Lance Storm sent the following in to Wrestling Observer:

Just listening to WOR and have to say this.

I think Ken Anderson has been so GOD AWFUL on promos it's a channel changer for me.

His promo last week with angle actually made me turn the show off after Angle's awesome promo, and this week he talked forever in his first promo and I could not have possibly cared less.

He is doing the flippant Too Cool for School goof ball character, which in my opinion is the worst possible character. He makes light of absolutely everything as if it doesn't matter than ultimately it ends up not mattering.

Last week after Kurt was so hot at him for spitting on the USA and Dead Soldiers, Anderson came out with this goofy who cares flippant personality. HOW does that draw money? He treated it like a joke and thus it became one.

This week his promo with Christy went on forever and I ended up not having a clue what he was talking about, but when you go back and look he actually talked about laying out Kurt, spitting on America and going after a title tonight (TWO MAJOR ISSUES) yet finished off flippantly talking about fighting gorillas to the point we forgot his issue with Kurt and his title match with Rob. Almost a textbook example of a BAD promo.

Then they bury the Kurt program even deeper by having Anderson cut another fucking promo while Kurt stands behind him for over a minute with a chair. If Kurt gave a flying fuck about Anderson laying him out or spitting on America why didn't he hit him right away rather than waiting for a minute for the comedy pop of watching Kurt stand behind him while Anderson was unaware.

This show was horrible and Anderson's character and promo work are ATROCIOUS. Yes he talks well but he buries the entire program with the way in which his talks and carries himself. He is my least favourite character on the show and that covers a lot of ground because this entire show SUCKS.

Also I can't believe no one pointed out that Anderson was KILLED by one chair shot (yes Bryan pointed this out) BUT Abyss was hit with 3 or 4 and was still on his feet later in the show. I could book a better show with a WEEGEE board.

I want to like Anderson since we're from the same town but he doesn't always do it for me. He's got confidence when he cuts a promo but they just really don't go anywhere. He seems like he's trying to play a sort of Rock-esque cocky heel but it doesn't work.

Too many people around here ride Lance Storm's dick. I'm not even saying that he's wrong about anything he's saying here (I didn't even watch it myself), but it's nothing amazing. He seems to bash the industry every time someone posts something about him here, but what's the last thing of note that he's done? What's anything of note that he did, really? He sort of comes off as a disgruntled has been at this point.

Just saying.

Lance Storm's rants are the third best thing to come out of TNA.

And it's a real tight third with Robert Roode and James Storm.

I love Lance Storm, but I don't think he's entirely right about Anderson. I think being an obnoxious twat is the whole point of Anderson's character -- including making jokes about getting a DQ win over six gorillas. Pretty sure the dude could be banging Christy Hemme if he wanted, too.

truthfully I never cared for Lance myself and his bashing of Anderson just makes me not care more(I may be bias here and people may hate me for it but in the end I will always have to side with Anderson............ Anderson)

I usually like reading Lance's rants, but this one was pretty silly to me (partly because I disagree). He really could have just said that he doesn't like Anderson in TNA.

Is he serious with this? Abyss, normally booked as a monster (still his damn nickname), should take a handful of chair shots before falling. It's expected that both of these will happen.

Not to mention he's just a guy who watches wrestling and likes to voice his opinion about it. I read his blogs from time to time and he says just as much positive stuff as he does negative.
He's retired and watches wrestling and posts what he thinks about it, and answers questions from fans.

What's any different about him giving his opinion on the product from any other fan doing it?
If his accomplishments in wrestling are a factor in how worthy his fan criticisms are, then what does that say about everyone on here?

What he's done in wrestling as far as promos are concerned, or "the last thing of note he's done" are all non-factors when it comes to how knowledgable he is as a viewer.

I think everyone in this thread should cut a promo and post the video on here so we can see it.

If you read the critique, he explains exactly what the issue is. He's not insulting Anderson's talking skills. He's criticizing content, not delivery.
This is obviously something he understands.

He doesn't have to be a great promo guy to have opinions anyways. But it's especially ridiculous to say he can't offer his opinion because of his own skills, since that's not what he's attacking at all.

this to me is insane. to say something like this you need to either a) have no clue what lance storm did b) beleive that if vince didnt say it it wasnt worth remembering it as awesome c) have a very limited and confused perspective on the industry or d) take bdc way too seriously.

What he did on the stick in ECW, and even WCW was much different than what he did in WWE, which was very limited.
No, he's not Flair or Foley. But that doesn't make him incompetent.

Even in WWE his whole "If I can be serious for a moment... Splendid" thing worked, and he obviously knew what he was doing with it.

Plus he did incredible things of note all the time in the ring. Last thing he did of note...probably his last match. And the one before that, and the one before that.

For those who only watch WWE and aren't familiar with his part-time work since retiring, his last mainstream WWE match was at ONS against Chris Jericho.
