And there we have it! Use this thread to discuss which roster looks the strongest, potential feuds, who got shafted, etc. To the bookers, please don't blatantly identify yourselves here. I'll post the free agents list momentarily.

Swiss Ultimate 07-07-2010 01:42 PM

Great work ABT! I'm definitely happy with my pick-ups and it looks like a lot of guys have some extremely strong rosters. Not going to get specific here.

:D

Ermaximus 07-07-2010 01:48 PM

I'd fully be a fan of DWW. :y:

Anybody Thrilla 07-07-2010 01:50 PM

FREE AGENTS (These workers are up for grabs to any of the companies. If you aree an interested booker, PM me the name(s) of the worker(s) you want to add to your company, and I'll assign them to your company. They will not count against your roster number, but you can only add up to three per week of competition. Once a free agent is acquired, you MUST use him on the next show, or he will return to the free agent pool)

SCW could rock my socks..... Untitled looks as though it would do the complete opposite

Evil Vito 07-07-2010 01:52 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Really happy with my roster. There is one guy I figured I'd get easily and I had some plans for him, but someone else must have had either the same plans or have him higher on their board.

Still, quite thrilled with my roster. Got several ideas already.</font>

Anybody Thrilla 07-07-2010 01:53 PM

Yeah, I think SCW and DWW look the best on paper. Loads of potential feuds/great matches there.

BizarroKing 07-07-2010 02:01 PM

All look interesting. I wonder how each roster will use their workers.

Anybody Thrilla 07-07-2010 02:04 PM

We've already had some movement in the free agent pool!

Matt Striker, Taz, and Justin Roberts are now property of Superb Championship Wrestling!

VSG 07-07-2010 02:10 PM

SCW has no ladies while DWW has taken a great gamble here with no former world champions (Except Mysterio). I was really impressed with the list and then I happened to read Rob Terry

Good luck everybody!

Lock Jaw 07-07-2010 02:23 PM

Lock Jaw weighs in with his two-cents:

jWo (working title): A healthy mix of current main eventers, and jam-packed with potential up-and-comers (AKA, NXT people). Desmond Wolfe and The Pope are welcome additions to this "WWE-heavy" roster and should have plenty to keep them busy.

Biggest Challenge: Getting these NXT guys "over". Also using John Cena in a way that will interest TPWW, hopefully without resorting to "turn him heel".

This Is Wrestling (TIW): This fed seems to have a lot of "big men", which could lead to some interesting matches! Samoa Joe vs Undertaker? Sheamus vs Hernandez? Zeke vs Nash? Sign me up. There are plenty of other names in the mix to keep up the interest as well. Beer Money is great as a team, or as singles wrestlers. Christian and AJ Styles once again together.

Biggest Challenge: Ironically enough, what interests me in it, is also their biggest challenge. In a roster filled with big men, you need to occupy them all, while not having them absolutely bury your smaller talent all the time.

Untitled: Another solid roster with main eventers, a mid card, low card, and even some tag teams. Sting potentially sees action against some of the biggest current WWE stars in Triple H and Randy Orton. Potential Goldust/Cody Rhodes angle. Pretty solid mid-card as well with names like Kaval, Jay Lethal, Eric Young etc.

Biggest challenge: The Great Khali, what to do with him?

Superb Championship Wrestling (SCW): Honestly, a pretty superb roster here. A great mix of TNA/WWE/NXT and different attractions. Fantastic possibilities. Angle vs Swagger, Punk/Jeff Hardy reunion, Hardy Boyz reunion #412 vs Young Bucks, Kane vs Abyss in a convoluted story. This roster seems like it will lend itself great to tag teams. Hardy Boyz, Hawkins & Archer, Young Bucks, instead of feuding maybe Angle and Swagger team, and maybe Kane and Abyss team. Tag teams galore. Doug Williams and William Regal team up because they are British? Lots of different ways to go with this roster and lots of possibilities.

Biggest Challenge: With so many possible routes, they need to pick the absolute best one and stick to it.

Dead Wrong Wrestling (DWW): This roster will probably have the toughest time out of anybody. The only solidified main eventer they have is Rey Mysterio. Other than that, they do have some pretty solid talent to work with. I foresee this fed being the "most different" of them all.

Biggest Challenge: Is obviously getting some of these mid-card names over as credible main-eventers. Miz, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, and potentially MVP are probably the front-runners for this task. I'm actually looking forward to this one just to see how they try and pull it off.

Jeritron 07-07-2010 02:32 PM

I did my draft based on ideas that were coming to me. There are a couple guys I wish I got, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.
I plan to make magic happen.

