They should make a Monday Night Wars spin-off game. Have all the attitude era wwf guys and all the wcw guys they can get, and just have as many of the arenas from that era that they can fit.

Maybe even have a transfer option for current stars, similar to what they did with Legends of Wrestlemania.

THAT shit I would buy in a heartbeat. As it stands, I'm pretty indifferent to all this. Will be cool to play as shamrock again, and see all the old arenas on current gen consoles, but that's about all that gets me excited.

Yeah, it just s're playing the "safe bet" and pushing the limits of current-gen technology for now and holding off doing anything too crazy until they have an idea of what next-gen's will be able to do and then maybe they'll go all out. Or something.

As much as I like the roster but do we really need THREE Triple H's? They'll probably have the same moveset but with slightly different taunts. I am eagar to see how Attitude Era mode will turn out (it sounds interesting) but I hope that THQ give us some news about WWE Universe 3.0

Even if you have to forego TNA guys like Sting, Chavo, Hogan, and Bischoff as the token authority figure, you can still have a really good roster. Hell they could even duplicate guys again and it would make perfect sense in some instances.

Reliving the cruiserweight division would be fun. WCW versions of Jericho, Rey, and Eddie. Malenko and Kidman already are employed by WWE. Then sign up a couple luchadors like La Parka and Psychosis or something. Also ULTIMO DRAGON.</font>

They could do it with DLC, I'd rather have Norton, Mongo and a Nitro Girl than another version of Edge.

My only problem with this roster is that I don't see any reason they couldn't do what they did with Cody Rhodes in '12.

Why do HHH, Foley, Lita, Taker, Henry, etc, take up multiple roster spots, when they could take up one, and half different models with different entrances, etc. No Attitude Era wrestler is going to differ drastically from his current version.

IT sucks me in every year, after a month or so of playing the game I say to myself, "I'll leave it a few months next year". But then they always do something to make me want it pretty badly...

This year its in the high 80s and could reach into the 90s depending on DLC plans.

But it's THQ. They never said it'd be the largest unique playable roster to date, just the largest playable. Hardly the first time they've manipulated the wording.

Still not as bad as that one year when they hyped 75 characters and then it turned out that they meant it literally. 75 characters - like 55 playable ones along with 20 NPCs.</font>

Oh, I know it's a marketing ploy, I get that. And it'll matter less if they up the CAW limit this year, which I feel like they are, but I can't remember hearing a definite yes or no yet.

With that said, it may be utterly pointless if they don't fix the stupid online servers.

My thought process is basically I'd rather have guys I'll rarely ever use, like the Uso's, versus guys I'll rarely ever use, like Lita v.2 or Young Edge. Mainly because while I won't use either one as much, the current guys will at least force them to put more new moves in the game.

Two shit games that weren't the 'sim' style people would really want in an Attitude Era game. Ideally you'd want a game with today's hi-res production values and attention to detail, but with the roster of yesteryear. That would be admirable, but I don't see that happening ever. WWE 13's main hook is the closest you'll get.

After seeing the roster I may end up passing on this game ugh instead of getting one deep roster we get two shallower ones instead I was expecting a little more diversity on the Attitude side especially. To me this screams that THQ lacked the confidence to release a seperate game so they crammed everything into this one hoping it would sell more copies. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if it backfired and loses them rights especially seeing a WWE's target audience right now is barely even old enought to remember the Era.

No the entire concept the story mode is a total rehash of the same events that took place I sure have no interest in that gimme something new dammit!

In all honesty, the roster isn't going to ultimately kill the game. What's going to kill it is if it winds up being a rehash of last year, with nothing that was promised. They promised a revamp of the controls, which I have no issue with...That and I still haven't gotten the WWE12 controls down. Various other improvements, but there's gonna be things left alone so people are still gonna cry.

The biggest issue I see with the roster is the 3 Triple H's and the other multiples of wrestlers. That and missing some names.

If there being 3 distinct incarnations of Triple H is that offensive to you, then I hope your XBox gets AIDS and dies.

Triple H happens to be one of my top favs and I don't necessarily hate that there's 3 incarnations. I just hate to think that two possible wrestlers were left out because of this. I mean, they include Shamrock but leave out Blackman. The 3 Foley's could have been combined as Alternate Attires, thus leaving even more room. It's just the little things they're not doing that irks me.

I rather like the idea because now I can create a storyline where the three HHH's all come from different eras in time and converge into current WWE where they must all fight to the death until only one HHH reigns supreme. Kind of like Jet Li's "The One" or "Highlander."

I don't mind it because I remember how annoying it was one year when "Ministry Taker" was just an Alt Attire of Biker Taker and he had the same moves/etc. Ministry Taker never did the Last Ride Powerbomb or that thumbs down Tombstone.

I was thinking teaming the three Triple H's up, kind of a "Paul Levesque World Order" type thing. All of a sudden, one of them wins the World Title and they start squabbling over it.

I'm curious if we'll see any of them being added via DLC, but I sadly can't see people paying for the majority of names there.

Tensai will definitely be dlc i think. Cesaro could make it as well.

