Didn't NHL have stuff patched in though?

Yea, plans to update. Hopefully this title can be updated in a similar fashion. *link is for NHL, not WWE* |

Similar to the release of last gen versions, newlegacyinc is hosting another WWE 2k15 midnight release stream for the current gen version tonight (PS4). Might help sway some decisions about getting or not getting this version of the game.
Starts somewhere between midnight and 12:30ish EST http://hitbox.tv/newlegacyinc |
|
Apparently next-gen is getting better review scores than 360/PS3, although not by much. IGN gave it a solid 7.

Played for about 30 minutes this morning. Started the Punk/Cena showcase.
The presentation is awesome. They do a ppv-movie-type trailer/summary that talks about the rivalry and showing real WWE footage leading up the match you are about to play. It felt great to relive the MITB match between Punk/Cena. I felt the Punk model is sub-par compared to most of the other models. Not sure if he was available for scanning when they were scanning everyone else or what... but yea. Gameplay feels completely different. Every previous version of WWE games I have been able to play on Legendary difficulty with Epic match settings and absolutely dominated from start to finish. Counters were very easy to execute, they feel much harder this time around. The icon pops-up, but if you press the counter button as soon as you see it, 99% of the time, it is "Too early". You have to be pretty spot on as the impact of the move takes place to effectively counter it. Back to the match...... I didn't bother with checking the options so everything was at default and Cena pretty thoroughly kicked my ass. The chain wrestling feature is nice and adds the realism element to the flow of things. You can strike or wrench your opponent in each hold up to 3 times per hold (trying to find the hotspot). The CPU was surprisingly fast at this and it made for a really good back and forth feel to start off the match. The commentary, while still spotty at times is by far the best commentary of any previous WWE game to date. It is obvious when Cole/Lawler or any other combination of announcers are calling the match that they recorded actual conversations and not just one liner after one liner. After having my ass kicked, I went to exhibition and did a 6 man tag of The Shield v The Wyatt Family. The Shield entrance could have been better, but it works for what it is. Started the match as Ambrose (v Luke Harper) and it was somewhat even. Harper tagged out when he started getting a beat down and Bray came in and started tearing Ambrose apart. I tagged in Reigns and things felt like they were more even. I highlight this because each superstar feels different when you play as them. Reigns hits hard and his moves have quite a bit of impact and it feels that way. Briefly checked the community creations and updated Rollins and Ambrose already exist and look incredibly accurate. Here is hoping they patch custom themes in at a later time. That is the extent of what I was able to do in the short time before I had to leave for work. So far, it feels reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good and I am looking forward to mixing it up after work this afternoon/evening. |
This plays sooooooooo much better than any other smackdown game.
Looks amazing too. Just doing the Triple H vs HBK showcase right now, and I'm loving it so far. Booker T doesn't look like a deformed loony toon! |

