Jurassic Park IV
"Jurassic Park III director Joe Johnston revealed in an interview in January 2010 that Jurassic Park IV was set to be the beginning of a second Jurassic Park trilogy. He also added, “Jurassic Park 4 is going to be unlike anything you’ve seen.” According to a new interview conducted in 2010 by Drew McWeeny with Joe Johnston on the website Behind the Films, a new script is under works with a different idea behind it. Johnston says once he finishes Captain America, he hopefully will develop Jurassic Park IV with Steven Spielberg. It certainly seems probable that we will see "Jurassic Park IV". Joe Johnston enthusiastically has confirmed the likelihood of the film's production more than once."
Not sure if this is news to anyone, but I thought it was pretty damn awesome as I love the Jurassic Park franchise. |
Why do they keep building Jurassic Parks
I remember when first hearing about this that the story of the movie was gonna involve the Army taking Dinos and equipping them with high tech guns for combat only for them to turn against the army.
That would be so f'n lame if that were the case.
lol dinosaur Terminators
Dino Riders. It's been done.
Bring back Sam Neill |
I love the first movie, but I don't think there's any need for more sequels. I suppose I'd check it out, but considering Spielberg himself only pulled off a mediocre sequel, I think they should just stop.
3 was fun at points, but it was closer to a SyFy channel movie than Jurassic Park. It pretty much just had a big budget and a few better actors |

The first one was great - the rest were fucking awful.
I bet this pile of shit is in 3D - oh yay |
And what way can you present the 'dinos back in modern times' idea that's so different?
Pretty much everyone loved the first one. I liked the second one (though haven't seen it in years), and the third was okay, but nothing special.
If a fourth one is actually made I'll probably check it out for some fun, but come on there's been on-again/off-again news on Jurassic Park 4 for years, most notably the 'Dino Riders' theme someone mentioned above. |
Jurassic Park 9: T-Rex takes Manhattan
That already happened. We still have the option of sending someone back in time to a real Jurassic Park though.
THe dinosaurs hold a talent contest where the winner gets to save JP
I liked all three. But Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies ever. I liked The Lost World a lot too. Jurassic Park III was the weakest but I still enjoyed it. I hope they do make the fourth, and not make it ridiculous.
Are there any series where the fourth movie is not ridiculous? Not rhetorical. I would like thoughtful consideration to this question.
I don't believe there are. But I'm sure it can be done.

Even the best series see dropoffs by the 3rd or 4th installment. I can't think of many good 4th movies. I liked Indy 4 and Die Hard 4, but there are plenty that would argue against that. The best bet for another Jurassic Park sequel would be if all these years later Spielberg took another crack at it, and really went all out with it. It would be best as a spiritual successor to the first, which acknowledged the others but really only followed in the footsteps of the original. All of the philisophical debate about playing god and screwing with nature and genetics was the best part of the original. The dino action was incredible, but the sequels proved that it can only go so far without an engaging story. I'd also like to see Malcolm, Grant and Sadler all back together, and a bit more made of that rival company that Nedry was stealing the embryos for. Dogdson! Dogdson! We've got Dogdson here! |
I think Spielberg is going to produce it. But I'm really hoping for an epic journey if it does happen. And Grant/Sadler/Malcom have to be a part of it. I totally didn't even think about how they could use that rival company in the fourth. That would be sweet.
A Muldoon-like character who had a bit more bite to go with his bark might be a plus. Of course, he should get clever-girled in the end, but not without a bigger fight.
I actually think a story about the rival company Dogdson worked for developing their own Jurassic Park ripoff (with all new suprises) would be the best idea. It's better than the main characters getting sucked into the original park (or one of it's convenient new sites) again. |
ROCKY IV, COOOOOOOOOOOOOOME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON
Never understood how Spitters never made another appearance in either of the sequels. Underrated.
The original characters could be trying to stop the rival company or some shit. And I agree with the Dilophosaurus statement, way underrated and they need to make another appearance.

You'd think that by now they would have just given up on the carnivores, and built a Jurassic Park that only featured herbivores.
Sure, it wouldn't be as awesome, but you'd still make money hand over fist without having to worry about it breaking down into disaster. It beats Yellowstone or Busch Gardens. |
Carnivores are where it's at.
Yea but aquariums get by without Great White Sharks. I don't know how, but they do.
I'm fascinated by great whites. I guess there's gonna be a new show on NatGeo about them.
Tonight, I heard. I intend on watching it
Dang, what time? PST of course...
Great Whites are like the most awesome thing that we know currently exists. I'm fascinated by UFOs/Aliens, Dinosaurs, Time Travel, Ghosts, and all that other awesome stuff, but Great White Sharks are the only thing that awesome that's not extinct or unproven.

Also, I love JP, and felt that the third one was underrated.

There is at least one Great White Shark prowling the deep that's well over 30 feet. Prove me wrong
