so is this american football? as id be interested to see if people would be up for one for the premiership (soccer/english football)

We'll probably end up doing the BBC one again, but the scoring system in that leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm in. I finished 4th in a 12 man league last year. Oddly, I had the LOWEST POINT TOTAL out of everyone. But I guess that was good enough to be humiliated in the first round of the playoffs

Yeah, you can draft during pre-season, right? If so, we should probably wait as late as we can to draft to prevent another Vick/Pennington situation.

Can people check out the scoring for the points league because Yahoo has some funny ideas, so i think it needs changing.

Hey just to see whos in, say if you sign up and which league. I played head to head Yahoo last year with very few change in the points system.

I joined the head to head system and am ranking my players in case I can't make the draft. After that, I'll join the points league, but if anyone wants a spot I'll drop the points league.

Okay I'm going to sign up right now. I didn't look at the settings or anything yet, but I have a few suggestions.

For the points, last year's wasn't too bad, but there were a few things that screwed it up a bit. IMO QBs shouldn't get points for completions, that makes their totals too high. And while I don't dislike the way we did this last year, I think it would probably be better to have players select a team defense, rather than individual players. I only say this because I know we have a lot of newer players, and most people generally don't know who the best cornerbacks and linebackers etc are in the league. So I guess it evens the playing field out a bit. I wouldn't really be angry if it stayed like it was last year though, so no biggy.

I think other than that, the points should be fine. Maybe make it more like the default Yahoo one (6 pts for a TD, 25 yards / pt for receiving, 10 yards / pt for rushing, 50 yards / pt for throwing), but that is just being nitpicky. Whatever you wanna do, that's fine. These are just suggestions.

Oh and for the record, I signed up to both leagues. If that's a problem to anyone, I'll drop out if you need room or anything.

While picking defense people is harder, I still enjoyed doing it. Again just another opinion.

quite a few, some of us like playing Fantasy.

I did that it one of my leagues I commished last season and the people there liked that, but if enough people who sign up for the league wants one or the other, I'll do so.

BTW, I only have my league because I like getting drunk on the power I have.

The points league is pretty simple to follow. Instead of your points being weekly they are based on season totals. So in head to head you might lose 28-31 and be pegged with a loss whilst someone else might win 10-7. In the points league your placing is decided by how many points you get rather than how many games you win.

I'll use the same scoring for both leagues and the same cats. You can only have 15 scoring cats and a maximum roster size of 25.

Point taken about the completions. last year we awarded .25 per completion.

Trades and whatnot, I reckon that we are all adults and if you make a stupid trade then its your own fault.

Deacon Batistas is Ant. I think he's using the same name in both leagues, but I'm not totally sure.


And about the trades... yeah it's annoying how every year it happens. I guess we'll just have to hope everyone's matured a bit and we'll all try and keep things even.

I'll also make a Survival league. Basically, that's where you start at week one by picking ONE team that will win their game that week. If you're right, you move on. However, once you pick a team to win their game, you can't pick the same team again for the rest of the year.
