NFL Week 16

Yes. Packers vs. Vikings right now.

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 05:26 PM

lol everytime minnesota touches the ball they score... 2 touchdown drives in 41 seconds.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 05:27 PM

We are clearly the better team, now our defense just needs to stop a third down

Ugh! We get that sweet score with a minute left, then we let them return it to our 40 and get a FG.

At least Michael Bennett is the man again

Dazz 12-24-2004 05:27 PM

Cartainly makes a difference from the first quarter, that was bloody boring.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 05:27 PM

Oh, also Nate Burleson

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 05:29 PM

Culpepper 7/9 180 yards 3 touchdowns

The Outlaw 12-24-2004 05:31 PM

Yeah he is quick

Whats up with Tice having a hissy fit over the measurement? I even thought it was a first at first

BCWWF 12-24-2004 05:34 PM

I'm not really complaining, but the issue was that they stopped the clock and GB had time to put their field goal unit on the field (They couldn't spike it because it may have been 4d). I dunno, it was close enough that a measurement was legit IMO, and we are ahead and getting the ball back.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 05:45 PM

Payton Manning
Tom Brady
Daunte Culpepper
Michael Vick

If I said that those four quarterbacks were on a different level then all of the other NFL QB's, would you disagree? Who would you add/subtract?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-24-2004 05:51 PM

What about McNabb?

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 05:51 PM

take off brady and add McNabb

Are we talking pure physical or ability to win?

If it's ability to win, sorry... Manning has yet to win a really big game yet, at least McNabb has made the NFC title game a few times.

if you go by that theory VEL only Brady would be on the list :p

I left McNabb off that list just because overall he is not as good as the others, IMO

no actually the way I took he was talking is that he was talking about QB's who lead there team where as new england has the all around best team :p Manning,Culpepper,Vick easily the top 3 players on there team where as new england has about 5 guys who could be a top guy :p

If you're just going on physical tools he's possible #2 in the league.

He has a great arm, good accuracy and is mobile.

Vick is mobile, great arm, poor accuracy.

Mainning great arm, good accuracy, not mobile.

Brady good arm, great accuracy, not mobile.

Culpepper great arm, great accuracy and while not as mobile as Vick or McNabb has speed and is a physical force to take down.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-24-2004 06:00 PM

You can't really compare these guys or say what level they are all on. They are all completely different.

Vick is crazy with his feet, really exciting player who is leading the Falcons right now. Remember how bad they were without him? He is so much different from any other QB in the NFL right now. Culpepper is a great QB, puts up huge stats but he has yet do anything in a big game. Manning is gross, and all he has left to prove is winning the Superbowl. McNabb is a great QB, he led the Eagles to 3 straight NFC championship games. Granted they lost them all, its not his fault. He can't throw the ball then catch it himself. Look at him when he actaully has a good reciever to throw too..its lights out. Brady obviously just wins, I know he's surrouned by a good team blah blah but so isn't everyone else. 4th Quater drive in the snow, aswell as both Superbowls. Shit is just ridiculous. Remember that Dolphins games..he had one bad game and didnt lead a 4th quater drive to win the game and everyone was shocked. That just shows you right there hes the fucking man

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 06:01 PM

that's exactally what I meant, I just didn't wanna write a story :p

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-24-2004 06:04 PM

I don't think so, New England wouldn't have won the Superbowl without Brady.

That "Hes surrounded by a good team" thing is stupid if you ask me. Everyone one of those guys has a good team around them. Name me another "top guy" on New England on offense other then Brady? I'm talking about the Superbowl years here.

VonErich Lives 12-24-2004 06:07 PM

Brady has the skills they can't measure.

You can test speed, strength, accuracy.

Brady is good under pressure and a smart QB.

Unlike a Bledsoe, who phsyically has a better arm then Brady ever will, but not the same decisions making.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 06:40 PM

Is it just me, or does every running play by Green Bay look like a HB pass?

BCWWF 12-24-2004 06:58 PM

OMG the Vikings are going to lose, I can just smell it

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:00 PM

OUR DEFENSE IS SO INCREDIBLY BAD WE DO NOT DESERVE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:03 PM

BLOCK THAT KICK...BLOCK THAT KICK

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:03 PM

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 07:04 PM

Vikings have the worst defense ever

I dunno, Manning-Harrison-James. Culppeper-Moss, Vick... ok, Vick is clearly #1 on his team.

The Outlaw 12-24-2004 07:08 PM

:love::love::love:

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:10 PM

OK I know I have a bias, but really do you not agree that the Vikings played the better game and that if each team had legit defenses the Vikes would have won? Not trying to make excuses, just explaining why this loss is so disappointing for us.

