Finlay, to a degree. He's a more polished worker, but he doesn't have the image the WWE really want to promote for ECW right now. They're going to use him to make Swagger a star. Also, Finlay is probably slightly below Swagger's level on the mic. Yeah, Swagger has a lisp, but he's a good talker otherwise.

Mark Henry is not better than Swagger. Maybe a little better than him on the mic. Maybe.

Tommy Dreamer is more experienced, but he's old, and his story is leading up to him either winning the ECW Title in June, or not. Him being ECW Champion now would be pointless. Dreamer is probably a better talker, but he's had years more experience in front of crowds.

Chavo Guerrero has really improved on the mic, but probably is around Swagger's level. In the ring he's more experienced, but the WWE obviously doesn't want to use Chavo credibly.

The Miz has improved so well, but his personality just hasn't quite developed to the point where he can be taken seriously as a top star. His ring work is probably below Swagger's.

John Morrison is a maybe, but he's caught up with other things. He really doesn't seem like a good fit to be ECW Champion right now. He should be building towards other things. Morrison is entertaining, but it comes from a different place other than specific mic skills or ring skills.

He doesn't have to like him, nor does BDC. I couldn't care less. BDC, for the most part, has a horrible taste in wrestlers. KK is cynical before he wakes up in the morning. I will say that neither appears to be too up-to-date on Swagger's run on ECW as a whole, so neither really has a fully formed opinion of him. Good for them.

Looking back, I think the point was to get the title off Matt than to get the title on Swagger. I agree with ABT's point about Swagger being the de facto best choice due to ECW's thin roster (unless they were to *gasp* have a vacant title). Finlay wouldn't have fought Matt for it in face v. face, Boogen is Boogen, Henry is terrible, Tommy will feud for it later this year, Miz and Morrison are tag champs...I think that's everyone...

I think Troy McClure has potential, but I don't think he'll get higher than the IC title.

I agree with you on everything but on where Swagger will get. I think he can do far better.

I hate to disagree with BDC, and even more so if it means taking Noid's side, but I like The Swag.
Solid in the ring. In the ring he reminds me of some of the old school AWA wrestlers. I didn't catch his promo on Dreamer, but I do want to see him with a mouth piece like Hayes. If they don't do that then give him a diva search loser, or do a face diva/heel wrestler pair with Kelly Kelly. It would give her air time, and it would give us another reason to hate The Swag.


Albeit "The All American" American name is a little too much.

Right now I consider the ECW title to be the beginner's title. They may throw it to a guy like Matt or Kane every so often to keep it credible, but as a World Title they've had it on just as many new faces. They gave Morrison a pretty good run with it, arguably the Lashley run, Punk, now this guy.

P.S., I am not siding with or against anybody in this endless fued. I just think it's awful. It spills over into every thread, and is disguised as being on topic when it clearly represents a bigger problem.
