Sid Vicious Interested In Returning To WWE

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

For whatever it's worth, former WWE Champion 'Sycho' Sid Vicious has his body looking in shape and he is trying to get another run in World Wrestling Entertainment. He is 46 years old now. No word yet if WWE is interested in bringing him back or not.

Sid had a match at an indy show back in March. A person who witnessed it said that it was actually pretty decent. He was also in pretty much the same shape people last saw him in when he was in WCW. At the Wrestling Reunion convention last weekend, he got the second biggest ovation from fans when he entered the room behind Kurt Angle.

Believe it or not, but WWE was actually interested in using Sid in a match at WrestleMania 22. But for whatever reason, it just didn't work out. They were also interested in interviewing him for the Four Horsemen DVD, but Sid didn't do it for one reason or another. Furthermore, a few years ago, former announcer/producer Kevin Kelly wanted to do a piece on him for WWE Confidential. They wanted him to do an interview with him with the focus being on the gruesome injury he suffered in 2001 when his left leg snapped in half after he jumped from the middle turnbuckle. By all accounts, he seems to have completely recovered from the injury as he's wrestled in several matches since then. Anyways, the reason he didn't do the interview is because he had given thought to a possible comeback in WWE and he didn't want to look weak in front of the fans. If and when he returned to WWE, he wanted it to be a surprise.

It wouldn't be out of the realm for WWE to bring Sid back because they've brought back people just as old as him in recent years. They were using Tatanka up until last January and he was 45 years old (he actually turned 46 years old yesterday). Hacksaw Jim Duggan is even older than him as he is 53 years old, and he is a member of the main WWE roster no less. Brad Armstrong worked a few ECW house shows last year, and he was the ripe old age of 45. Marty Jannetty received a contract last year (but was dropped within two weeks), and he was 44 years old.

Sounds like it could happen, but wonder if people will acually mind it if he did come back...or if anyone would really care.

Ben Rodrigues 06-17-2007 05:33 AM

He would probably wind up the comical side kick of Eugene or something.

Jura 06-17-2007 05:41 AM

Sid in a being funny and succeeding would be pretty entertaining. I think it's the way to go.

Ben Rodrigues 06-17-2007 05:56 AM

Imagine Goldust and Booker T... Only nowhere near as good.

DRBailey 06-17-2007 07:14 AM

Sid? Returning? ECW could use him, didn't he have a run there before? But if he was on RAW, no way...

Rammsteinmad 06-17-2007 07:25 AM

I'd kinda welcome seeing Sid again, but it didn't happen I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I guess they'll bring him in as another unstopable monster for Cena to defeat.

FourFifty 06-17-2007 08:13 AM

Sid returning? That's the shit.

Xero 06-17-2007 10:32 AM

Holy shit!

James Steele 06-17-2007 10:32 AM

I could see him coming back for a one-off fued against Cena, and then getting some backstage job.

Impact! 06-17-2007 10:39 AM

Diesel Mac probably needs new pants now

Janitor/"In charge of shit control"?

Hanso Amore 06-17-2007 10:44 AM

If they coudl just use him in a short run it could be great. Have him come in as a Hired Gun against someone (Probably Cena) and let him steam roll powerbombing the shit out of people for a few weeks, end with a blowoff match and maybe put over a younger guy.

Sid has possibly the best powerbomb ever. He can lay it down and make it look good, why not use his name to get over a young guy, maybe in ECW (Hired by Burke to take out Punk or something along those lines)

The Ravishing One 06-17-2007 11:01 AM

I like the idea of him coming back, with the recent injuries to alot of main eventers i could see it happening. I wouldn't mind seeing him in ECW working with the new guys.

KingofOldSchool 06-17-2007 11:12 AM

I could see Sid coming in and powerbombing Cena and then leaving.

Kane Knight 06-17-2007 11:12 AM

He's always had a dream to be the first man to shit all over a tribranded PPV.

Rammsteinmad 06-17-2007 11:23 AM

It would be so hilarius if he was booked in a fued with Cena or summit, and Cena was cutting a promo and took the piss out of the "half the brain that you do" comment.

Mr. JL 06-17-2007 11:35 AM

I'd tune in to see Sid one last time...

Jordan 06-17-2007 01:03 PM

I say bring him back!

Corkscrewed 06-17-2007 01:07 PM

He'll come back as Sid Snitsky, Gene's equally crazy dad, who will claim that it wasn't his fault that he knocked up his sister, who then had Gene. :shifty:

IC Champion 06-17-2007 01:13 PM

Sid was awesome in ECW, though I've never really cared for him, I did find interviews to be pretty funny sometimes.

But whats the sense in bringing him back, have SuperCena start beating monsters of wrestling passed, WWE wouldnt consider it if they wouldnt hurting for talent and star power, though Ive never seen either in Sid, but its WWE.

