There are flaws with all of those guys as ECW Champion. The only one I can maybe agree with is Finlay. Already, at this stage of his career, Jack Swagger is already better than Mark Henry. If Henry wins another title soon, it'll hopefully be a Tag Team Championship, just to keep him out of the main event picture. John Morrison & The Miz are involved too heavily in their tag team shit, right now. Besides, I personally feel that John Morrison winning the ECW Title would actually be a step backwards for him. He's already held it. After he breaks up with The Miz, it should be onto either RAW or SmackDown! in a more prominent role. As for The Miz, I don't quite think people take him seriously enough yet, even though he is improving. If Tommy Dreamer does win the ECW Title in June, I see The Miz being the one to win it off him then. But that's only if Dreamer beats Swagger for the belt, which is a long-shot. As for Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW Title? It completely cuts into his intriguing story. Dreamer is still solid in the ring, and a good promo man, but he needs to be built up. Swagger already went over Dreamer by the time they decided to take the ECW Title off Matt Hardy, anyway. The only option I think could be reasoned as being a better choice than Jack Swagger right now, is Finlay. But those two are feuding now anyway. |
I know I was said I was done, but then noid had to come in and completely miss the mark. My argument is that Swagger is to green to be anything but a lower teir champion, not the 3 highest in WWE. The simple fact he is now fueding with Finlay doesn't fix that. Also, my argument that slapping the belt on Swagger to simply get it off Hardy is hot shotting.
With a little bit of preplanning, any of the 5 or 6 guys I keep mentioning would have been better than Swagger as most of them are former champions or at the same caliber as past ECW champions. While I agree that Miz and Morrison are a little tied up as tag champions, but then again WWE never pays attention to the tag belts and they are rarely on PPV, so they could fit in a ECW championship run for one of them I honestly thought Mark Henry makes good ECW champion as Mark Henry is a gatekeeper. If you beat him, you are on your way to bigger and better things, if you don't beat him, you probably aren't going to advance much further anytime soon. And with Henry, because of his size and gimmick, wins don't matter much because he will still look like a monster (same as Kane or Bigshow). Tommy Dreamer could have won the title and had a last hurrah and lost it at Wrestlemania and retired. From what I know about Dreamer, jobbing the ECW title to the next big star would have been the highlight of his career. And, just a little preplanning because they knew Matt Hardy was going to be involved in a storyline with his brother, they could have easily worked that out. As for Finlay he has been on a tear in ECW, it would have made prefect sence for him to get the title, and then he could have feuded with Swagger till Mania, or there could have been a 3 way dance between Swagger, Finlay, and Dreamer. |

1.) Everybody on here bitches that news stars aren't being made more often. Including you. 2.) When WWE attempts to make new stars everybody bitches about it. Including you. I don't know where you're getting all this lying of mine from. He's green, sure. But we haven't really seen where WWE is going with all this and ECW championship isn't exactly the highest pinnacle that a wrestler can achieve. So all of this 'blowing their load' stuff everyone is going on about doesn't even apply. It seems as if they're going with a slow buildup. |
