Raw Superstar Asks for Release

Ah well.. No Major Loss their.

WWE would complain so he'll probably be called "The Eraser", to take a shot at Test. :shifty:

Jesus Christ. These guys want everything handed to them the second they walk in the door these days. Tomko has only been appearing on air for about two years.
|
LOL. They're dumb enough to sign him too.

And no, I don't, nor did I consider Heat/Velocity "WWE TV". |
Tomko was busting up nobodies on Heat for a few months, and Rene Dupree was saying something about wanting to form a tag team with him, but I guess that whole idea got tossed in the bin with "who was driving the Hummer?".

It's hard for them not to expect something big after a few years when you see guys coming in and getting huge pushes immediately.

It's ridiculous. Booker T, Triple H, Benoit, Jericho, Taker, Kane, Show, Batista (though it's not really realized), JBL, and even Rey Mysterio put years into the business before they made it to the top. What if any of them decided that if they weren't pushed to the moon after two years, that was it? |

Now I'm not gonna pull any of that "paying your dues" crap, because I really don't buy it. But when you see other newbies running up the ladder, you have to get pissed that you're not as well. Especially when they push so many green and dangerous "superstars." |

Tyson Tomko got into pro wrestling in 1999. He wrestled on the Florida Indie circut before getting signed to a development deal and sent to OVW in 2002. He was then brought up on RAW in 2003. That's three years on the indie scene and 3 years on RAW, and what does he have to show for it? Nothing. He was Christian/Trish Stratus' bitch for a while. That's his career highlight. Now Tomko is a good talent. You wouldn't know it but he is above average on the mic, he is one of the better big men I have ever seen. He has talent and skill and above all he has a potential for a great future. And hell yeah, I would be pissed too to be told that they were going to push me in a tag team with someone who then gets thrown in a random bullshit other team just because the talentless Rhodes needs someone to tag with, and oh yeah he happens to be one of the writer's son. Tomko was supposed to continue with the Problem Solver, WWE droped the ball, WWE then did nothing with him, again dropping the ball, then he was supposed to be in a tag team with Snitsky (we all agree that could have helped the division more then seeing Goldust and Snitsky together) and once again WWE drops the ball. He wants to walk? I say good for him. He wasn't earning a shit load. According to the posted 2005 Wrestler Salaries (if you believe those are correct) he earned $127,000. That's not a whole lot. He could go on the indie scene, build up a rep, or maybe just show up in TNA, work only 3 nights a month, and then go make use of his college degree in a real job. |
Q: What's the difference between Tyson Tomko and Christopher Daniels?
A: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/ty.../tomko_pre.jpg Absolutely nothing. |

Kendrick asked for his release because he wanted to go on tour in Japan...he has said that his time over there was the best part of his career. He then came back and had a nice stay in RoH before being offered another contract by WWE...he earned more money in Japan, had a better time, and while it was only a temporary thing, bettered his career for it. Instead of being Spanky he is now known as Brian Kendrick and is in a very interesting Tag Team with Paul London...seems to have worked out better for him in the long run. Again, bad example.

The highlight of Tomko's career:
Christian: "Give me a beat" Tomko: "No." |

What's the last memorable thing Kendrick's done? |
That interview on WWE.com sheds an entirely new light on this. Tomko's going to go over to Japan and improve until the WWE are forced to take note of his abilities and use him in a more prominent role. You can't fault the guy for being ambitious.
I like Tomko, he is above average in the ring, and he's a fine talker. The guy was a seven-time OVW Southern Tag Team Champion, so he must have done something to impress Jim Cornette. Tomko's something like 29 or 30 now, so he's still got a future ahead of him. It's good to see him want to use his early years to improve and come back with a lot more going for him. |

You still haven't answered me. What's the last thing you remember Kendrick for? |

Pepsi Man...regardless of the recent past, you asked where is he now, and is currently part of the Tag Team which is fueding with the best Tag Team WWE currently has...MNM.
Oh and by the way, in the 13 episodes of SmackDown thus far already aired in 2006...Brian Kendrick has had a match on 5 of those episodes...more then current SmackDown Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms. Before you point out that Gregory hasn't been a part of the SmackDown roster all year, and he has been injured recently...the point still stands, he has been on television more then Gregory Helms has, and yet even the most casual fan knows that Helms is the Cruiser Champ, so it would stand to reason that even the most casual fan would know Kendrick is a part of the roster; now you could make the argument that most casual fans don't know Kendrick was Spanky...but really how would his history as Spanky really help him. My original point was that Kendrick has a better career now, after having walked out of his original WWE contract to go to Japan for a bit then he did being Spanky...he is currently fueding with the Tag Team Champions and it stands to reason to assume he will one day hold the straps with London (as their tag team is quite popular)...as Spanky he was going to be nothing more then a Cruiser Jobber, now he has a chance to be a Champ... So please, make an argument that his choice was a death sentence and therefore Tyson Tomko's choice to go to Japan is one as well. Becuase as it stands right now, I don't see any reason to make that conclusion. |
He said PRIMARILY on Velocity. GOD, you idiot. Why don't you fucking get it!

I still don't see where Kendrick has such a better career now. At best, he'll win the Tag Team Title, something London did shortly after Kendrick was released. And, if my memory serves me correctly, prior to Kendrick's WWE departure, he and London were tag team partners. I never said it was a death sentence, I just don't see where it advanced him...at all. Having read Tomko's interview, where he goes on to talk about working in Japan and all is a bit different from the initial report. I still don't see where it's a foregone conclusion that if he were to come back to the WWE in a year or two or three that he'd be any better off. |
My original point...Tomko's choice to leave WWE instead of being a jobber working on Heat had my support...
