That's a stacked card..
Hate that Belfort is getting the shot and not Machida/Shogun/Sonnen... |
I hope the 4 "great" fight are all but the main event cause all those will be awesome..
I see Jones getting a TKO victory in the 2nd due to GnP.. |
This is a proper PPV card. Funny that Greg "the sport killer" Jackson will be cornerman in 3 of the 5 fights on the main card. Awkward.......
BISSSSSSSS-PINGGGGGGGG
Stann is gonna KO him..
GO AMERICA!! |
by the power of tea and crumpets, The Marine not starring John Cena is going down, 3 rounds, unanimous decision, cue Bisping calling out Anderson Silva once every 6 minutes afterwards
Jones
Mighty Mouse Stann Hammil Cub |
Main event will be good, the fight it self might not be spectacular but i'm betting it will end with Jones KOing Belfort. KOs are always exciting.

uh huh, they don't call me Super Moddddd for nothing
especially Next Big Thing, he can't get enough of my modding |
Bisping hasn't ever beaten any big names
Leban
Sexyama Dan Miller Matt Hamill Mayhem Miller Dennis Kang His most impressive fight IMO was taking Rashad to a decision.. |

pffftttt standard TPWW yellow, the red forum layout is so two thousand and late. Everybody without font tags has a nice dull white

"Sexyama" is over. Matt Hamill is Decent Mayhem fought like a joke Kang is not a big name He took the loss to Rashad |
He almost beat Chael though but I think Chael was off his game that night.
He did beat Chael, it was a flat out robbery.

BIsbing has been mint lately. Even in his loss. But holy fuck brian stann is ready for this fight.

Both men looked mediocre but I thought Bisping won too. I think Sonnen is pretty unspectacular unless he has an opponent/fight that drives him to be better, for example Anderson Silva.
Does anyone know anything about Hamills new opponent?
whoa that just "triggered" the memory that Matt Hamill was in a dream I had last night and was cut (as in "busted open") during the weigh ins
Did he just randomly bust open or did something happen?
somebody must have done it because people were kicking off at somebody saying they'd ruined the fight, bit vague I know

It's basically Dana realizing he still has to promote Jones's fights and that he fucked up by railroading his next big superstar. Now he's just going to put it all on Greg Jackson talking him out of it. It's not like Jones told him okay I'll do it and then called back later and backed out. Jones saying "Alright I'm going to call my team and call you back in a little while," should have given him some indication that it wasn't all a lock and while I'm not the biggest Greg Jackson fan, look at his track record coaching fighters. Why wouldn't Jones listen to his coach over the promoter?
Jones should just embrace being the bad guy. If he does that and continues to eat his opponent's hearts he'll be alright. Some of Nike's most marketable stars are also the most "hated" by fans in their respective sports (Kobe, LeBron, Vick).

I was reffering to this sentence "....Talked him out of fighting Chael Sonnen on eight days f***ing notice, yet fighting Vitor Belfort off a full f***ing camp."
I think any fighter would want a full training camp against their opponent, although when I made that post I see I quoted the wrong paragraph, i meant to quote this one: Quote:

As an aside, the Jones family might have one badass weekend if everything goes right. Jones fights Saturday in Canada then he can fly down to Baltimore and watch both of his brothers start in the primetime game on NBC. Not a bad family tree if you ask me.
The Jones family has some sick genetics.
Have a bad feeling Belfort is going to get injured before saturday.
Who cares about the Jones family and their traits.
They should have a 6-man tag match, Jones and his bros vs Dana, Sonnen, Belfort.
I'm really excited about this card. I couldn't care less about Matt Hamill, but every other fight should be good. Jon Jones against Belfort isn't intriguing because Vitor has an ice cube's chance in hell, it's more like the anatomy of an execution. I want to see how Jones finishes him.
Rashad has been helping Vitor train but I still see a 2nd Round KO coming.
Surprised they didn't stop the fight there.....even though those punches weren't to hard.
FUCK YEAH Bisping
I knew Pip was gonna win, damn it
Jon Jones is a fucking beast but if Vitor somehow plants one on him here, I'm going apeshit
oofff heat for JBJ
he should def. just embrace being a heel ala Mayweather
lol John McCarthy all "well, you wanna play your games!" like he'd have just been like "meh" if Vitor landed that head kick at the start
Jones is fighting kind of wreckless. He might end up tapping if he's not careful.
the more I see of Greg Jackson, the more he kind of comes off like a creepy cult leader

Fuck yeah! Hell of a fight.
and bang, kimura out of nowhere

Ahhh. When I saw that other dude put the belt on Jones, I thought he and Dana were still beefing. Not a bad pop for Jones. He's got more Cena heat than full on heel in my opinion.

Fuck your PS3 by the way csl. |

I just read his Wiki page and his bio on Jackson MMA's website. How did Greg Jackson become such a force as a coach/trainer? His bio just said that he studied martial arts forever and then combined a bunch of shit into his own martial art in 1992. Did he just start training guys once UFC started in the 90s and had success with those guys and it grew into the monster it is today?
Nah I'm sick of your PS3 too. Fuck that shit!
feel like I may have to team with my PS3 here for a huge tag team bonanzapaloozafest
Quote:
Dana is right when he says Jackson is more of a politician/ business man though. Jackson's "martial art" that he developed is bullshit. He had great coaches on his staff like Mike Von Arsdale (wrestling) and Winklejohn (Muay Thai). Then he created a network with Renzo Gracie, Grudge Gym in Denver (Shane Carwin), Tri-Star (GSP) and Phil Nurse (Muay Thai Coach-God). Those guys do the real training, bu Jackson gets the credit because his name was on the door and he does the most interviews. Again, that's just my recollection mixed with a little bit of personal opinion. Not sure if it's entirely accurate. |
yah, heard the "you got big because of Diego" thing more than once
Sweet. I love Diego Sanchez.
Still weird because Diego wasn't even "the star" of TUF1 and while he has had a good run in UFC he hasn't ever been "the face of MMA".
True. But Rashad joined Jackson's after he won TUF 2 so I think that got him some extra credibility too.
It's kind of funny that Swanson got KO of the Night and Jones got Submission of the Night after Dana trashed Jacksons and called him a sport killer.
I screamed liek a little bitch when Belfort got the armbar and woke my mates baby up.
Kinda pissed off that the crowd booed DMJ/Benavidez b/c I thought it was FOTN (or Grant/Dunham) That guy who Hamill fought was fucking garbage, like a rly shit Phil Baroni. |
I would not have booed the Flyweight fight, but it wasn't a Fight Of The Night contender. While both men were fast and technical, it never looked like either of them would hurt the other standing. Fights are made more exciting by the element of danger that was missing.
I hope Dodson wins his title eliminator because a fight between him and DMJ would be fireworks. Dodson would make a good champion with his charisma as well, although that would mean another title for Greg "Sport Killer" Jackson's stable.