Honestly, I don't think we'll see McIntyre or Riley. They'll be splitting the DLC between modern and Attitude, I'm sure. I wouldn't be surprised to see classic Regal in there, seeing as he was the commissioner for a while.

Seen a lot of complaining about the Attitude roster, and how a lot of them are clones of current roster etc. But most of the roster they have is the main roster for the era tbh.

There are obviously a few that weren't in games around that time, like the rest of the Hart Foundation (I'd love to play as Hart Foundation era Pillman). But you get the idea.


I think they got the most important players for sure, and I'm looking forward to playing this.

Meh, I'm not that bothered tbh. The only obvious omissions that I can see that I used last year, and are still on the active roster are Evan Bourne, Tyson Kidd, and Zeke. But there's every chance the first two will be DLC. I don't think Zeke has done enough this year to get in though.

I can see the Divas being packaged together as a Divas DLC pack but probably safe to assume THQ is going to balance out the Attitude side with the Current side for any DLC packs.

If I had to guess I'd assume Antonio Cesaro, Darren Young, Drew McIntyre, Ryback, Tensai, and Titus O'Neil are the favorites for being potential DLC stars.

What Attidue content do you guys want to see in DLC?

I'm hoping to see Too Coll & Rikishi, Classic Goldust and maybe 'Commissioner' Roddy Piper would be cool.

I'm hoping they have a NOD alt attire for Faarooq, so I can put him with the Rock, Classic Henry and Godfather. Awesome.

From that list up there from Ace, the main guys I'd like to see would probably be Test, Goldust, Gangrel, Hardy's, Val Venis and maybe Mideon and Viscera just to complete the Ministry.

Crash Holly please. I want to see the 24/7 rule fully enforced. Hell that should be a mode in a WWE game in itself.

Picture it, your character is chilling at Burger King eating a Whopper and suddenly, WHAM! A serving tray hits you over the head and you must beat Hardcore Holly in a BK Burger Brawl.

Do TNA lock their talent likeness rights up in the contracts? Hogan was in the LOW game while under contract and TNA don't seem to care if their talent appear elsewhere at times, not like Al Snow and D Lo are huge names anyway and neither are active wrestlers anymore.

Also fuck THQ for not featuring the HOF tag team legends Mosh & Thrasher.

Too Cool + Rikishi, but with the hope that you'll have the Too Cool dance with a victory. Kaientai, the Hardys and the Dudleyz would add to a great tag team division and if Gangrel being included guaranteed the Brood entrance, I'll be stoked.

Or at least put Mosh in there along with Chaz. Maybe then they could do a Beaver Cleavage dlc.

EGMNow had a hands-on preview for the game recently.

Attitude Era mode has clips and footage from Raw and Nitro during the Monday Night Raw as a way to help tell the story.

Wrestler animations vary depending on who they are facing in a match so that cruiserwieghts vs big men play and look a lot different than a normal match. Walking and collision detection also has been improved by a lot.

Create-an-arena includes customizable crowd sizes, audience attire, stage, walls, and a lot of other stuff.

"Spectacular Moments" are a new feature and triggers when a mega spot or brutal spot is activated (ex. Taker tossing Foley off the top of the cell).

You can attack the participants/slow count/screw one guy over etc. to an extent, but once the meter reaches the top - there's an automatic cutscene in place where Laurinaitis comes out and replaces you with a regular ref.

I don't know whether that's awesome or if it's just a really unnecessary limitation.</font>

It's about time they brought back special referees.

Hopefully there is an option to turn the limits off. I can see using the limitations when you're in an online game

Actually I think the ref thing is cool.

I think I would've liked it more if the cutscene would happen after a random amount of "rulebreaking". Sometimes it would happen after just one instance of shenanigans and others it may never happen and everywhere in between. I could see that maybe being frustrating for some players though, although I personally would probably prefer the unpredictability.

It's a great idea, but it needs a little unpredictability to it to really work. It'd be nice to set up a certain amount of damage before the replace in Universe mode, for example. Or on the other hand, have matches that are complete screw overs, then have the revenge play out on the next Raw or something.

Was watching the trailers, and I must say the Austin and McMahon storyline, looks amazing. The fact that you can do the mode from Austin doing his very first Stunner on Vince right through to the cage match is damn impressive.

I gotta say, while I liked how No Mercy found a way to link actual storylines of the previous year to decisions in the story mode, I have no and never had interest in reliving events from real life.

Been like that since last year with WWE 12 and even THQ themselves said they are focusing less on graphics in order to improve everything else (besides server issues) as part of the re-branding of the series.

The idea is for more time to be spent working on other parts of the game and not using up 6-9 months mainly just working on graphics and detailed character models.

I can live with that as well. I would rather have something playable then something that looks incredible, but plays like crap. Look at Wrestlemania on the old Xbox. Looked great, but didn't play great.

Gonna have to download a CAW of Lesnar, as his attire looks like shit without the sponsors. There is an absolutely amazing one out now for WWE 12', and I imagine it will be put up again when WWE 13' comes out, given the default model's inaccuracy.