Would you recommend a pickup fig?cancelled my preorder but my son still wants it,I may pick it up on friday |
I would say yes. Even with all that's been cut this year, there is still a ton to do, and from a gameplay standpoint, everything feels different.
One thing in particular I noticed is how much more solid strikes are. Especially when guys are getting up? Remember in past games how when you attacked guys getting up that it would look really weak, like it was just sliding right off? Not here. You get solid connections on your strikes while they get up. It looks really good. There are a ton of little things like that in the game. When you get a guy beat down enough and his stamina is low, he'll crawl to the ropes to help him up. I did a top rope elbow drop on a guy crawling, thinking it would slide right off like in previous games, but I flattened him right back onto the mat. So satisfying. Also did a running attack on a guy who was crawling and kicked him right in the gut. The big thing is that everything just flows so much better like drave said. Gonna try Career for the rest of the night. |
No Sting for you!
|
I preordered at walmart and there was no Sting code inside lol
|
Had a couple of hours with this last night and it is definitely worth it, especially if you are a WWE fan.
It took me 4 tries to beat Cena in the MITB match with CM Punk. The match flow had a good feel to it. Cena is really fucking tough to beat though. I had my signature available while Cena was at 29% momentum. I hit it, then he did his "comeback" 5 moves of doom and fucking beat me more than once. Pretty annoying at times, but true to the product I guess. After the win, Vince came down yelling to "Get Del Rio down here damnit!" (he was MITB holder at that time). Showcase mode is highly entertaining and done incredibly well. It somewhat resembles the Attitude Era mode from 13. The win came after a hard-fought 15 minute match with both Punk and Cena being exhausted, me kicking out of an AA, Cena kicking out of one GTS, but not the 2nd one. It was a solid back and forth match and I never really felt like I was "dominating". Did a few matches in the HHH v HBK showcase and it has an awesome feel to it as well. Starts with the unsanctioned street fight from Summerslam 2002. They added in a few elements to give it a realism factor. For example, an objective popped up mid match for HBK (me) to do a top rope signature move on HHH. As I initiated the signature, the match entered a "cinematic" where I was not in control. It involved HHH racking HBK and then beating his ass with a chair, just as he did in their actual match. The commentary from the actual match was imported so it "flowed" as if it did on the actual PPV. Took me two times to be successful in that match as the first time HHH reversed Sweet Chin Music into a Pedigree and stole it. Spent some time creating a custom superstar. The default create options are incredibly limited and IMO, suck. There were a total of 10 hair styles all of which are modeled after current WWE Superstars. I guess it is somewhat of a double-edged blade as previous CAW environments felt diluted with TOO many choices in certain categories. I did go to the upload studio and holy shit there are a TON of options, and most are very well done. Downloaded some Sons of Anarchy gear because fuck you it's awesome. Users have absolutely perfected new logos (Ambrose, Rollins, etc.) as well as updated models, including Stardust. Only had my first two matches in MyCareer which has involved Bill DeMott yelling at me throughout the whole match at the Performance Center in front of no one. That can make things feel as if they are starting very slow, but getting used to it. Had a 4/5 star match with Corey Graves and you are graded on various areas that increase your overall match performance which leads to more attribute points. The only negative I can really give is on some of the superstar models. Some of them are incredibly well done because of being scanned, but others are quite horrible. The difference between who was scanned in and who was not is very apparent which can lead to a kind of "sigh" moment pertaining to current gen. They have done well with the game, and 2K16 can only improve upon the new base they have built. |

I must've been lucky, I beat Cena at MITB with only my second try, though I have to admit I was VERY close to losing that time too if I didn't manage to kick out of that AA.
BTW, with PS4 do I need PS Plus to use the in-game store? I opened it 5x and it was always empty, I had to look in the PlayStation store after closing the game to find the accelerator as I had already had punched in the Sting and Season Pass codes. |
Not too sure. I currently do not have XBL Gold and I can actively use/download. I would assume PSN operates the same.
|
That's what I thought, since I do have Sting and the accelerator in game, but nothing else, there seems to be an issue with the in-game store on PS4 then, since even the games tab in the actual PS Store on PS4 on has the game itself and not any addons.
|
Fighting the main roster guys in career mode when you first move up to Superstars is really tough.
|
Uploading my face is awesome, I had a rough draft to work off and take notes on. I think I'm going to fully enjoy this game.
What do we have to do to get this download limit and lack of space in community creations unfucked?? |
What is fucked about it other than the limitations?
The creation suite is quite robust in the sense of what end users, or "players" can achieve. If I am thinking about it correctly, they most likely imposed limits to compensate for better server performance. The download limit is time based, so after x amount of time, you can download MOAR STUFFZ! |
I have to say, I'm quite liking the chain grappling system though it's taking me some time to master, since it's embarrassing to have Cena break Punks chain on the last hold.
|
It makes things interesting for sure. The fact that the CPU is decent at it is great as well. I have never been more happy to lose a match in a WWE game, especially when the majority of the matches are well contested.

Is it just 25 items a day or am I reading this wrong |
Per day, or whatever timer it is on. I failed to look at the timer reset at the bottom of the screen after downloading the SAMCRO stuff yesterday.
Also like that CaW's from MyCareer can "invade" mycareer of people on friends list. |
My dude is totes going to curb stomp your facehole.
|
oh really??
I thought it was overall. That's ok with me then, I was wondering what the piss I was going to do with only 25 wrestlers |
Quote:
|
Awwww shit, didn't know you were rocking it too. In that case, the chapters need to meet up and dominate the piss outta tits.
|
It was the hottest item and I'm SAMCRO so it fit. You're gonna have to win your way back in if you want to ride with me.
|
Any challenge you throw down will be eviscerated with prejudice. That is how I roll - no remorse.
|
Need to get some pics over the weekend or something to get an accurate model of my ink and face. Kinda generic right now because I didn't want to waste hours and just actually play.