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 07:11 PM

yes that's about 3 or 4 games this season alone that the vikings defense has failed. They suck if they had a decent defense they would have won that game and easily the indy game.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:12 PM

Like honestly, the Packers got a lot of catches and extra yards that I would consider "lucky" and that I don't believe they would have gotton against a somewhat decent defense. At the same time, maybe the Vikings got really lucky too and I just didn't see it because I didn't want to.

The Outlaw 12-24-2004 07:12 PM

Hey Green Bay's defense isn't exactly The Steel Curtain or anything.

BCWWF 12-24-2004 07:14 PM

Along with what Cheeba said, at the time of the Indy game they also lost at least one more game on a final field goal (it might have been the Packers). If the defense was even somewhat legit you could add at least 2-3 wins this season. There are like 6 first rounders on our defense, but it just isn't working. They need to add another good player or two in the off season, Winfield proved to be unbelievably important. Get a good MLB now.

The Outlaw 12-24-2004 07:16 PM

Yeah we won 34-31 both games this year on a field goal

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 07:19 PM

not to mention everyone is saying Hovan is gone after this season which kinda sucks.

#1-norm-fan 12-24-2004 07:43 PM

lol. Minnesota's defense played better than Green Bay's defense.

I like Minnesota, I just love it when they choke after BCWWF and Alphabean are so adimate at the begining of the year that there is no chance they don't win the division.

MoRcHeEbA 12-24-2004 07:49 PM

you also said the bears were gonna make the superbowl

BCWWF 12-24-2004 08:45 PM

They should have won the division, even with Moss' injury they should have won. Nobody could have predicted the defense to be so poor. The linebackers couldn't get their jobs done and the secondary was just awful aswell. Not to mention Chris Hovan falling off the face of the earth, hardly any picks. I never would have predicted that, I assumed that with Kenechi and Antoine added to the defense they would be at least respectable. We need to trade Onterio Smith for defense ASAP.

I do stand though, as soon as Favre leaves the Packers sit in the cellar for a few years. He is holding them up almost singlehandedly.

The Outlaw 12-24-2004 09:14 PM

I don't really see how you say we got lucky because your defense is so piss poor. Did you see our "tackling" job?

Barnett might be the worst tackler in the game.

The Icon of Elisim 12-24-2004 09:28 PM

Well of course the Packers will be bad when Favre retires but by then the Bears will be great and the Vikings will still finish second in the North

By the way, while the NFC North has been officially won leaving Minnesota with no chance of winning it, Chicago... still alive in the playoff hunt.

HOLD YOUR HORSES, PEOPLE!

MoRcHeEbA 12-25-2004 06:13 AM

St.Louis OR New Orleans lose this week vikings clinch :p and even if they don't this week they will next :p

God I really hope the shitty Saints don't make it in instead of the Panthers.

MoRcHeEbA 12-25-2004 06:46 AM

yeah the saints are terrible, I feel bad though cause the falcons are like gonna give them a win this week pretty much :(

and an OLB and an ILB :(

Chavous and Russell didn't play as awesome as they did last year I don't think :-\

I don't really know the D-line that well but they look ok, and I thought the secondary was awesome but I dunno, the linebackers are terrible though

BCWWF 12-25-2004 05:10 PM

The secondary should have been awesome, Chavous and Russell has so many INT's last season and then they added Winfield this season, but it didn't work as well as it should have.

The d-line is the only unit on the defense that was good this season. Hovan was a dissapointment for whatever reasons, but Kevin Williams and Kenechi Udezi are both really good and Mixon and Johnstone and the DT who took Hovans place all did well.

Y2Ant 12-25-2004 05:51 PM

Who were the starters on the defense at the start of the year, I dunno which guys lost their places :$

BCWWF 12-25-2004 05:58 PM

Hovan lost his starting job, Dontarious Thomas and EJ Henderson started at LB, don't know if they are still there. Ken Irvin was supposed to be a starting CB aswell.

Rain Man 12-26-2004 03:19 PM

Another close game for the Steelers. Every week it seems like they have a close game.

Rain Man 12-26-2004 03:22 PM

Chargers are up on the Colts at half. Chargers=Panthers of last year?

The Icon of Elisim 12-26-2004 04:08 PM

Manning just got 48 on a shuffel pass to Edge.

