upset? cause once again you were wrong... not at all...

upset that my teams in the conference finals? not upset at all.

but whatever makes you feel better about running your mouth w/o a clue and being wrong as usual.

IC Champion 05-18-2008 07:45 PM

Yes, without a clue, as if you have one youself.

I made a prediction, I was wrong. Alot of people had Cleveland, and it isn't like Boston destroyed Clevland in 4 or 5 games. It was 7 games, and the 7th was close.

However you choose to ignore the fact that your team struggled against an 8th seed and than a one man team. Detriot is a legit contender who can win away, where as Boston who hasn't won away yet in the playoffs, unlike the remaining teams. I'd be worried If I were a Boston fan.

alvarado52 05-18-2008 07:55 PM

Im with IC on this one, the Celts have no chance getting passed the Pistons. Pistons/Lakers finals.

Ninti the Mad 05-18-2008 08:04 PM

LOL @ Lakers automatically in the finals

They havent played anyone tough yet.

Denver? LOLLLLLL

Utah? They choke all the time.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-18-2008 08:28 PM

Reading some other message boards and people are trying to say its LeBron's "fault" lol give me a break, nobody else could do shit for the Cavs offensively. Delonte was the only one who really did anything at all and he missed some big shots himself. Really don't see how you can blame a guy who dropped 45 points on the road in Game 7 and consistently set up shots for his teammates, only to have them miss. Not to mention the Cavs where playing 4 on 5 the entire team on offense since Ben Wallace has no offensive game what-so-ever. Anyone see when he caught the ball in the post with his back to the basket and nobody behind him? He could have just turned around took one dribble and dunked it instead he passed it away in like .02 seconds lol

As for the Pistons destorying the Celtics because the Celtics struggled with a one man team, pretty sure the Pistons lost to the "one man team" last year so I dunno. Plus the Sixers went into Detriot and won a game, so we'll see what happens here. Everyone thinks they are Miss Cleo or something

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! As a matter of fact, i believe they were down by one at that time, which if his ass wasnt so afraid, he could have done exactly what you said and possibly changes the tide.

IC Champion 05-18-2008 08:38 PM

Philly was one of the hottest teams going into the playoffs though, Stimes.

I'm worried, but they still have a good chance against Detroit, it will go 6 or 7.

What I find funny isn't that you were wrong (which you usually are, you actually are starting to make RP look good on predictions) it's how arrogent about it you were and ended up wrong.

You can call the bums or whatever else you want but the fact remains they were the best team in the league during the regular season and their one of the best 2 eastern teams in the playoffs.

So, keep knocking them, your jealousy is understood.

by the way, what team do you root for?

Wait.... I thought "The playoffs are different then the regular season" wasn't that your cry? but now "Philly was hot going into the playoffs"... which is it? Does the regular season matter or not?

Also, as it's been pointed out, Detroit lost to the "1 man team" last year and they did lose at home to Philly, so Boston hasn't won on the road, but they haven't lost at home either.

Celtics in 7 but it will be a battle.

IC Champion 05-18-2008 09:29 PM

LOL, I was wrong about a prediction. I also predicted Lakers would take it in 6.

You're talking about last year with Detriot when you're team only compiled 24 wins and missed the play-offs. That was a year ago, I know that's my point. And you're team came rather close to going down to LeBron this year.

Call me arrogant all you like, I'm just stating facts. I would expect the best team in the league to easily defeat a team that wasn't even .500. and than in the next round have the series go 7 games and come down to the final minute. No 1 seed that had to go 7 to win in the first round has ever gone on to win the championship.

Come on, you really think Boston can beat whoever comes out west be it Lakers, Spurs, or Hornets? You really think so?

IC Champion 05-18-2008 09:31 PM

And for someone who is borderline brain dead to say I'm always wrong is pretty funny.

SammyG 05-18-2008 09:31 PM

Lake Show/Pistons

Splaya 05-18-2008 10:39 PM

Pierce may have come alive, but you also have to remember, Tayshaun Prince will be guarding him now

mrslackalack 05-18-2008 11:13 PM

I think this will go 7. Hard to say who will get it between Det and Boston.

mrslackalack 05-18-2008 11:23 PM

One of the key factors is the big 3 at each only have 1 Conf Title game appearence.(Pierce with the Celtics in 02, Allen with the Bucks in 01, KG with the T-Wolves in 04) The current Pistons nucleus has been to 5 straight Conf Title Games. (6 current streak but the star players arrived or gotten good like Prince in 04) Including going on to winning a title and losing another in a Game 7.

oooh... borderline brain dead... I suppose if I was wrong like you I'd go with the insults to try and prove my point (no, actually I wouldn't) but whatever helps you sleep at night.

for whatever reason you don't like the Celtics (which is fine) but you keep trying to change your argument "the regular season doesn't matter" and then "Philly was hot at the end of the regular season".