You find Scott Norton yet?
|
We don't get it till Friday, gonna have to put some thought into what caws I get this year since it's only 25 slots.
|
You should create me. I'm a great IC champion
|
Can use the Black-Cena Darren Fro for you.
|
I dunno, you are a bit known for your flippy high spots screech.
|
Nonsense. I'm a technical wizard.

Lemme check again.
|
<font color=goldenrod>I believe it's you can only download 25 things total per day (CAWs, movesets, etc.) but there are only 25 CAW slots available.
So if you don't care about downloading movesets, attires, etc. you could sit down, download 25 CAWs in one go, and not need to download anything again until you decide to delete some CAWs to make room for new ones.</font> |
Official Answer:
@WWEgames Are there more than 100 CAW save slots this year? Answer - PS3/360 players will have 100 CAW slots. For PS4/XB1 players, there will be 25 slots, which pushes first party limits given the visual fidelity of the Superstars. (1 of 2) Answer - We are working hard to increase this number in the future (2 of 2) |
Looks like quality over quantitties.
|
Going home to poop, do family stuff for a bit, catch up on SoA.
I downloaded a few things last night and will be able to czech total slots/time limit stuff. |
Just picked this up during my lunch break, cannot wait to finish work and get into this.
|
Having some really awesome matches here, lads.
|
Quote:
I accept that |
Yeah, I wasn't sure about that answer at first, but after playing it, I'm totally good with it.
|
25 slots is pathetic.
|
There's no story mode to make out of them so they could basically have 5/5 and it wouldn't mean a fuck to me.
|
Not buying another WWE game without create-a-story restored.
|
Played a handful of matches so far and lost pretty much all of them and I'm only on normal difficulty. The only changes I've made to the balances so far are the power of finishers and weapons (turned them up)
The pacing of the matches is completely different and is taking a bit to get used to, but I like that it's been slowed down. Love the chain wrestling mechanic but again it's taking a while to get used to it and who can do it. The character models are pretty amazing but it's obvious between which have been scanned and which have not. Going to jump into career mode once I've got more of a handle on things. |
Still torn on whether to get this or not. I haven't picked up a WWE game on release since SvR 2011 and just skipped WWE 12 and 14 entirely.
|
What has you on the fence?
|
Other stuff to play, less than stellar reviews and general grumblings.
|
I would say if you are a wrestling fan, you will enjoy it.
|
As would I, I think this one is far better than SvR '11.

Took me the same, true to life that he counters your finisher, hits his and you lose.
|
Bill Demott's comments during the Performance Center training in MyCareer is the most annoying fucking thing in this game.
Won my first two NXT matches so far. They were against custom superstars though, but the last guy was HUGE and was throwing me around quite a bit, even after a clothesline from hell (signature) and a double-underhook sitting piledriver. If I win two more in a row, I will be the #1 contender. Regal said there is someone in the back itching to fight me, so I am wondering if it will be an actual NXT superstar this time around. Ready to go home and play some more, it really is a fun game. |

