"inv": TPWW Online Meet-Ups (Tester Thread)
 

Just testing the waters for something that may or may not be something worth being sticky'd here. Basically major online meet ups, tournys, game launch meet ups, and anything else that appears greater than the usual stuff gets promoted here. Post game, summary, and yes... dates (exact or 'time windows'). In this thread posters can promote meet-ups, posting links to proper threads if needed. Other posters can keep updated and/or discuss things related to the thread.

One could argue merely making such announcements in the game's official thread, but I don't know... maybe this would attract people just swinging by and skimming the thread thinking, "Hey, this sounds cool. I'll be ready for that." Also it would be promoting larger scale occasions.

If it's a bad idea, he'll kill the thread, nobody's betting the farm on this one. I think it would be cool, though.

I had a similar idea a few days ago. Weird.

Basically, sticky a thread titled "TPWW inv: (Game title)(date)" or something like that. The meet-ups would be on weekends mostly. And during the weekdays we can float off ideas of game types to play and "hype" basically. I had this idea when you said you dled Perfect Dark actually.

Also, I'm starting the SSFIV Tourney thread in a week, so there will be plenty to do. This might be a better idea down the line in the summer sometime.

Kinda early for a SSF4 tourny, but with the new lobby in a meeting is lawfully obligated.

perhaps we should make a 'reigning champions' thread as well...seems abit fickle, but its a cool little way of having some recognition for your win. Also, alot of potential smack talking about challenges.

oh we did, its in the MW2 thread somewhere, but i aint combing through the 60+ pages.

truthfully, that alone makes me think a champs page and inv page is worth it

some of these threads dedicated to the games get too big.

We don't need a champs page. Something like this and the thread specifically for the event is enough.

why wouldnt we just have one? I dont think we NEED any page, but if we're gonna run some tourneys, why not give the winners some sort of recognition/forum to be challenged? I bet you most people have no clue who even won the SF4 tourney...i sure as hell dont. Nor did i know who won ANY of the tourneys.

There was no actual MW2 tourny, though we did meet up a lot.

I think its a good idea and would love to participate in some MW2 tourneys at some point. It would definitely make it easier if I knew before hand when everyone was playing.

Instead of a champs page, why not just update the first post of this thread with the latest winner of a specific game?

Honestly, when the SSF4 tourney happens, I am gonna be a pain in the ass to meet up with thanks to my ass scheduling and rampant sleeping problems.

EA has a good idea with the main page having the champs. That being said, due to my dominance over Roxer in 2k10, i declare myself the TPWW NBA2K champion. I'd definitely rock you fucks at UFC 09, but ill wait till 2010 to claim whats rightfully mine.
