PS3/PSN titles to gorge on?
 

So, my 360 RRODed. Thankfully, I've got GoW 3 to keep me occupied, but I have a short attention span and like to play multiple games.

I'm just looking for a couple titles to fill in my queue while I wait for my primary system to come back from repair. I have the original Uncharted, plan on getting the second, and otherwise have a couple PSN titles (Burn Zombie, Burn a shoot 'em up whose name I don't remember and maybe that's it).

I'm not interested in games I have for the 360, which means I'm mostly looking for stuff that's either PS3 or PSN exclusive. I won't touch a FPS, but most other genres I'm good with.

Any good titles I should be snagging?

You already plan on Uncharted 2, which I was going to suggest. Multiplayer is win. Wish I still had it, and hadn't just rented it. Would love to play some Plunder right now.

I'm not really sure about others actually, but I await replies from other people as I am interested in suggestions for PS3 games as well.

I played the demo of Uncharted 2 and I wasn't really into it, maybe it's the controllers or the way everything turns red when you get shot, but eh most people like it. I don't see much of the hype behind it besides the nice graphics. It isn't bad though, I'd just rather play other action games.

Demo doesn't do it justice, tbh. Way too short, and barely even touches on the cool things that happen constantly in the game. Worth a rent, easily.

Why not God of War 3?

Good place to start is the remastered GoW experience for the PS3. Cheaper too. :)

yeah, they're the reason I ordered GoW3 in the first place. Had a blast with Kratos in the first one, still haven't finished though. Or come close. It's one of the reasons I have a desire for different games right now, because while I have three relatively new games (Got GoW collection 2 weeks ago), they're all the same franchise, genre, gameplay.

I haven't played one in ages, but I don't hate them.

Just kinda been more focused on fake guitar games and action titles.

Should I pick up the God of War collection or Uncharted 2 first?

Have you played the first uncharted? It's not essential, but there are a few things you will appreciate more, having played the first.

No I have not. I'm still relatively new to PS3.

Haven't either, but it's only like $25 at a local trade-in store so I am definitely going to pick it up some time.

So what's a better starter game? GoW Collection or Uncharted?

You will get more gameplay value out of the GoW collection, and considering it is cheaper I would say that.

But Uncharted 2 is incredible also, and will offer you multiplayer.

You will get way more single player value out of GoW collection though.

Heavy Rain? I still want to play it but haven't got a chance to.

wtf dude, is there a way to check if a psn username is used like you can search for a gamertag on xbox.com. it's not letting me register sgand for some stupid reason, and how can anyone even think of using such a name. might just see is RoXer1 is available. :-\

the ratchet and clank games are pretty fun

Valkryia Chronicles is a pretty good game, it's kinda of a Turn Based Strategy but the way you take turns is Real Time, kinda hard to explain. It is however Anime Style so if that puts you off then maybe go for a rent but if you aren't bothered by that then it's a good game.

Suprised that no one has mentioned LittleBigPlanet as of yet, very cutesy art style, simplistic platform gameplay although some of the developer made levels are hard as all fuck and the community levels and the tools to make your own are incredible. It's definitely one to try out.

I'll give another mention to Uncharted 2 also one to Demon's Souls, it's hard as hell but fun, i'd probably give it a rent though to see how you find it.

Yeah, have heard awesome things about Demon's Souls, but also that it is one of the hardest and unforgiving games you'll play.

Yeah it's one of those ones that is very hard but it's also a lot of fun.

Then check out The Bigs 2. It's a lot of fun even if you're not a big baseball fan. And you can get it pretty cheap too.