Jordan 06-17-2007 03:03 PM

He was in the main event of WM 8 and 13, that says something.

weather vane 06-17-2007 03:11 PM

I think it would be good for WWE right now. He can be pushed as an unstoppable monster who doesn't look like a huge dink (Khali).

chrisat928 06-17-2007 03:48 PM

As long as he stays off the top rope, fine.

darkpower 06-17-2007 04:34 PM

Hmm...since SmackDown got fucked in the draft, I would say they could try to give Sid some challenge for Edge.

311 06-17-2007 04:55 PM

As long as he shits himself and Ron Simmons says...

DAMN!

Actually its the middle rope that he should avoid.

jindrak 06-17-2007 06:17 PM

I'd mark out if he came to either Raw, Smackdown, or ECW. Not that I'm a Sid mark, but it will be refreshing to see him after being gone so long.

D Mac 06-17-2007 06:22 PM

FUCK YEAH

He will powerbomb the shit out of Edge and Batista.

Wait... :shifty:

D Mac 06-17-2007 06:23 PM

And he keeps his Sycho music. :y:

weather vane 06-17-2007 06:27 PM

I wouldn't mind the WWE bringing back one or two old stars that can still go. I am sure Sid can still wrestle just as good as he used to. Not that it's saying much but he was never about his wrestling ability.

Somebody else along those lines would be great too. Guys like Jericho, Goldberg, Hall, Nash, DDP, Savage ... something to create a buzz

PepperCarrotMan 06-17-2007 06:58 PM

DDP again would be AWESOME.

Ben Rodrigues 06-17-2007 07:24 PM

Not Positively Page though. Bring back WCW 98 DDP.

To be perfectly honest, when I thought of Sid returning, I thought of Eugene, too. :-\

I'm not the guy's biggest fan or anything, but Sid really was a guilty pleasure of sports entertainment's past. If he were to come back, I probably wouldn't mind it as much as I would Hulk Hogan coming back, or something. I can actually see it happening, too, as the WWE are really low on talent at the moment.

Have him return on RAW, and Powerbomb Cena. Then when JR and King are done shitting themselves, and Todd Grisham or Maria is like "Are you back on RAW?" he can go "Well, I'm back in the WWE, but I'm not on RAW. I'm on SmackDown!," and then if he wants to be funny, he can add something about starting that over again. Then have him feud with Edge over the World Heavyweight Championship in a battle of the angry "psychotics."

Can Diamond Dallas Page still go? If he can, I would mark the fuck out if they brought him back in some role. The WWE handled his stint there so poorly. His appearance as the limo driver at WrestleMania VI (I think that was the one) was arguably better.

It'd be interesting to see the reaction if he made a suprise entrance. He's quite possibly the most forgettable, or at least most forgotten, WWE champ since the modern era (post Hulkamania).

I honestly doubt he'd get popped. We'd all mark out a bit, but the fans would be like "who?"

In 2002, Ric Flair got barely any pop for his suprise return in his hometown. And thats 2002, it's much worse now. It's also Ric fuckin Flair.
I supsect if Sid comes back unannounced there'll be about 40 people inthe crowd who pop.

94 SVT Cobra 06-18-2007 03:56 PM

Isnt any body else tired of his shit?

94 SVT Cobra 06-18-2007 03:58 PM

Seriously, he needs to know when to stop with this shit

94 SVT Cobra 06-18-2007 04:00 PM

but then again, when it comes tiem for him to be in a major event like WM and working with the undertaker, sometimes he just cant keep his shit together

94 SVT Cobra 06-18-2007 04:01 PM

I mean did you see WM 13? that shit was ridiculous

94 SVT Cobra 06-18-2007 04:02 PM

I would LOVE to see him come back after Randy Orton just cut a "Legend Killer" promo at the top of the ramp and hit him with a Diamond Cutter during his little pose. Then have DDP tear off through the crowd.

DDP could just keep appearing randomly to Diamond Cut Orton through the course of the next few months. Build an Orton vs. DDP match at Summer Slam.

The Optimist 06-18-2007 09:00 PM

First off, Rofl @ all of Cobra's comment.

Second, how and why would he do this ever? I'm sure he's out of money by now but he can't be in shape for this and I doubt that his crazy broken-leg would hold up.

Done.

"Sid went on to lose the title to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13. During the match, Sid defecated in his pants. The Undertaker confirmed this in an Off the Record interview."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sycho_Sid

Now that it's on Wikipedia it's 100% true.

He should go to ECW and in ECW Rules matches hit people with a squeege (or was it an ice scraper?)

Hahahaha holy shit, I remember now. I think I have that on tape somewhere. That alone makes me want Sid back. Mainly because Sid Powerbomb > Kevin Nash Powerbomb

Actually, Rey Mysterio Powerbomb > Kevin Nash Powerbomb.

Anyways, from what I did see of him in the last years of WCW he made for good entertainment, I mean, who else could fake a leg injury like that?
