New RAW GM

So next week "WWE's headquarters" are going to announce a new RAW GM. Who's it going to be? Rock? Bret? Vickie? Teddy Long? JR maybe? I think that Rock or JR would be awesome and Rock would definitely pull in some ratings for his return. Any other ideas for GM?

Hardkore Kidd J 05-18-2010 10:47 AM

Wait a minute I'm confused. I thought the Permanent Raw GM was all ready decided a few weeks ago. I was almost sure that it was Vickie Guererro. I missed yesterday's Raw. So I'm guessing something went down last night that I wasn't aware of.

last week Orton intimidated her during the main event match and she resigned and ran away

She had resigned at the end of last week's RAW (to save Edge) and Aldrin announced that the new GM will be announced next week.

Xero 05-18-2010 10:53 AM

Or what Jayman said. Either way.

Kane Knight 05-18-2010 10:53 AM

Vickie Resigned? Yay!

TheHart 05-18-2010 10:59 AM

I'm pretty sure at the end of the night the GM will in fact be Vickie. They will bring in someone or threaten to announce who the new GM is, and she will somehow regain the power. I just have this feeling.

However, if they do decide to pick someone new, I'm all for it being Bret Hart :)

BigCrippyZ 05-18-2010 11:03 AM

Granted summer's just getting started but I thought that The Rock was going to come back and be some type of authority figure for the summer. Or has that been canceled and I missed the story?

Xero 05-18-2010 11:04 AM

That was never a plan. He might be coming in to host in Miami, that's it.

Cuse8 05-18-2010 11:17 AM

my money is on it being bret

he'll give up the us title and theyll have a tourny for that..in return he becomes raw gm

XCaliber 05-18-2010 11:22 AM

Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being HBK.

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if we had a Heartbreak GM.

I still think it probably won't be him, but he's not the longest shot.

Swiss Ultimate 05-18-2010 11:48 AM

Wait, is there a real difference between Commissioner and General Manager? Because HBK was Comish right after Slaughter relinquished the job.

DrCrawford 05-18-2010 11:48 AM

hbk being raw gm, and bret being smackdown gm would be cool.

that way shows like bragging rights actually seemed to mean something

BigCrippyZ 05-18-2010 11:49 AM

I wouldn't hate HBK as GM either, though I don't think it's very likely. I'm a huge Rock mark though, so I'd love to see him back for a stint, even if it's not in the ring. Not very likely either though unfortunately, unless Vince offers him a huge paycheck to postpone his movie career for the summer.

No difference to me anyway, which is why I'd much rather it be Hart, JR, or Rock. We've seen the others before and they're tired and boring to me now. HBK wouldn't be quite as bad though because his run as Commissioner wasn't terribly long and he's way more entertaining than the Vickie or Teddy Long.

Schlomey 05-18-2010 12:24 PM

Jake The Snake Roberts. I'm calling it now.

Wolfpack423 05-18-2010 12:25 PM

I will list people that I could see as the new GM: The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Vickie Guerrero(this probably is the new GM), and I know he is in TNA but we haven't seen him, MICK FOLEY.

Madness42 05-18-2010 12:26 PM

I think the thing with The Rock coming back fell through, at least for now, due to movie obligations. I'm sure he will still come back to host eventually when it is mutually beneficial for both of them.

Since Jr's talent contract ran out, unless we see a re-sign, I'm positive it's not him. I think it's pretty evident with the heat she got that Vickie will somehow slither back into her Raw GM spot, I just hope she doesn't linger on Smackdown as well.

Rollermacka 05-18-2010 01:07 PM

Just because there around, I'd like to throw out maybe Dean Malenko, Arn Anderson or even Mike Rotundo as GM.

Shawn Michaels would be...something. HBK is always good, but having him in an authority figure role would be such a tease. I can definitely see the WWE doing that, though. Bret Hart becoming the permanent General Manager is also possible, depending on whether or not Bret wants to sign a long-term contract with the WWE. My heart still wants to see William Regal as GM, and get that heel push he was being built towards in 2008.

RiX1024 05-18-2010 05:59 PM

HBK for RAW GM or Dusty Rhodes.

SOCCER LEGS 05-18-2010 06:28 PM

he retired to spend more time with his family

I don't think it'll be HBK...but in fairness, he'd still be working only once a week as opposed to several months worth of house shows.

Plus they could shoot from his home if they really had to. He could do remotes.

It's not like it's out of the realm of possibility entirely, but it's too early. We'll see HBK back again in some capacity for sure, but not yet.

MoFo 05-18-2010 06:52 PM

VIRGIL 4 GM 4 LYF

Because as we all know, the role of GM requires extensive touring.

...Wait, no it doesn't.

Well, it requires him to show up to Raw every week.

...Wait, my bad.

But it certainly requires him to be in the arena every time.

....Wait.

I'm not going to pretend he's a probable choice, but the role of GM is far from the same as the role of main event wrestling talent.

AHHHHHHH Thanks. I am willing to bet money it will never be the Rock. Hollywood is treating The Rock relatively good. I wouldn't mind maybe seeing Shawn Micheals being the Raw GM again. I don't know if that would ever happen though.

If people still watched WWE in the droves they used to, I'd think the Rock would be a bigger possibility. If they were drawing larger audiences, it would be good to promote his shit. Even if it is the Tooth Fairy. As is, he could probably spend his time much better.

Droford 05-19-2010 03:26 AM

Andy Dick

and then Lovitz will kick his ass and there won't be a RAW GM again. Its going to be a running gag..whoever gets hired as the "NEW RAW GM" quits the first night on the job.

Juan 05-19-2010 03:41 AM

My money is on either Bret Hart or William Regal.

This. He probably wouldn't be on RAW every week. They could tape things in advance, and he could always get someone to "fill-in" for him.

On the topic of The Rock -- I would consider him an improbability to the point of near impossibility. Hollywood is too good. The Rock as a RAW Guest Host/Guest GM is much more likely.

I'll also throw Triple H's name into the hat. I would not want to see it, as I think time away does The Game a great deal of good in the freshness department -- but while he is selling Sheamus' injuries and taking time off for other stuff, the lighter role of GM is a way to keep him on television if he misses the spotlight.

Michael Cole to be the Vince of Bryan's Stone Cold. They will go from designing NXT around him to designing Raw around him... :shifty:

FourFifty 05-19-2010 04:09 PM

Right now my cat, Sugar, has a good chance of being the next Raw GM. When it happens, you heard it here first!

GD 05-19-2010 04:20 PM

William Regal.

Volare 05-19-2010 11:11 PM

JBL. Just think, him and DiBiase could do a faction, and could easily push him to mega heel.
