R-Truth to have Kenny Gimmick?

Source: wrestlingnewscoops.net

Sources inside the WWE say that after the segment on RAW in which R-Truth was blown up by MacGruber, there is talk of adding a more comedic element to R-Truth's character. Much like the character Kenny in South Park, R-Truth would be killed every episode, but come back the very next week with no explanation. Vince is said to be very high on the idea.

kareru 04-21-2010 03:20 PM

i have no words

VSG 04-21-2010 03:21 PM

Now why couldn't they do it with Batista or Hornswoggle instead?

Xero 04-21-2010 03:24 PM

Mr. Pierre 04-21-2010 03:25 PM

I think it's a pretty stupid idea, especially doing it with someone like R-Truth. I'm not a huge Truth fan, but the guy is way over, so why not plug him into a meaningful program? If they really wanna use this comedy crap, use it with someone who's strictly a comedic act, like Hornswoggle (as VSG said)

kareru 04-21-2010 03:27 PM

i call bulshit on this story

The Jayman 04-21-2010 03:28 PM

NeanderCarl 04-21-2010 03:29 PM

They already did this with Tim White. It's not wise to do it it again.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-21-2010 03:31 PM

This is a great idea. This is especially great in the wrestling industry where wrestler deaths are not a touchy subject at all and have not been the primary source of controversy in the business over the past decade or so.

Next Big Thing 04-21-2010 03:31 PM

That's fucking morbid. Especially the way it comes across on tv.

Basically. Sometimes i wonder, if this is true, what has been going through Vince's head since Mid-2002.

RGWhat316 04-21-2010 03:38 PM

Typical Vince, just now finding out about something that happens on a tv show. I agree that it should be someone else instead of Truth. It seemed he was getting pushed better, so this would be a step back.

Poit 04-21-2010 03:38 PM

Oh my God, you killed R-Truth! You bastard!

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-21-2010 03:47 PM

lol I thought this was programming for children.

Oh well I guess we knew it was all going to hell anyways.

Xero 04-21-2010 03:50 PM

Let's see Linda explain this one.

CSL 04-21-2010 03:53 PM

Meh. He's never gonna win a World title anyways.

Evil Vito 04-21-2010 03:54 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Seeing R-Truth die every week only makes me want to tune in more. Awesome work. :y:

Seriously, it'd be no worse than the Lunchtime Suicide episodes. If anything, the deaths will be far less serious.</font>

Bring Back Bobby Lashley

OH MAH GAWWWWD, YOU KILLED R TRUTH! YOU BATH TURDS!!!!

parkmania 04-21-2010 04:17 PM

And we all remember how much of a push R-Truth received from his Pretty Ricky segments.

Xero 04-21-2010 04:18 PM

He's a midcarder, over and black. That's like the trifecta of not getting a proper push in WWE.

I think it's weird you assume he actually found out about it. He probably thinks it's a fresh idea. You know, like a white rapper or that pirate guy.

Kane Knight 04-21-2010 05:11 PM

Anyway, I doubt this is true, but if it is, I'm sure it will be handled tastefully and with the care it deserves.

XL 04-21-2010 05:17 PM

So, to summerise...

1) Killing a wrestler on TV is a real bad idea given the number and focus on deaths in the industry.

2) Truth is pretty over as it is and WWE already failed with a comedic element in his act.

3) Vinny is TWELVE years too late with this idea!!

THIS!!!

TBH, I'm waiting for the WWE to put Shad, JTG, Truth, Shelton, Kofi, Tarver, Otunga, and Alcia Fox as the WWE version of Fat Albert's Gang.

KayfabeMan 04-21-2010 05:23 PM

Oy.

Plus, it didn't work out very well the last time someone said it.

I'd be more worried that the first time they do this, another wrestler will off himself. :shifty:

ImpactPlayer365 04-21-2010 05:37 PM

Stupid idea, but R Truth is just another bland wrestler for the little ones to scream for. So oh fucking well.

Benoit was a hero for ending that stupid storyline.

Kane Knight 04-21-2010 05:42 PM

Granted, few are willing to sacrifice their families and themselves....

Joesgonnakillyou 04-21-2010 05:54 PM

This has to be BS.

Okay, watch this following clip and tell me that this proposed angle is out of the realm of possibility.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XD4K1MwkXqI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XD4K1MwkXqI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Mr. Nerfect 04-21-2010 06:05 PM

I didn't know it was going to happen when I watched RAW, and my feelings were like this: "Woot! R-Truth is annoying. Thank goodness they blew him up! Wait, why aren't they taking this seriously? This is making me feel a bit awkward. Shit...aren't they going to explain what happened to R-Truth?"

This angle is definitely not PG enough for the WWE to do, either. It could have some pretty decent backlash attached to it.
