Sid Vicious Interested In Returning To WWE
source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
For whatever it's worth, former WWE Champion 'Sycho' Sid Vicious has his body looking in shape and he is trying to get another run in World Wrestling Entertainment. He is 46 years old now. No word yet if WWE is interested in bringing him back or not. Sid had a match at an indy show back in March. A person who witnessed it said that it was actually pretty decent. He was also in pretty much the same shape people last saw him in when he was in WCW. At the Wrestling Reunion convention last weekend, he got the second biggest ovation from fans when he entered the room behind Kurt Angle. Believe it or not, but WWE was actually interested in using Sid in a match at WrestleMania 22. But for whatever reason, it just didn't work out. They were also interested in interviewing him for the Four Horsemen DVD, but Sid didn't do it for one reason or another. Furthermore, a few years ago, former announcer/producer Kevin Kelly wanted to do a piece on him for WWE Confidential. They wanted him to do an interview with him with the focus being on the gruesome injury he suffered in 2001 when his left leg snapped in half after he jumped from the middle turnbuckle. By all accounts, he seems to have completely recovered from the injury as he's wrestled in several matches since then. Anyways, the reason he didn't do the interview is because he had given thought to a possible comeback in WWE and he didn't want to look weak in front of the fans. If and when he returned to WWE, he wanted it to be a surprise. It wouldn't be out of the realm for WWE to bring Sid back because they've brought back people just as old as him in recent years. They were using Tatanka up until last January and he was 45 years old (he actually turned 46 years old yesterday). Hacksaw Jim Duggan is even older than him as he is 53 years old, and he is a member of the main WWE roster no less. Brad Armstrong worked a few ECW house shows last year, and he was the ripe old age of 45. Marty Jannetty received a contract last year (but was dropped within two weeks), and he was 44 years old. _________________________________________________ Sounds like it could happen, but wonder if people will acually mind it if he did come back...or if anyone would really care. ![]() Last edited by darkpower; 06-17-2007 at 05:20 AM. |

He would probably wind up the comical side kick of Eugene or something.

Sid? Returning? ECW could use him, didn't he have a run there before? But if he was on RAW, no way...

I'd kinda welcome seeing Sid again, but it didn't happen I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
I guess they'll bring him in as another unstopable monster for Cena to defeat. |

If they coudl just use him in a short run it could be great. Have him come in as a Hired Gun against someone (Probably Cena) and let him steam roll powerbombing the shit out of people for a few weeks, end with a blowoff match and maybe put over a younger guy.
Sid has possibly the best powerbomb ever. He can lay it down and make it look good, why not use his name to get over a young guy, maybe in ECW (Hired by Burke to take out Punk or something along those lines) |

I like the idea of him coming back, with the recent injuries to alot of main eventers i could see it happening. I wouldn't mind seeing him in ECW working with the new guys.

It would be so hilarius if he was booked in a fued with Cena or summit, and Cena was cutting a promo and took the piss out of the "half the brain that you do" comment.

He'll come back as Sid Snitsky, Gene's equally crazy dad, who will claim that it wasn't his fault that he knocked up his sister, who then had Gene.

Sid was awesome in ECW, though I've never really cared for him, I did find interviews to be pretty funny sometimes.
But whats the sense in bringing him back, have SuperCena start beating monsters of wrestling passed, WWE wouldnt consider it if they wouldnt hurting for talent and star power, though Ive never seen either in Sid, but its WWE. |

I think it would be good for WWE right now. He can be pushed as an unstoppable monster who doesn't look like a huge dink (Khali).

Hmm...since SmackDown got fucked in the draft, I would say they could try to give Sid some challenge for Edge.

I'd mark out if he came to either Raw, Smackdown, or ECW. Not that I'm a Sid mark, but it will be refreshing to see him after being gone so long.

I wouldn't mind the WWE bringing back one or two old stars that can still go. I am sure Sid can still wrestle just as good as he used to. Not that it's saying much but he was never about his wrestling ability.
Somebody else along those lines would be great too. Guys like Jericho, Goldberg, Hall, Nash, DDP, Savage ... something to create a buzz |

I'm not the guy's biggest fan or anything, but Sid really was a guilty pleasure of sports entertainment's past. If he were to come back, I probably wouldn't mind it as much as I would Hulk Hogan coming back, or something. I can actually see it happening, too, as the WWE are really low on talent at the moment. Have him return on RAW, and Powerbomb Cena. Then when JR and King are done shitting themselves, and Todd Grisham or Maria is like "Are you back on RAW?" he can go "Well, I'm back in the WWE, but I'm not on RAW. I'm on SmackDown!," and then if he wants to be funny, he can add something about starting that over again. Then have him feud with Edge over the World Heavyweight Championship in a battle of the angry "psychotics." |

It'd be interesting to see the reaction if he made a suprise entrance. He's quite possibly the most forgettable, or at least most forgotten, WWE champ since the modern era (post Hulkamania).
I honestly doubt he'd get popped. We'd all mark out a bit, but the fans would be like "who?" In 2002, Ric Flair got barely any pop for his suprise return in his hometown. And thats 2002, it's much worse now. It's also Ric fuckin Flair. I supsect if Sid comes back unannounced there'll be about 40 people inthe crowd who pop. |
