new title?

FearedSanctity 06-13-2010 09:37 PM

It'll be them bringing in either Heyman or Sullivan.

Of all the rumors that Dixie has shot down, she hasn't said anything about the one being mentioned the most.

She said the 'big surprise' isnt a part of creative. Which presumably would be what Heyman would be brought in for.

FearedSanctity 06-13-2010 10:32 PM

Forgot about that. Well then, can't see this "surprise" being anything I'll give a shit about really

One of us...One of us....

Lock Jaw 06-13-2010 10:56 PM

Soooo... Unless I missed something, the big surprise was Tommy Dreamer showing up and doing nothing?

Volare 06-13-2010 10:58 PM

The PPV was pretty meh.

Rev. Hallowell 06-14-2010 01:43 AM

Found the big surprise...

Rammsteinmad 06-14-2010 01:50 AM

TNA's gonna use old WCW Music?

Juan 06-14-2010 01:53 AM

I think the Thunder theme would be more appropriate

The PPV surprise and "big" surprise are two different things

Rammsteinmad 06-14-2010 04:03 AM

The big surprise, is that there will be a big surprise.

Xero 06-14-2010 12:08 PM

From PWInsider:

The word going around at the PPV last night was that Dixie Carter has not told anyone what the surprise that will change the company is. She is playing it very close to the vest. No one in the company has any idea what it is.

I got an anonymous email today (which I obviously can't confirm but found interesting enough to comment on) that said that the change would be that TNA would be dropping their PPVs and instead doing live specials on SpikeTV instead. I want to make it clear that I can not confirm that but do think that it would be an interesting and good move for the company to make, as long as Spike paid them appropriately for the shows. If TNA aired monthly three hour pure wrestling shows, it could be the thing they need to appeal to new viewers and could help them sell more house show tickets and merchandise.

Again, there is no factual basis to this at this time, I just think it would be a bold an interesting move if TNA were to decide to make it.

Interesting idea. Although, I'm not sure how beneficial this will be to the organization as a whole.

Xero 06-14-2010 12:26 PM

I can't imagine that TNA does anywhere near good PPV numbers. And if that's the case, then it makes complete sense.

Though I think they should adopt the old WWF PPV model of 4 PPVs a year.

Oh I agree, and doubt they get very little in the way of PPV buys. I just don't see Spike wanting or agreeing to pay them for their "new" free PPV's on the network. In the short term it won't help them financially but in the long term it may be a great idea. I think the 4 PPV/year model could also work.

yeah that would be the way to do it keep summerslam the october one the cage one and have one in jan. wwe needs to cut half of there ppvs too that way people would be more likely to order them.

blak23 06-14-2010 07:04 PM

id watch if that rumor were true

Jonathan KoЯn 06-14-2010 07:06 PM

Free PPVs? Sign me up mayne

Verbose Minch 06-14-2010 07:13 PM

The free PPV idea would actually draw in viewers. Hell, I would watch it every month, or however often they would air them.

It'd definitely be awesome.

The Pope 06-14-2010 07:16 PM

Awesome!

taker707 06-14-2010 08:27 PM

Perfect idea

Kane Knight 06-14-2010 09:56 PM

Has TNA changed forever yet?

Londoner 06-14-2010 10:52 PM

probably

Londoner 06-14-2010 10:52 PM

lol

Kane Knight 06-14-2010 11:16 PM

This just in: TNA has changed forever.

VSG 06-14-2010 11:25 PM

Vintage change for forever!

Funny how every time someone big in WWE goes to TNA and everyone starts to make fun of him/her and complains how pathetic they are now. With the exception of Angle, I think Dreamer deserves our respect no matter how TNA handles him.

Juan 06-14-2010 11:32 PM

That's not a soap box I see, is it?

VSG 06-14-2010 11:35 PM

Rev. Hallowell 06-14-2010 11:44 PM

A free PPV each year may be the first good idea taken from WCW (Clash of the Champions)

Blind support is idiotic.

If you are against it, then I must be right. Or is this blind justification?

PullMyFinger 06-15-2010 01:22 AM

Saw this somewhere else.

Quote:

According to two representatives, one of General Nutrition Centers (GNC) and one of Sirius XM Satellite Radio who works with the health and nutrition juggernaut, GNC may be looking to invest and perhaps, buy out Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA Entertainment).

TNA is currently owned by Panda Energy, which is ran by Bob Carter, father of TNA President Dixie Carter.

Over the last few weeks, Dixie Carter has "tweeted" and "Facebooked" about major changes coming for TNA within the next month or so. PWInsider.com has reported the rumor of TNA ditching most, if not all of the company's pay-per-view events in favor of monthly televised specials on Spike TV, home of current flagship program, "Impact."

Carter has hinted that the major changes she has the Internet buzzing about are gradual ones that will be noticeable as time goes by. With the amount of money the company has lost via low buyrates, marketing on a failed move to Monday nights, as well as an excess of talent that are questionable at best in terms of drawing power, cutting the operating costs of running pay-per-view events every month would partially heal the wounds of TNA's mistakes.

A new investor or majority owner could completely heal TNA, at least financially. It is not that Bob Carter is broke. It is the fact that he may not want a company that loses money, specifically his, any longer on his portfolio.

TNA superstar Kurt Angle commented on his Facebook fanpage the following on Monday afternoon:

"Tom Dowd sighting. The CEO of GNC was reported to be hanging backstage with tna wrestlers. Could be promising for tna and Angefoods(wink, wink)."

Angle Foods, LLC is Angle's food company that distributes meals that improve people's intake of carbs, key fibers, and overall health.

The Sports Courier.

Lock Jaw 06-15-2010 01:34 AM

There is an Angle Foods and I am not aware of it?

From now on I will only eat Kurt Angle Approved Meals.
