Daniel Bryan losing at Mania Could be the best thing for his career
Daniel Bryan being the first person to lose a money in the bank cash in could possibly be great for him. The branching story lines (if WWE chooses to play its cards right) could make him a household name.
One scenario could be that he snaps and goes heel. this is the one that make the most sense to me. He could go ruthless heel and start ripping through the mid-card with what will be an epic beard by that time. and eventually making it back and having a reign of terror over the WWE. Scenario two would see him just be a more serious character, an anti-face if you will, and just be like a Chris Benoit with a come in, kick ass, leave type of gimmick where he doesn't do a lot of talking, just wrestle and have the announcers play up his new found focus. |
Daniel Bryan will never be a household name.
|
It could also lead to a smarktard murdering Vince.
|
He could grow out his beard and refuse to shave it until he's World Champion.

Everybody needs to grow a beard |
I wonder how many posts have been made in the history of TPWW suggesting that someone could get a main event push by snapping and going heel.
At least 3,000. |
I never said main event

Daniel Bryan losing a World Heavyweight Title match at Wrestlemania and becoming a heel who never rises above the midcard would be better for his career than winning the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania?
|
yes
|
Winning the strap and having no one care id say is a major fail no matter what ppv it is. see Mr. Swagger

I'm sure Jack Swagger gets really depressed about winning the World Heavyweight Title when he remembers he could have spent those four months feuding with Santino and never appearing on PPV.
|
Although I guess if the whole snap and go heel thing would get anyone over, it'd probably be Bryan.

I'd trade that title reign for a great overall career any day. I'm just saying look where he is now |
In my heart, I really want Bryan Danielson to win the World Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania.

Congrats on making Danielson even more boring. Also he doesnt look threatening enough to be a srs heel, at least with Benoit you could tell he was a legit psycho, nobody was rly shocked when he murdered his family cuz he looked the type innit. |

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Swagger winning the world title didn't make him a jobber, bad booking did. It's unlikely that his booking would have been any better if he was never champion since he was fast tracked back to the midcard.
What you actually seem to be saying here is that Daniel Bryan being booked strongly would be the best thing for his career. Losing at Wrestlemania isn't really going to to anything for him if nobody cares if he wins or loses, he could lose to Trent Baretta on Smackdown then snap and it would have the exact same effect. |

If they give him a good build up, develop his character and give people a reason to want to see his match or maybe even want him to win it then there's no reason to hold off giving him the belt. If you build him him and make him look like he can't get the job done you've practically turned him into Bobby Roode. If you don't build him up at all why is he in the match in the first place? Then we're just left with a midcard heel who somehow miraculously became a household name because he lost a match nobody gave a shit about.
|
I thought Bobby Roode was the guy in TNA now. and i see where you are coming from
|
If we want to fully apply a Bobby Roode push then Randy Orton beats Bryan at Mania, Orton loses the title to Sin Cara clean on Smackdown in under a minute with no build up, Bryan wins the title by knocking Sin Cara out with a trampoline the following week then defends it against John Morrison on the next PPV, which is headlined by HHH & Vince vs Kevin Nash & Johnny Ace.

lmao point taken

If he's gonna snap and go heel, he can use the Stomps (where he pulls up the victim's arms while they're flat on the mat and stomps their head repeatedly) or the MMA Elbows as his finish. Both are fairly savage looking maneuvers.
|
I know this has already been touched upon in this thread, but is there anybody people wouldn't like if they snapped and became a badass heel? It seems to always be peoples answer to pushing someone.
|
Maybe Morrison? Cause carebears are possibly more badass than doing a cartwheel before punching somebody.
|
And now it's time for "Arm Chair booking with FourFifty"
Let Daniel Bryan cash his MITB and win at 'Mania. Give him the WHC, just to have someone who won a MITB match at 'Mania cash it in on Bryan. The MITB means too much at the moment for it to be lost. This way Bryan gets his title, he doesn't leave 'Mania with it, and it sets up a nice triple threat match for Backlash. |
I'd say have him lose at WM, somebody's gotta lose that MITB match. He's so young it won't kill him. Shawn didn't win at WM 11 and it totally worked. I think having Bryan slowly turn heel between now and WM would be good if he was going against Orton or Sheamus but if he goes up with Henry then keep him face obviously.
|
Actually, considering what happens at Smackdown this week, I could see the start of a decent BD push.
SPOILER: show That, or Henry will just crush DB several times in a row, and that'll be that. |
He should go in the Scott Steiner direction. Take alot of "dietary supplements" to get ridiculously massive and cut promos were he rambles incoherently for 5 minutes, then cash in Money in the Bank. That sounds like my kinda world champ
|
Steiner should just come and take the briefcase from Bryan, he could do it you know?
|
Quote:
but no no really it wouldn't work WWE dosent have enough faith and frankly never will to make DB a champ yes I know about 50 million IWC fanboys ejaculated at once when Bryan won MITB but I'm just being realistic. |
I think Bryan, in all honesty, would be just as good in a set-up man role. Where he has classic matches with the next big guy who's going for the world title.
|
I'm not getting the original post. How can this make Daniel Bryan a household name? You've pretty much just given two suggestions to storylines that could happen after Wrestlemania, but not said how it'd make him a 'household name', (and by that, I'm assuming you mean along the lines of Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Steve Austin, John Cena etc)...
|
Let him evolve in those roles. Big Show is a household name. i was thinkng on that level
|
A good angle would be Daniel Bryan coming out to cash his briefcase and forgetting it at home causing him to DQ his chance and then his character will be that he is a retard who messes up all the time.
|
He should become a loner, no nonsense submission machine who plays by his own set of rules and yells out "wrestling is serious business".
|
He should have a hobo gimmick. Say that the WWE are only paying him just enough for food so he has to sleep on the street. Then have Morrison eat his lunch, starting up a feud between the two. Then Del Rio loses the title, so Bryan sells him his money in the bank contract in exchange for Del Rio allowing him to crash on Ricardo Rodriguez's couch, leading to hilarious backstage segments between the two discussing Bryan leaving the toilet seat up and not closing the fridge.
|
That then leads to a stable of Del Rio, Rodriguez and a reluctant Daniel "The Street Striker" Bryan. Eventually Del Rio gets sick of Bryan and beats down on him, until Rodriguez pulls Del Rio off him revealing that he has grown to love Bryan. This leads to this decades Billy and Chuck as Bryan and Rodriguez take the tag division by storm. Until Rodriguez goes on a losing streak which makes Bryan snap and become a badass heel.
A gay hobo badass heel. |
Snap.

My wife doesn't know who John Cena is. I doubt she'll ever know who Daniel Bryan is.
