Just like the other thread except the exact opposite. Who had a great gimmick but ended up fucking blowing it?

Kane didn't blow the Kane character. The fact that he's still over to the point he is is 100% Jacobs and a testament to how great he is. WWE blew it.

Yeah Marty wasn't that great in the ring but he was amazing in his character. This is a case of WWE not wanting to write for him anymore. Maybe out of boredom or maybe out of ideas completely.


I was tired of him. Definitely ran its course.

I wouldn't call him a bad wrestler either, it's just that his character has had some bad storylines after a while and his backstory became somewhat jumbled when you look at certain parts.

Mr. Machon and Shane McMahon. What better gimmick than being the bosses son and the boss. Especially when it true. Shane could make a match fun to watch but def cant wrestle.

TL Hopper. Really thought a plumber gimmick could have taken off if the actor/wrestler had the legs.

What??? Shane could flat out wrestle esp jumipng off the titan-tron and doing the coast to coast move. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

I liked the Mordecai gimmick, although that PPV was horrendous.

Ok, I've misunderstood this thread. I thought it based on gimmicks that worked for a wrestler who was poor, not a good gimmick that would have worked on anybody.

I actually read and interview featuring Ron Reis (The Yet-tay) and he explained the Ninja. He said that at the World War 3 PPV, it was gonna be The Giant, El Gigante (Giant Gonzales) was gonna come back and Ron was suppose to me some Giant from the orient. This way at the end of the battle royal it was gonna be Hogan vs 3 "Giants" :-\

It worked really well for Cena...not so much for Jesse Gordy.

Nailz. Hands down a solid gimmick. He came in there and made a big statement by his severe beating of the Bossman. I don't think he could ever have been a main eventer, but I think he could of had at least a few solid months of midcard work with the Bossman. Maybe even teaming up with the Mountie in some tag matches.

Sadly, he had to live every wrestler's dream and strangle McMahon. Plus, he was absolute rubbish in the ring. That one nightstick-on-a-pole match was almost unwatchable.

Kurt Angle is not a fucking gimmick you goddamn tool. Kurt Angle has ALWAYS been himself. He is an Olympic Gold Medalist, an amazing athlete & an all American.

Aside from that you considering Angle to be the WORST wrestler is beyond belligerent.