Mate was saying you have to buy moves, 250k for the Superman punch.
|
Is that really worth me getting a new console for?
|
Can I has digital Cunt Whitey?
Need to get your XBL tag, despite the time difference. |
You know you love me Baird.
|
I dunno if I love you enough to own a PS4 and an Xbox One though.
|
Fine be that way, you used to be cool man.
|
That was before his neck looked like a vagina!
|
Went to get this today thinking it was a international release on Tuesday, looked proper stupid.
Also, they offered me £21 trade in for a brand new COD still in the cellophane. |
Quote:
I will be playing it slow, still getting yelled at by Hugh Morrus as of last night. |
Couple negatives about gameplay
They need to get rid of the stomp reversal where the guy rolls to his feet in super speed. It looked bad before, but now that the rest of the game is more realistic it looks even worse. Mysterio and Bryan can get away with it, but when Big SHow or Ryback does it, I cringe. Also, tag matches are a bit of a pain now, because your partners do absolutely nothing. You have to knock your opponents off the apron yourself if you don't want them to interfere with a pin. Hopefully that gets patched. Minor gripes at best though. Also, is reversing finishers way easier now for anyone else? Did the entire HBK vs HHH showcase, and HBK never hit sweet chin music once. Reversed it every time. AA is tougher, but I've still reversed that a bunch of times too. |
Just looked at downloading it from the store. £54.99!! How does that work if most places retail at £45? You'd think the hardcopy would cost more.
|
It's shit. They work off the recommended retail price I suppose, and shops just choose to discount it. They keep charging it because people keep paying it, I presume.
I wanted to go digital in PS3 because my disk drive was ridiculously loud, but I wouldn't want to on PS4. I feel like my hard drive would need to be many terabytes by the end of the generation |
<font color=goldenrod>So just read a spoiler about Career Mode. Word of advice for those who want to make it last:
SPOILER: show |
Paid the extra for day of release delivery and yay it hasn't arrived.
|
Just started my career, Bill Demott is a dick.
Enjoying this quite a lot, getting used to the controls and pacing so will crank up the difficulty I think. I find the tables a bit retarded, so difficult to set them up and try and put someone through them. |
Gonna def pick this up next week for 30 or 40 bucks ,Black Friday yall

Have ordered this...is Universe Mode still in? And if so, are there any differences between that and last year?
Things like Career are fine, but what gives the game longevity for me is the Universe Mode, after I have played through through Career and Rivalries once, I will be done with those... |
Universe is in, and I remember reading that they have made improvements to the rivalries. You can actually book cut scenes yourself, though apparently you have to unlock them by experiencing them randomly.
Besides that, I believe it's mostly the same. |
I lost my number one contenders match for the NXT title against Bo Dallas but somehow Regal thought I was good enough for it anyway. I showed him when I then lost the title match against Adrian Neville.
|

BTW - Am I missing where to change the mycareer wrestler name and call name? Mine still goes by "Superstar". I made a 2nd one last night to check and still could not find the place to change this :| |
Last screen of CAW in the other versions. Where you set your hometown.
|
That is what I thought too......
I will have to look a third time. I saw hometown, but nothing for a name :( |
Quote:
That's good, I heard the booking was terrible and guys are sometimes booked in 2 or 3 matches a night, but even with that, will still play universe 99% of the time... |
I caved and bought the Digital Deluxe edition for £59.99. It includes the Season Pass so it works out cheaper. Little gutted that I didn't get the pre-order in the morning with Sting.
Played a few matches earlier. Beat Bryan with Bray, lost to Ziggler twice as Cesaro before beating him on the third go around. Then beat Ziggler for the belt as Harper. I'm liking the new system so far. Bit weird that they took out the Ladder Match but left in TLC. Though I suppose they're one and the same for the most part. |

How do you get up on the pod in the 2k showcase elimination chamber
followed instructions to no avail |
up and A when you are on the top rope already.
|
Is it? Pretty sure I used I used a shoulder button. Or maybe I just held towards the pod and eventually climbed.
I'm enjoying the game so far. Frustrated by my inability to time the kick out mechanism right. Lost the EC in the HHH/HBK Showcase cos I couldn't kick out. |

They don't have Rae and Van as seperate pronouncing words?
|
What are the chances they make Sting/Hogan available to purchase?
|
Usually do after Christmas with preorder DLC
|
Found where to name him, thanks for the info :y:
Really enjoying the showcase mode. Playing mainly through Cena/Punk right now and love the new presentations they do mid-match. Having fun with career mode too. You can definitely tell a huge difference when you are in the ring with a "good" wrestler and not. Difficulty seems to vary a bit. |

Moved up to Superstars and lost the NXT title in my first match, won it back then dropped it to Rusev. Currently working on getting to the PPV against some jobber that the Universe apparently can't wait to see me face.
|
I pre-ordered this game and got a code for Sting for WWE2K15 on the PS4. I entered the code on the PS4 store, it says it's valid, shows me the Sting pack and says "Your promotion code has been redeemed, you may now download your purchase" Only thing is, there's nowhere to download this... the box is grayed out and I'm just permanently stuck on this screen. Sting isn't anywhere in the game either, I've checked the downloadable superstars page.. How can I download my purchase into the game? It's nowhere in the PS store, nothing on addons... Super frustrating! Help would be much appreciated, thanks!!
