If the Regal faction is still in tact when he arrives I expect him to be involved, but on the other side of it. I see him being Christian's ally to help take them out. I mean it'd probably mean he'd get to face off against Regal on some ECW's, which would show off his immense talents.

I think the real question here is what does this mean for ROH? I don't see a very bright future ahead of them at all.

He pulled a goodVelocity match out of Cena a few years back when Cena was green.

He will be fine in WWE matches.

He's gotten pretty jacked lately.

To be fair, they haven't really been relying on Danielson too much. He's reached a sort of "indy celebrity" status where he doesn't need to be featured, anyway. As WWKD said, he's pretty much done all he can on that scene. Plus, knowing ROH, he'll get a farewell tour that will feature all the "dream matches" with Danielson left, so that will make for some good DVD sales (in relativity to the company).

Austin Aries, Tyler Black, The American Wolves and Steenerico seem to be the focus of the promotion right now. If ROH loses all of them, then they might be in trouble. But as long as there are enough guys working outside of the WWE, ROH will do what it does -- showcases them before they move onto the big time careers.

And hey, they always have Paul London and Brian Kendrick that they can bring in.

This'll definitely be interesting, but I'm worried about what his "WWE Name" will be. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they let him wrestle as Bryan Danielson, but knowing how they've been lately I wouldn't be surprised to see him debut on ECW as Bucky Johnson or something equally dumb.

As far as how far he rises in the WWE, if he makes it off ECW, I'd be happy with midcard star/upper midcard jobber to the stars like Evan Bourne. According to wiki he's almost the exact height and weight as Bourne...I don't see a guy that small ever being taken seriously as a World title contender in the WWE. Punk's got three inches and over 30 pounds on both of them.

"You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in!"

Apparently his last match will be in New York on 9/26 which I'm going to. I'm looking forward to the curtian call. He's an indy legend going to greener (thus far the greener only stands for money) pastures.

It's the best possible decision for him to make. He'll get paid much better now, and he'll have the potential to ply his craft on the biggest possible stage. With his relationship with Shawn Michaels and William Regal along with his phenomonal in ring abilities he could very well go far.

I see Danielson being for the WWE what Benoit was for a long time. That is to say a guy that put on great matches and was put in the main event sparingly.

Indifferent Clox 08-24-2009 08:55 PM

He's the best in the world. That's his gimmick if nothing else. If one fan per show starts having a BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD sign, WWE will have a tough time ignoring it on live tv.

Indifferent Clox 08-24-2009 11:36 PM

He should just be called american dragon.

Fignuts 08-24-2009 11:42 PM

I'm still waiting for lo-ki to show up.

Kane86 08-25-2009 12:33 AM

So, you know what? I am just going to leave this thread alone. Because we all have our own opinions on this Horseshit.

Well as long as Danielson doesn't show up 20 pounds overweight like Harris did, I think he'll be fine.

Chris Harris was never really the darling that Danielson is, either. Nor did Harris really have the connections or skills Danielson does.

Thought it was relevent...

Mr. Nerfect 09-07-2009 12:33 AM

I could actually almost see Bryan Danielson beating Austin Aries for the ROH World Title in his last ROH match, before he forfeits the belt, which leads to a tournament to crown a new champion featuring whoever is left on the ROH roster. Assuming there are no more signings, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Chris Hero, Davey Richards, Tyler Black, Claudio Castagnoli and a returning Jimmy Jacobs could actually make a pretty sweet tournament -- although most of them are heels. I guess Jacobs could return as a face or something.

But now PWG sort of beat them to the punch.

Chris Harris actually had really little going for him. He had a cool gimmick and was part of a team that was packaged extremely well. While Danielson is an unknown to most of the WWE fanbase he still is undeniably the biggest Indy draw there is much bigger then Punk was when he debuted. So if WWE is smart they'll do the same thing they did with Punk and debut Danielson in a smark heavy city (after marketing him decently) and let the initial reaction of the fans give him a slight yet necessary boost.

There seems to be a lot of wrong ideas here that Danielson is only a great wrestler and has nothing going for him other then that. He might not be the greatest promo cutter (he's decent) but he has an undeniable charisma and amazing ability to connect with audiences. If packaged right he could quickly become a badass face on ECW despite his size.

Long story short I really doubt he's going to fail but it might take him a bit long to get going like it did for Punk.

That's exactly it. I'm sure that Danielson actually plays into being a straight wrestler. I've seen him work comedy in his matches, and he's actually really good at it. He'll no doubt drop the burgundy trunks when he debuts, and get something flashier. I think the guy is going to be more of a sleeper than people predict.

Truth be told, and this might be a bit of a push for the guy out the gate -- I'd like to see him win the Intercontinental Championship in his debut. I think the only person to ever do that is Santino Marella, and, well, he had a lot of help from Bobby Lashley. If Danielson answered an open challenge from Dolph Ziggler, or something, and beat him in a really solid wrestling match in San Antonio, or something like that, the dude could get pretty fucking over right out the gate. It's not neccessary, but it's something that would help Danielson instantly stand out.