Chargers are looking really good though

The Icon of Elisim 12-26-2004 04:09 PM

Big Ben has been knocked out of the game, fuck

There was another Auburn rookie DT on our defense who was pretty good actually. Dontarious will be good I think, but he was just one of too many inexperienced guys on our defense this year. There were too many rookies and they missed their assignments too often.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-26-2004 09:51 PM

Bengals game was great today. After they scored the winning TD everyone started throwing snow around like confetti. I know its been done before but I wasn't at those games so shut up

Evil Vito 12-27-2004 12:36 AM

Fucking Giants. :(

Christ, they hold them to 4th and 10 and THEN decide to give it up. :| They shoulda called a trimeout or something to give their D a breather. I hate to say it, but I KNEW the Giants would fuck it up after the Bengals converted on 4th and 10.

Meh, if they had gotten it back in FG range they probably would have missed, because Christie was 5-for-5 and due for a miss.

Blah, I hope they can just pull out a win next week against Dallas to wrap up this disappointing season. The more I think about it, the more I think they shoulda stuck with Warner as their starter, but ah well, getting Eli the experience seemed to be their main concern after the 2nd Eagles game. :-\

Oh well, there's always next season.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-27-2004 12:40 AM

Nah, Eli will be good for years to come. Warner doesn't have much left. It's not like Warner was taking the Giants to the Superbowl anyways.

lol, yeah, come on, DRAFT PICKS

The Icon of Elisim 12-27-2004 03:43 AM

Well the Giants could have made the playoffs had they stuck with Warner but getting Eli the experience has been pretty big. He has looked pretty good the last two games and the team just blew it in the final minutes. That'll carry over to next year.

Too bad the Giants don't have a first rounder this year to grab a WR like Mike Williams for him.

Triple A 12-27-2004 03:45 AM

Yeah, I am glad they put Eli in. He will be good next year and their defense will hopefully be healthy again to give him some help.

VonErich Lives 12-27-2004 04:21 AM

plus he'll have a full offseason to understand the offense. Putting Eli in was the right move.

Evil Vito 12-27-2004 10:37 AM

Yeah, I'm not saying that putting Eli in was the wrong move for the future, but the wrong one for the present time.

Ah well, as you all said, Eli will get better and better as time goes on. Hopefully there's still a decent WR left in the 2nd round of the next draft.

Y2Ant 12-27-2004 11:57 AM

Yeah what is up with Hasselbeck's lack of hair

BCWWF 12-27-2004 03:46 PM

I don't think anyone wrote him off.

There are 2 issues.

1) Giants fans wonder if they left Warner in, if they'd have made the playoffs this year.

2) Was it a wise move giving up 2 #1's to get him when Rothlisberger went later and you knew SD had to deal him because he wouldn't go there.

BCWWF 12-27-2004 07:32 PM

I think a lot of people have written him off already

1. It doesn't matter if they did because with the talent on their team they would probably have lost in the wildcard round and then have no headstart on next season, when they will have a better chance to go deep.

2. You can't second guess a team for taking Eli over Big Ben, because Eli was clearly a higher rated QB at the time and nobody could have guessed Big Bens success. That being said, Pittsburghs success isn't lying on their quarterback, he is just one small part in it. If he was put in the same situation as Eli I doubt he would be doing the same thing he is in Pittsburgh. Thats just my opinions though.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-27-2004 07:35 PM

Yea they gave up way too much for Manning IMO...well maybe not, but I don't know..was he really that much better then Rivers??

BCWWF 12-27-2004 07:37 PM

I think part of it goes to the fact that Eli is a Manning and in New York they wan't stars. To be totally honest, I didn't know who Rivers was until he was involved in that trade, but everybody in the US who followed football knew Manning and his expectations.

Anyone who has written him off doesn't know their ass from their elbow. It's too early to decide. Don't forget Pennington didn't start for 2yrs. So, it's not always a bad thing to let someone sit/learn.

I agree, I don't think w/ Warner they'd have made the playoffs and if they did it would be WC and not gone far.

I also agree you can't 2nd guess on Big ben, but you can question the logic in giving up that much for a guy that you know a team has to deal. Eli refused to play for SD, I wonder who else was in the bidding that caused the Giants to give up two 1st round picks, the talk around draft day is no one and the Giants out bid themselves. Eli cost the Giants this years first (which is fine) but also, this years 3rd and next years 1st and 5th. Seems like a lot for a guy that SD had to trade.

Exactly :y:

Loose Cannon 12-27-2004 07:51 PM

yeah, he had way way way to much preassure and expectations put on him. The media made him seem like some sort of unstoppable force that was going to come in and throw 20 touchdown passes in a row. That's the NY media for you. And when guys do preform well, they get criticized because they weren't perfect. Look at A-Rod last year. He did good for his first year in NY, but oh wait, he didn't bat .340 or hit 40 homers, so he had a bad year. :nono:

North Carolina State...I am pretty sure he was a 4 year starter there.