What it comes down to is they beat Atlanta and they beat Clevland and they have a chance to beat anyone, any team does.

Detroit will go 6 or 7, if it's 6 detroit wins if it's 7 the Celtics win.

I don't have the confidence against Detroit that I did against Clevland.

but whatever, can't wait till tuesday night and to get this started!

that's a very big factor, Detroit has been here before and as a team, where for most these guys this is their first year together on the Celtics.

YES. I think they were in the triangle or something and when the ball went down to Wallace he immidiatley threw it to Lebron. I think he had Posey gaurding him like 4 feet away.

But what did you expect? Everyone knows Ben has no offensive game. Even he knows it which is why he looked to pass first. All it took was an aggresive move to the basket to draw at least a foul. But when he kicked it out and Lebron missed the shot I figured "meh, they got what they payed for.One defensive minded player to help them get to the finals. Glad it worked out for them"

VonErichLives 05-19-2008 09:36 AM

not getting cocky about this, but the more I look at the matchup the more I like it.

it's two very similar teams, tough defense the one thing Detroit lacks is the "big scorer" there isn't a Lebron type player that will explode for 40pts.

SammyG 05-19-2008 02:59 PM

Damn, game 7 tonight. Pick your poison, I guess.

They also have the best back court in basketball and a solid bench. Detriot can also play defence and score.

SammyG 05-19-2008 05:55 PM

And Detroit takes pride on their ability to perform on the road.

and the Celtics can play defense and score also. Detroit really is a better matchup for boston the Clevland was. Detroit really lacks that guy that will put up 30-40 points, which means Pierce wont exaust himself on defense, don't get me wrong they have good players that can score, but the thing that make lebron so tiring is his size, the guys bigger the most NFL TE's.

Dunno, the Pistons still worry me but the more I look at it i'm less worried that I originally thought.

I would think all teams take pride in ability to preform on the road....

That being said, Detroit won 1 game on the road, and they also lost one at home, boston hasn't lost at home so you could say Boston takes more price in their ability to preform at home then Detroit does at home?

Gonna be a great series, Boston in 7, but Detroit in 6 wouldn't completely shock me.

IC Champion 05-19-2008 06:30 PM

Detriot is a better team than Cleveland, sure they don't have a LeBron James, but they have Billups, Wallace ,Prince, and Hamilton. They have good team chemistry and the benefit is they don't rely on any one guy to win. I think that's more of an advantage than anything. And they pretty much had their way with Orlando who is a pretty good team.

Wallace should give Garnert alot more trouble than the Cav's bigs did on both end of the floor. Wallace is one of the better big man in the league, and is a really good defender.

Let's not forget their bench which I would say is better than Boston's is and I think things are looking good for Detriot. Sure Pierce had a good game, but he also had a couple bad ones, and Allen who is supposed to be one of the leagues premier shooters is shooting around 37% from the floor and averaging 12 ppg.

Which is why I say Pistons in 6.

McLegend 05-19-2008 09:19 PM

Ugh Spurs with a 10 point lead. I know it's early, but that's not good.

McLegend 05-19-2008 09:28 PM

Nah chill bro it's fine

SammyG 05-19-2008 09:35 PM

Yo let's go Spurs. I am afraid of Chris Paul

McLegend 05-19-2008 09:36 PM

Spurs up 11 again.

mrslackalack 05-19-2008 10:30 PM

Spurs up 15 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

SammyG 05-19-2008 10:33 PM

WOOOOOOOO Spurs gonna win

mrslackalack 05-19-2008 10:51 PM

I think the Lakers/Spurs will be a great series. I see this series going 7 and I can see the Spurs getting a W in LA and LA getting a W in SA. 13 of the last 17 titles have been won by a Phil Jackson or Pop coached team.

IC Champion 05-19-2008 10:52 PM

down to 6 with free throws coming.

SammyG 05-19-2008 10:56 PM

Jura 05-19-2008 11:01 PM

I know Pargo has hit some big shots but why are they relying on him to be the man?

SammyG 05-19-2008 11:08 PM

Damn, what a final 4..

Celtics/Pistons
Spurs/Lakers

mrslackalack 05-19-2008 11:11 PM

Kobes desired to win the title as a captain. Spurs are motivated by naysayers saying that they cant repeat as champs. 2 Heckvua potential conf matchups. For the finals I hope its Celtics/Lakers (would draw HUGE ratings if it happens) or Pistons/Spurs (They had a great 7 game series in the 05 finals with many of the games coming down to the end.

McLegend 05-19-2008 11:14 PM

If there was ever a game the Spurs should have lost it was this one. For some reason GINOBILI and Tim Duncan just went cold in the 4th quarter.

