Ultimo Dragon leaving WWE?
I saw the news at another message. I can't corroborate this guy's source personally, so take it for what you will. Here's the post in its entirety.

Good, get him on TNA
|
I wouldn't be suprized, he was/is going nowhere in WWE.
|
That'd be a great move. :y:
|
Its a shame he didnt get his shot in the WWE
|
Oh dear, Let me shed a tear
|
Don't really want to start a regular thing here, but.
Isn't this just another case of WWE wasting talent again? |
If it is true, good going Ultimo :y: The WWE didn't use him the way he should be used, i hope he goes to the TNA.
|
Funky Fly is going to have your asses.
|
He is talented, but WWE never sees talent dun they?
|
I've got all these videos of Ultimo Dragon (from Funky Fly) and he's one hell of a wrestler. The WWE hyped his debut, he debuted and then they were all like he can't wrestler the WWE style or something
|
I think that he needs to go somewhere else where they can use him right. They are mis-using him in WWE and the fact that he is leaving does not surprise me. I hope he does better where ever he goes.
|
Ultimo is wasted in the WWE.
If he can do better elsewhere, Godspeed. |
Ultimo sucks. He looked like shit in the WWE
|
I've always liked Ultimo, but I don't blame him for leaving, the WWE wasn't using him well at all. Hope he ends up somewhere where he can really shine.

Ultimo deserves better.
He could have made an excellent addition to the cruiserweight division. Course theres no room in WWE for Ultimo or O Haire but theres always room for big fat hairy A-Train -.- |
Poor Ultimo, I guess he never forgave them for not wiping down the stage for his entrance at Wrestlemania, and causing him to slip.
Seriously though, they didn't use him in the cruiserweight division at all except for a few times, so if he can succeed somewhere else I hope he does. |
If wrestlers continue to get held down or underused for not working the "WWE style" then the product is eventually going to seem very bland, regardless of how many storylines or characters the writers come up with. It's not 1985 and an entire company built around mat-based wrestling seems a little dull, especially when fans have alternates like TNA or RoH out there.
Ultimo is a little long in the tooth; so it's really a shame that he fought back from a surgery that everyone thought had ended his career just to make a comeback and waste some of his final years doing nothing for Vince & Co. |
Thank God if this is true.
Yes, he did slip at Wrestle Mania XX but the WWE totally wasted him as the talented individual that he is. He debut against Shannon Moore in a great match, then he was on Velocity for 6 months, then he had a 1 minute 37 second match with Mysterio on SD...... That is some of the worst booking I've ever seen. Even WCW couldn't **** up that badly. |
I just read this at Wrestlezone...
To follow up on my earlier story regarding Ultimo Dragon leaving World Wrestling Entertainment, PW Insider is reporting that Dragon will actually be taking a short leave of absence from the company to tend to business in Japan which most likely has to deal with his Toryumon promotion. He is apparently scheduled to return to WWE sometime in the fall to wrestle. A Japanese source is reporting that Ultimo quit WWE to return to wrestle in Japan with no mention of him returning to WWE, while there are now reports stating that Ultimo will indeed be back in the company later this year. ------------------------------------------------ So, I dunno. I like Ultimo, but he clearly was being underused in WWE bigtime. I hope if he is staying, they will decide to push him. If he really is quitting, then I'm sure wherever he goes, his talent will be utilized. |
Sadly, Ultimo's WWE run will be highlighted by his bumbling Shockmaster-esq fall @ Wrestlemania XX.
And he jobbed to Nunzio in a dark match. What a helluva way to go out. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! |
no he's not leaving he's taking a month off to explore other options. Apparently vince is trying to restrict him from performing anywhere else though.

I think the WWE is well aware of Ultimo's talents, they're just waiting for something. I have no idea what. Jeff Hardy/Ultimo Dragon? Hope not. I wish they'd just wake up tomorrow and say, "Let's put the United States Championship on Ultimo Dragon!"

Anyone who says Ultimo Dragon sucks needs to get some old WCW and various Japanese and Mexican tapes. Ultimo Dragon is right up there (if not better than) Rey Mysterio as far as cruiserweights are concerned. He can work pretty much any style, and has created some great moves (Dragon Sleeper, Asai Moonsault and Asai DDT just to name a few). WWE has wasted him. Just because he doesn't call out to the fans as much as Mysterio during a match doesn't mean he can't get them into a match. A truly great wrestler will have the fans on the edge of their seats with his actions in the ring, not some hand signal or retarded dance. I suggest you guys download Soulseek and then message me (my username is Funky Fly) when I'm online, and I'll add you to my list. Then you can download some of Ultimo's real work, not this watered down WWE bullshit. And as far as Ultimo leaving, good for him if he's had enough of McMahon's bullshit. He'll be a world champ in TNA (or any other promotion) in no time. Even better if TNA gets a tv deal, because I can see him every week, then. If he's coming back, I hope the WWE decides to use him properly and quit wasting time and money. Yoshihiro Asai, I salute you. :y: |
I remember when I downloaded those Ultimo Dragon clips from funky Fly, the best thing I've ever done with my life.

It's not like he lost his mask. |
If he's leaving and can get some better work, good for him. I just wish he and the other Cruisers would be pushed, but Vince has apparently forgotten the Sports part of Sports Entertainment.
|
Go watch some Puroresu, J Cup 95, or anything w/ Ultimo in Japan. His matches with Great Sasuke are amazing.. The guy is a great wrestler..