Anybody Thrilla 07-07-2010 02:47 PM

Free agents Raven and Homicide have just found a home in Dead Wrong Wrestling!

Evil Vito 07-07-2010 02:50 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I got the Top 2 names on my priority list, and 6 out of my Top 10.</font>

Jeritron 07-07-2010 02:51 PM

Can we use anyone we want as on-air authority figures?

Sure, unless they're on the free agent list, in which case you can sign them now.

Anybody Thrilla 07-07-2010 03:00 PM

This Is Wrestling has just acquired Josh Matthews, Todd Grisham, and Tony Chimel from the free agent pool!

Use me.

The Pope 07-07-2010 03:15 PM

DWW and jwo

BizarroKing 07-07-2010 03:17 PM

So when do the shows start again?

Destor 07-07-2010 03:22 PM

TIW and SCW are looking REALLY strong on paper. I`d post my full thoughts but the`ve been summed up by lockjaw already for the most part.

Jeritron 07-07-2010 03:57 PM

I forgot that we were keeping shit confidential and I almost posted shit that would have revealed me in this thread

Swiss Ultimate 07-07-2010 04:21 PM

Bad Jeritron! BAD!

Ermaximus 07-07-2010 04:38 PM

I pretty much know who 3 of the 5 feds belong to based on the picks, but I'll keep it all on the dl.

Snowden 07-07-2010 04:42 PM

Damn, SCW has one helluva roster...can't wait to see their feuds/how they manage the undercard...

Joesgonnakillyou 07-07-2010 05:14 PM

Looking forward to this actually, some really good rosters. I'm leaning towards TIW (Taker vs Joe, book that shit!), SCW and DWW. JWO has potential but untitled will have to work hard to get my interest.

Not that it really matters what i think.

Ultra Mantis 07-07-2010 05:17 PM

SCW and TIW look pretty strong and balanced. DWW also has a few of my favourite guys so I'm interested to see how they are booked.

Why has nobody snapped up Don West to work the <s>announce</s> gimmick table yet?

XL 07-07-2010 05:40 PM

Man, I didn't think you'd make the rosters public. There goes any idea that involved a surprise appearance.

Shouldn't change anything if you book it well.

Theoretically, these are all "new" companies, which will usually NEED to release their roster (or at least all the big names) to draw people in for the first show.

Swiss Ultimate 07-07-2010 06:18 PM

I'm almost done with my first show, lol. Bless you OCD!

Evil Vito 07-07-2010 07:40 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I'll start writing my show tomorrow. Just not too sure how in-depth to go with it. I'm not the best at writing promos and I certainly can't write matches word-for-word, but I can certainly do enough to give the reader a gist of what happened and how everything played out.

Kinda like the write-ups I had done for my EWR game until I got lazy and started doing hella quick results.</font> :shifty:

Jeritron 07-07-2010 07:48 PM

Is there some kind of format we're expected to follow. There should be some kind of template or constraints so that we're all working within the same parameters.
I don't know what I'm expected to include and what not. I also don't want to underdo it, or overdo it.

James Steele 07-07-2010 08:17 PM

Untitled better not fuck this up.

My bad. I was just trying to gauge interest from non-participants. Also, I'm showing a lot to the public here so people sort of know what to expect in future seasons.

Oh, but it DOES matter what you think if you vote in the public polls! :y:

I'm basically trying to keep the parameters pretty vague for now just to see how far into you guys are willing to go as bookers. If you're all totally into it and want to ride out verbatim promos and move-for-move matches, go for it...though I don't think all that will really be necessary.

I was thinking about maybe posting a sample show that I write for the hell of it. Would that be helpful?

Paul Heyman 07-08-2010 07:50 AM

I've participated in one of these games before.

Would you like to see a sample of a show I've written in the past, to show the formats that we worked to?

The Pope 07-08-2010 10:09 AM

sure

XL 07-08-2010 11:00 AM

A lot is being made of having "amazing in-ring wrestlers" but this game is about booking the angles.

Would you really give top marks to: *Chris Sabin and Evan Bourne have a 5 star match*? And what what if someone books *The Great Khali and Mark Henry in a 5 star masterpiece*?

NOTE: I am not trying to take away from whoever is booking DWW, I'm sure they will come up with interesting angles to make the matches worth a damn. I just don't get the advantage of having "good workers"...unless people are gonna vote for the show with their favourite wrestler on, of course. Which isn't really the idea.

Paul Heyman 07-08-2010 11:01 AM

http://altfeds.freeforums.org/

Thats the game me and a few mates participated in. It unfortuntaly stopped due to illness of the admin, but, gives you an idea of how we formatted shows and stuff.

I've done a few similar games on other forums which are now down.
