WWE signs some vanilla midget in a mask
El Generico. He sucks. He weighs about as much as my cock. He has zero potential but smarks will blame it on the WWE's writing for why he doesn't get over.
This is your Gertner wrestling news of the day. |
Dude. Your cock ways 196 lbs???? why are you not in the porn industry????
|
I am. My name is Buck Naked
|
Worst thread ever. Watch the hype video for final battle 10 then watch the steen generico match from that ppv.
|
You're new here aren't you?
|
Kinda. :)
|
That being said, where's Sin Cara? Is he hurt again or something?
|
Yes. He had another surgery to his knee.
|
He's exactly the opposite of the rasslers the company needs to be signing.
|
6'6 300 lbs with tribal tattoos?
|
Hes pretty funny IMO.
Havent seen anything of him in the last like, 3/4 years though b/c ROH is trash. |
WWE is still trying to find "the next Rey Mysterio". That's all.
|
lol no he will get repackaged all kinds! I hope not tho.
|
WWE shoulda signed El Dandy. Never heard of this El Generico Taco Loco guy
|
WWE needs to re-sign Nathan Jones.

Good for him. Not sure why WWE signed him though. I think he's going to end up adjusting a lot of his style.
|
ĦOle!
|
Love El Generico

BRAINBUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAA

"I don't care for El Generico" is the exact phrase this one guy said before he had gay butt anal gay sex with another man.
Think about it. |

WWE finally found their new Latin star
|
His character is made for children, really curious to see what they do with him. Does he keep his name? The gimmick too?
|
They have to, because what else are you gonna do with a skinny white guy
|
Never heard of him. His name seems pretty bad though.
|
I like him, but he seems a lot more suited for the Indys.
|
Either way, he's probably accomplished a lot more than any of us ever will, so good for him. :y:
|
El Generico is the best
Fuck the H8ers |
<font color=goldenrod>Some people are worried that Generico will be "ruined" and he'll just be turned into another run of the mill guy. It seems like the worry is unfounded. WWE have been fantastic with barely altering an indy guys' schtick when they've brought them in recently.
At worst, they get watered down into a more one-dimensional form of their existing persona; there's really very little discernible difference between Kassius Ohno and Chris Hero, or Antonio Cesaro and Claudio Castagnoli, for example. It's not like we're going to see Kevin Steen, wrestling electrician any time soon.</font> |
He'll last as long as 'Scotty Goldman' did.
I like Generico, but he just doesn't fit in to the WWE in any shape or form. |
Why doesn't he fit in? What's wrong with him. If people the size of Daniel Bryan can find their place in WWE there is no reason why El Generico can't.
|
A Canadian-Fake Mexican? How could that not fit in the WWE? I'm surprised they didn't try that already.
<img src="http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/ep_trending/public/video/thumb/2012/03/20090810_raw_calgarykid.jpg" id="il_fi" height="361" width="642" style="padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px; padding-bottom: 8px;"> Close enough. |
He's so kid friendly. Isn't that what WWE is about? How doesn't that fit in?
|
Daniel Bryan has been extremely lucky. Before he won the US Title I really didn't have any hope for him, but there was obviously someone backstage rooting for the guy who gave him that chance. As soon as he won and showed what he could do with guys like the Miz and Ziggler, people started to notice. He was lucky to have a decent feud with the Big Show, who was on top form as a monster face at the time. He was then lucky to be paired with the up-and-coming AJ. He was lucky his catchphrase caught on, and he's now lucky to be in this top spot with Kane.
I'm not degrading his abilities or character, he's worked hard and improved his mic skills and charisma to levels I didn't think were possible; but in terms of using him as a benchmark for what other indy guys can do, I don't think it's comparable. Bryan has had a tonne of breaks in his favour. Generico doesn't have the look or the fanbase to the extent Punk or Bryan did. Let's not forget that those two were "the guys" in the independents along with Joe for years. Generico is a top guy, but he's not "the guy" - he doesn't have the same level of passionate support from the smark world or IWC. He's immensely talented and entertaining, but you won't get anywhere on those things alone. |
WWE will repackage him and he'll prob end up be a comedy character and then get future endeavored in a year. Best case scenario is that he ends up like the eternal buffoon Santino Marella and has a long run being a retard.

