down post-match. What really pisses me off about this is not only it is predictable, but that it will work.

The WWE has done a weak job of making people care about Rey Mysterio, so now they're using a part-time guy, who, much like Hulk Hogan, surprises me with his 95% positive reactions. The event is also in San Diego, so the fans are going to be rabid for The Undertaker save with Taker and Mysterio having stare-down, probably ending with The Undertaker handing Rey Mysterio the World Heavyweight belt as a sign of respect. I am going to fast-forward the main event to see if I'm right.

The only thing that keeps me going is that I honestly believe this is a temporary thing. As soon as the WWE travels a bit further, Mysterio will start getting booed. What frustrates me is that during this time where the fans would cheer Mysterio if he ate live puppies in the middle of the ring, I doubt they're going to try and use that to build Mysterio up as a Champion people have faith in.

Come Judgment Day, I am going to order because the undercard looks so damn good. But when it comes to the "main events", I am going to tune-out, because this shit is just that, shit. I hope there are "Boring!" chants during the hoss match, and I hope there are "J-B-L!" chants during the World Heavyweight Title match. I hope Booker T wins the King of the Ring Tournament and gets cheered when he faces Rey Mysterio for the title at The Great American Bash.

The WWE does such a shit job with their main eventers it makes me WANT to see them fail miserably. I'm not trying to ruin the WWE, I am a WWE fan, it's just the WWE go out of their way to fuck things up, and if that isn't their intention then they are pretty fucking stupid.

By the way, I think that first kid they showed who was shocked Henry was about to kill Mysterio with the Silsby Splash off the platform, was a very similar kid to the one who watched The Undertaker get "incinerated" at No Mercy by Randy Orton.

So summing up this post: 1) I hope the fans shit all over Rey Mysterio in coming weeks, and 2) I hope the fans shit all over Taker/Khali, actually ruining The Undertaker's respect pops, replacing them with "you lazy fuck, get on the road and start doing shit or stop wasting out time with your zombie ballerina attire" heat.

It's gotten to the stage where I want to see the WWE fail. Not because I am no longer a fan, but because they actually position me to do so.

Excellent post.I completely agree with it.

I have a question .. is Chavo definetly gone? I would love to see him return at judgement day to end the "fairytale" story. Its exactly the way they would give JBL the title an interference so that Mysterio never lost in a fair fight.
Chavo can cost Rey the title because hes only because of his cousins death. It doesnt stop the Eddie stories but it ends Mysterios reign and puts him in a credible rivalry with Chavo. The only problem is JBL holding US and WHC. He could possibly hand it to Chavo as a thank you :-\ or maybe lose it in run up to JD:-\

Harry Peters 05-09-2006 03:10 AM

I HATE Rey. Orton for champ :D

Yeah, a lot of people are hoping to see Chavo, but he's been all but forgotten. Yeah, the last Guerrero gets jobbed out and quits, while his "friend" milks his name and gets a shitty title reign.

TerranRich 05-09-2006 10:31 AM

EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE!

Oh, wait, isn't that Rey down there?

NO! STFU!! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE!

Sorry to bump this thread, but look at this (Hopefully not a red X) image to hype Rey v JBL. Fucking A, could they make Rey look more hopeless?

Skippord 05-21-2006 06:11 PM

He looks like he is humping the belt

I still hold out slight hope hell turn up in a somewhat inventive storyline shocker :nono:

SammyG 05-21-2006 06:16 PM

What is Chavo doing with Rey Mysterio in the smackdown locker room? Cole report! I hope Chavo screws Rey. Like, costing him the belt type of screwing.
