Sandy Scott Passes Away :(

Sandy Scott, who is best known as part of The Flying Scott Brother tag-team, passed away early this morning at the age of 75.
Scott (whose real name was Angus Scott), died following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
Back in 1954, Scott paired up with his brother George and they teamed together until the early 1970's with Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. After that, he began working in the front office for Jim Crockett Promotions.
He later went on to work for a short time behind the scenes with World Championship Wrestling and then became one of the driving forces behind Smoky Mountain Wrestling during the 1980's.
In 2008, Scott was inducted into the NWA Wrestling Legends Hall of Heroes.

I met Sandy at the convention in 2008. Real nice guy. Genuinely happy to be there and meet everyone. He was SO knowledgeable about the business - having been involved in it in so many different aspects. He worked with just about everyone in the business from 1950's through the 1990's. SO many people have him to thank for a lot in their careers. God Bless.
This has been such a bad year for the business; Georgiann Makropoulos, Angelo Poffo, Jack Brisco, Ed Chuman and Ida Mae Martinez I can all recall thus far - aside from the suicide of Ludvig Borga. :( |