<font color=goldenrod>It's kinda weird to think that the WWE roster in 2013 could include CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black, Jon Moxley, Brodie Lee, El Generico, Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero, Matt Sydal, PAC, Mistico, and Paul Heyman.
That reads like one of those EWR games where you just raid the indies right away. Or Gertner's worst nightmare.</font> |
And rumor has it they wanna sign Sami Callihan too.

Comparing him to Rollins and Ambrose who have been called up as part of one of the biggest angles of last year, against the biggest rising name in the company and as part of the hottest stable is also a fallacy of logic. I guarantee Generico won't be given the same opportunity as those two. I just don't think he'll make it. He might not even get out of FCW, and if he does, it won't be for long. |
Quote:
Stop making up names. Oh wait I can too it too. Rumor is WWE is gonna sign German indy star Herr Hundhausen. Hopefully he doesn't mess up and end up in Vince's dog house. |

I bet he'll be called El Normalo in WWE
|
At least with all these new little Oompa Loompas getting signed, Hornswoggle will have some competition.
|
I've not seen a whole lot from El Generico but I have came across some of his matches and promos in the past and I can see what mike adamle is talking about and I pretty much agree with him.
I can imagine Generico being heavily used on Saturday Morning Slam or being in a comedic tag team with Santino. That's only if the WWE keep the El Generico character, which I'm pretty sure they will. Other than that, I can't really imagine him amounting to anything else in the WWE. If he was to be a champion, it would most likely be Tag Team Champion with Santino, but that's it. |
Don't know much about him, but no way the WWE lets him keep his current character. I believe CM Punk will be the last to do that.
|
I wonder if he'll get to use the brainbuster

I have never seen a match so I'm kind of disappointed that nobody has posted any. Off to YouTube to form my own opinion.

Again, not main event scene stuff, but that most likely isn't why they're bringing him in.

WWE could have saved money and just had Shaemus wear a mask a la Hulk Hogan/Captain America, can't wait to see these two side by side

This guy sucks? While I haven't watched a full match yet I would say that I'm impressed with his move set. He is using some old standards, modifying classic moves to fit his style and most importantly he has some pretty original and innovative stuff. Moving on to watching a full match and will post it later with thoughts. |

Necro is the most talented death match wrestler they've ever produced, but he had as much glory as he's gonna get. He was an alright brawler, but that's about all he could do when you didn't give him weapons.
|
He is a self admitted hack job (necro). No training and really no skill other than his ability to absorb pain.

Best thing that happened to Bryan in WWE was losing in 18 seconds to Sheamus and the following RAW where everyone came out in support.
From there the "yes yes yes ---- oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" stuff really exploded. Generico on the other hand, can be a great asset. he seems to be in slow mo in the air which is great. He may not be "THE" guy, but not every single wrestler can be I guess. I am all for roster diversification, it keeps things fresh. |

I kinda figured El Generico would be the one to take the ROH World title off of Kevin Steen, I wonder who's gonna do that. Jay Lethal maybe?

Maybe Michael Elgin. Other than that I really don't know.

Kane Knight, bang on as always. |
Really think they signed him to pair him up with Brodus Clay the more I think about it, Just fits him and Kevin Steen so perfectly.
|
He has the physique of Zach Gowen.
Dunno how well that's gonna work. |
Kane Knight's entire moveset is stretching for the donuts.

After watching a match a few quick notes on El Generico:
For a Lucha sytle wrestler he really isn't all that fluid. If he does make it to the main roster in WWE he needs a full body suit similar to what MVP wore to cover up the fact that he has the body of a wet noodle. on an unrelated note: Claudio and Hero's tag team The Kings of Wrestling HAS to show up in WWE someday.... |
Kassisus Ohno might be the worst of the all. He's flabby, boring in the ring and boring on the mic. No thanks.

Honestly a fun 10 minutes |
I think El Generico would fit nicely with "The Shield". He'd be a nice weapon for them to have.
