Uh, Rivers says that Perk is doubtful for the rest of the series, but he says he is "definitely playing" in game 6. wtf.

I cant watch the NBA anymore. These series are a joke and they're fixed to go the distance. I'm sorry. They just are. In the first two games the Celts were getting all the calls. I mean, they were getting everything called there way. Then Game 3 comes and Kobe is practically driving everytime he gets the ball, not even trying to make a basket, just jumping and throwing his arms in the air while looking at the ref and they call the foul everytime. I truely believe what that dirty ref is saying about playoff series being fixed to go to 7 games. Last night the Celtics, specifically KG werent getting any calls. It was unreal. KG got absolute hacked atleast 6 times that i counted and nothing was called and then they would call an absolute ticky tack foul on the Celts at the other end. I've never seen anything like this. Its been this way in more then one series this year. I have no horse in this series, i'm not rooting against or for the Celts or the Lakers. Its so obvious to me though. And its like the elephant in the room type deal. No one wants to actually say it on TV. But its there. I fully expect this series to go 7 games because of this.

Luke Walton was a beast last night. Did you see him pick up that 5th team foul defending pierce at half court for no good reason whatsoever....

FYI, free throws/free throw attempts for game 5...

shit, I remember when plays like that were common in the NBA, no one cared about "going for the ball" you had teams like Detroit who would say "We're not going to allow a layup this game, if they're going to beat us, it will be jum shorts outide the paint"

heck, Celtics/lakers of the 80's same type of stuff...

They used to say Jordan wouldn't have been Jordan back in the 50's-60's cause he would have made 1 free throw line leaping dunk and then the next time Russell or Chamberlin would have knocked him into the cheap seats.

LOL. You are an idiot.

I guess the NBA should regress to the ways of the 50's and 60's. There is a difference between a good hard foul, and a flagrant. Clotheslining someone in mid-air is just dirty, and cheap.

Pretty sure Basketball isn't a full contact sport. VEL is a bitch, so can someone quote this post for me.

not really the point, though. the numbers would be different if calls were actually being made. just because the teams shoot the same amount of free throws doesn't mean that one team wasn't screwed. not saying that's what happened, but there were some definite missed calls last night.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-16-2008 07:21 PM

That first foul by Posey on Deng was pretty rough but that announcer needs to chill out, the second one they showed wasn't ALL that bad.

Also I agree with WeX, I hate how people always just looks at s the numbers to decided whether or not a team got breaks or not. I mean why can't one team commit like 10 more fouls than the other team? That seems pretty reasonable to me.

Not really gonna complain about the refs though, that was a tough call at the end. I thought Pierce just dribbled it off his thigh, didn't even realize Kobe hit him until I saw the replay.

Also totally unrelated but I guess Bill Walker from Kansas State is staying in the draft even though he hurt his knee in work outs. Really want this guy to fall to the Celtics and have them pick him up

lmfao...

glad to see 10 "real" lakers fans could make it..

suprised I didn't see Jack, Sly, Eddie, Will or Justin with that group...

Also, anyone else find it funny that Jack sits on the vistors bench now... he jumped up at one point and almost ran into Doc...

I would assume at some point some team will complain about that stuff...

Juan 06-16-2008 08:44 PM

Also, what is that thing that KG wears on his finger? I've never gotten a good look at it, just glimpses.

SammyG 06-16-2008 09:22 PM

lol on that same tmz site, there's a vid of Lamar last night at a club after the game. Perkins is officially liste as a game time decision for game 6, hopefully he does not play.

SammyG 06-17-2008 12:46 AM

lol yeah, seen it. Anyway, Celtics plane JUST landed in Boston, they had mechanical problems. I am starting to find these sequences ridiculous, of Laker opponents.

Denver : Their bus caught on fire on the way to staples
Utah : Kirilienko had Visa problems flying back to Utah.
Spurs: Their flight to LA for game 1 was delayed for like 10 hours and they had to sleep on the plane overnight.

MCEazy 06-17-2008 12:49 AM

hmm, Stern's got people fukin with the plane engines maybe? lol

SammyG 06-17-2008 12:53 AM

Phil Jackson:

Quote:

Chris Mihm made a surprise appearance and played almost three minutes in the second quarter, while Trevor Ariza and Ronny Turiaf didn't even total three minutes of playing time. "We tried some different faces out there to see what we could do, but we're not going to stay with that," Jackson said. "We won't be comfortable with that" tonight.

I second this, the way the lakers have been playing in these finals, the celtics shouldn't have to resort to oscar winning performances :nono:

lol, yeah...like i said in an earlier post, KG gets away with that shit ALL the time...

MCEazy 06-17-2008 08:57 PM

anyone know who's gonna be reffin tonite?

McLegend 06-17-2008 09:00 PM

Salvotre Bennet, Joe Crawford, and one other semi famous Referree.

McLegend 06-17-2008 09:02 PM

Actually the 3rd one is Eddie Rush and isn't famous at all.

Actually his name Bennett Salvatore, and he is horrible. So as a Lakers fan you should like that.

MCEazy 06-17-2008 09:05 PM

ah, we have a chance then

McLegend 06-17-2008 10:19 PM

Two things in first like 6 mins or so

1) Whistle blowing way too much.

2) Kobe came to play.

MCEazy 06-17-2008 10:28 PM

indeed, three 3's already, garnet's heating up tho

McLegend 06-17-2008 10:34 PM

Much better flow to the last half of that quarter.

MCEazy 06-17-2008 10:36 PM

yeh, things are looking fairly close so far, hard to tell who's gonna get the first # - 0 run

MCEazy 06-17-2008 10:43 PM

lol, typical crawford

McLegend 06-17-2008 10:54 PM

Here comes the blowout.

McLegend 06-17-2008 10:56 PM

Might end up being a classic Kobe game where he just gives up and stops shooting.

example being some game against the Pistons in the finals. I think it was game 5. Then Game 7 against the Suns two years ago.

McLegend 06-17-2008 10:56 PM

I very well could be wrong though.

MCEazy 06-17-2008 11:00 PM

well hopefully not.. fuk another injury "performance" by the celtics

MCEazy 06-17-2008 11:06 PM

fuk rad's gotta be one of the worst starters in a finals series all time.

Juan 06-17-2008 11:11 PM

:n:

Juan 06-17-2008 11:12 PM

Enough about Paul Pierce already!
