Shit Cover.

Swish 07-16-2012 07:31 PM

All this hype for a shit ass game, mugs will buy it, kids will buy it.
Why can't they just go back to the Wrestlemania 2000 days?

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2012 01:16 AM

I loved WM 2000 and No Mercy, but I'm also tired of the old 'let's go back to...' comments for long running franchises.

Fignuts 07-17-2012 01:43 AM

Those games haven't aged as well as everyone likes to think.

James Steele 07-17-2012 05:02 AM

I like the CM Punk cover better.

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2012 06:30 AM

They should really go through with the People Power cover. I was hoping for an actual pre-order type deal.

...wow. *Insert "no wonder they went bust" comment here*

Emperor Smeat 07-20-2012 05:47 PM

Seems odd that they split the Austin DVD between the PS3 and Xbox 360 sets

whiteyford 07-21-2012 04:38 AM

£65????

On the bright side, there's finally a reanimated stunner that doesn't have a flip.

If you mean graphics then yeah but they were made in an older time and I accept that. To me they've aged better than the godawful Smackdown vs RAWs 2008 & 2009 (the two black sheep of the SD gaming franchise)

Xero 07-23-2012 04:29 PM

DOR has aged a lot better than No Mercy, honestly.

Why bring up the black sheep of the franchise against two beloved games? I don't get that.

Dark-Slicer Diago 07-26-2012 10:45 AM

Pennywise - Revolution(official WWE '13 theme)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LFnYju90PNQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

and according to a twitter post from Cory Ledesma, that song and the superstars themes will be the menu music.

SlickyTrickyDamon 07-26-2012 11:27 AM

Bet THQ isn't happy the cover-star of WWE 13 is now a heel.

Kalyx triaD 07-26-2012 01:03 PM

That wouldn't be the same THQ that made HHH a cover star when most his career was heel?

THQ probably would be more upset how every year the roster is a bit outdated due to the WWE almost never telling them when releases are done or when certain character changes are made.

Emperor Smeat 07-26-2012 06:45 PM

THQ recently released a new video for the game which shows off some of the changes WWE 13 is going to have mostly in the audio department.

Quote:

* “WWE Live” takes real-life life crowd audio into the gameplay, so that the arena reactions have more depth
* Authentic ring weapon sounds have been recorded and transferred into the game
* Two commentary teams—Jerry Lawler & Michael Cole for the modern era, with Lawler & “J.R.” Jim Ross
* Commentary has been expanded with more context-specific lines and quotes
* New larger character models have been included for “giant” wrestler types like Big Show and Mark Henry
* Updated “Predator” combat engine includes new mid-air finishers and reversals

Really hated the commentary the last few years so any change is good.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-26-2012 06:57 PM

Might actually buy this just to re-create the Deadly Games tournament.

Didn't GAME buy GameStation a few years back? Wouldn't their prices have come in line?

Eklipse 07-28-2012 06:20 PM

I just want to be able to see a CaS with a title without the belt floating 2 feet away from their body.

PorkSoda 07-28-2012 07:54 PM

Kama Mustafa and D'lo? Nice.

Looks like I was only half right.

In the new video, it shows the full new animation.

Despite the fact that it doesn't look like it should have a flip, it still does, it's just not as exaggerated.

Lame.

With that said, there's a new shining wizard, which gives me hope for new moves.

James Steele 07-29-2012 06:38 AM

FUCK YES on the old ppv sets.

One of my top 5 PPVs of all time. Fuck to the yeah.

Maya Bristow 07-29-2012 11:19 AM

We still have Jerry "The Hasbeen" Lawler & Michael Cole as modern day WWE commentators only for a WWE game? No Booker T & Josh Matthews for modern day SD! in a WWE game yet? Oh well at least JR is back commenting in a WWE game

SlickyTrickyDamon 07-29-2012 11:30 AM

Another year and no Shucky Ducky Quack Quack.... :'(

Evil Vito 07-29-2012 01:50 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Apparently they added an extra slot to the Attitude Era roster - bringing the Attitude Era total up to 33. Not too long after that happened, Kurt Angle went to Twitter and said he would be in WWE 13. He retracted his statement hours later, saying he didn't know if he would be in.

Angle is the one Attitude Era TNA guy I could see them going out of their way to try and bring in to the game. I don't think WWE want Jeff Hardy anywhere near their games at this point, and as much as I love Al Snow and D'Lo Brown (not convinced that write-up was a D'Lo confirmation) I don't think they'd really bother going above and beyond to get them into the game.

Angle being in wouldn't hurt TNA at all, it'd just mean Kurt gets royalties. Plus Brock was still under UFC contract when he was put into the game last year so it's not exactly unprecedented. Team ECK Reunion in Attitude Era mode?</font>

Fox 07-29-2012 06:50 PM

With WWE allowing Christian to appear on a TNA PPV, it appears that relations between the two companies are not exactly hostile. I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a deal to have Angle in the game.

If anything, it'd help TNA because casual fans might wanna see what Angle is upto nowadays. Short of having footage of Vince McMahon fucking a goat, there is nothing TNA could do to hurt WWE and any publicity WWE gives TNA helps TNA without hurting WWE at all.

Emperor Smeat 08-01-2012 07:07 PM

THQ announces no Wii U version nor any other platforms besides the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii just like last year. Probably also means no late port either due to the schedule and way THQ works on the games.

http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...ii-u-says-thq/

Emperor Smeat 08-03-2012 06:57 PM

JR was interviewed recently in regards to the commentary and he mentioned that the Attitude Era part of the game has a lot more ad libbed content for commentary than the modern/current portion which mostly follows the script THQ has for the game.

Quote:

Jim Ross stated the following on his official blog:

"Thoughts on WWE13 from THQ? It's the best script yet plus King and I got to sit side by side and do some enhanced ad libs for the Attitude Era portion of the video game. Pre orders are rocking and the game goes on sale in October. I'll be doing some THQ promotion during Summerslam weekend which does NOT mean I'm broadcasting Summerslam."