I've never seen GINOBILI play that flat in the 4th. Spurs kind of looked listless in the closing mintues. They made uncharacteristic mistakes, and got careless.

That was proably the best chance anyone is going to have eliminating the Spurs.

SammyG 05-19-2008 11:16 PM

The world is praying to not have a Pistons Spurs finals.

It would be almost as bad as Cavs Spurs

mrslackalack 05-19-2008 11:34 PM

Skip Bayless calls the Spurs the ''ratings killer'' funny thing is he is clearly a huge Spurs fan.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 12:23 AM

Thats why you dont talk shit, Kris P Lettus.

SammyG 05-20-2008 12:33 AM

This series is going 6 or 7. Gonna be mad intense.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 12:35 AM

Yup.

Did you see Ime Udoka tonight? holy shit he rocked the Hornets.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 12:36 AM

BTW, for those who dont follow the Spurs much.

Ime Udoka is being prepped to be the next Bruce Bowen. Only difference is that he can actually run and dribble, make layups, and can shoot from multiple areas for threes.

DaveWadding 05-20-2008 12:38 AM

He is also being trained by Bowen in the art of being a cheap dirty piece of shit.

SammyG 05-20-2008 12:39 AM

Lakers in 7, gonna say.

SammyG 05-20-2008 12:39 AM

Yeah, I am concerned about Bowen being a piece of shit and injuring Kobe.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 12:45 AM

lol

Bowen isnt even dirty. Its just that the media hates the Spurs so they always exaggerate shit.

Like the Horry thing. EXAGGERATED. You think that was bad? Check what Chandler did to Parker in Game 5.

Now I wont say anything about who will win because I dont want to put my foot in my mouth like 'KRIS P LETTUS' but the Spurs fought two series' with AWESOME competition. Lakers have been cruising pretty much. I expect the Lakers to be shell shocked in Game 1but lets see.

ITS ON

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 12:46 AM

Hey Wadding... how is your team doing? Are they still in the playoffs? I havent been keeping up with them.

Wrong dude. You are just looking for excuses for everything.

"OMG he breathed on him he is dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111"

SammyG 05-20-2008 01:08 AM

I'm with Wadding here, I HATE BRUCE BOWEN. Biggest piece of shit ever. I will go insane if he tries to injure Kobe. Sticking his leg out when ppl taking jumpshots, trying to get them to sprain their ankle, kicking them, hitting them in the nuts, he is fucking terrible.

Wadding , you on my side this series?

DaveWadding 05-20-2008 01:10 AM

No. I hate the Lakers and I hate the Spurs...after the lottery tomorrow it's all baseball and prospect scouting until the draft. I'm done with the NBA for this season.

SammyG 05-20-2008 01:11 AM

:) Stay outta this thread then

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 01:12 AM

Its Nash's fault for getting right into him when he was trying to make a move.

Dont blame Bowen for that shit.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 01:14 AM

WTF

The ratio to when Bowen actually does something like that be it intentional or not is LOW.

You only see the bad shit because you see the highlights when something happens yet never see the games when he doesnt do anything.

Stop being ignorant. Sure, he made some mistakes but it doesnt make him dirty.

Because there's no such thing as a game when Bowen isnt a fucking dirty piece of shit.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 01:19 AM

So then you just plead ignorance.

Okay.

RP 05-20-2008 07:04 AM

yah you know what. If you want to win a championship, you need a guy like Bowen who isnt afraid to get his hands dirty. So please stfu. Every great team has had a guy like him.

SammyG 05-20-2008 11:36 AM

RP 05-20-2008 04:53 PM

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2008 04:54 PM

You dont get to defeat anyone because you are not a Laker.

Its pretty ROFL.

Juan 05-20-2008 06:15 PM

I think people have used the word "we" in regards to their favorite sports team for years now. Get over it.

Night on the tarmac

When the San Antonio Spurs eliminated the New Orleans Hornets from the playoffs Monday night, they figured the hard part of their journey to the Western Conference finals was over.

Turns out it was only beginning.

In one of the more bizarre travel stories, the Spurs ended up spending the night on the tarmac at New Orleans airport.

The team had planned to fly to Los Angeles after the game, but arrived at the airport to find their flight had mechanical problems. With a cable convention crowding the city’s hotel rooms, the team couldn’t find any place to spend the night.

Some of the players slept on the plane while others moved to buses on the tarmac.

The team left New Orleans around 6:30 a.m. And arrived in Los Angeles a few hours later. The Spurs will have only a brief shootaround on Wednesday morning before opening the conference finals against the Los Angeles Lakers that night.

Sammy, where were you last night hmm?

SammyG 05-20-2008 07:26 PM

SammyG 05-21-2008 06:54 PM

So let's see. If Mem. woulda won it, it woulda been fixed, Chicago won it, so it is fixed.
