Dear Zack Ryder

Stop wearing normal trunks.

That is all.

Xero 07-09-2010 07:53 PM

You know it.

Poit 07-09-2010 07:55 PM

WWWYKI.

Juan 07-09-2010 07:59 PM

Yeah, looks odd.

Wishbone 07-09-2010 08:12 PM

wait I'm at a loss here did he recently wear normal trunks?

Juan 07-09-2010 08:13 PM

Testicle 07-09-2010 08:16 PM

It does look odd. But it may be that they are trying to make his character 'less silly', possibly for a future push. This is also shown in his interviews as of late which are less catch-phrase filled than before.

Wishbone 07-09-2010 08:18 PM

ah I never watch superstars as for the trunks they do seem odd after seeing him wearing the others for so long..... you know I usta hate his weird hybrid ring-gear before but now I kinda miss it guess it's true what they say 'you never know what you've got until it's gone':-\

Testicle 07-09-2010 08:22 PM

Random thing about Ryder... The guy has been using the Rough Ryder for a couple of years and the guy never got a pin out of it, now in the last month he has won three matches (I think) with it. Possible indication that they are trying to get the move over for his eventual push.

Either way -> More Ryder = Win

The Pope 07-09-2010 08:24 PM

He's an edgehead to me damnit!!

Afterlife 07-09-2010 10:22 PM

There is no need to sacrifice his look simply for a push.

The Gold Standard 07-10-2010 01:08 AM

I liked his look. It was unique.

However, it seems like he is getting a push, and it goes along with my theory:

"The less ring attire you have, the bigger push you will get."

There are exceptions, but for the most part it is true.

Schlomey 07-10-2010 01:11 AM

he is a favorite. Bring back the abnormal trunks for sure. Nothing illin about his brand of chillin.

Bring Back Naked Mideon.

CSL 07-10-2010 01:15 AM

He looks much better.

XCaliber 07-10-2010 01:47 AM

Personally I thought it made Ryder stand out now and if you think the slight change means a push dream on. Until Miz drops the US title which I don't see anytime soon then maybe he could get a good run with that belt cuz I can't see him tagging with anyone one the current roster. He's looked great for years now they just need to find a way to evolve his character in order to stand out and be about the gimmick.

False.

Droford 07-10-2010 03:56 AM

Prob gotta blame flair for less WWWYKI

Funky Fly 07-10-2010 06:02 AM

Nah, this is fucked. That crazy ass ring gear just made him look way more douchy. Perfect for a guido gimmick.

Inadequacy 07-10-2010 06:36 AM

So has he stopped using the Zack Attack? That move was sweet.

RKO'em 07-10-2010 07:14 AM

I agree with the old ring attire says more about his character....wait. I don't give a shit. Nevermind.

RKO'em 07-10-2010 07:15 AM

WOO WOO WOO

The Gold Standard 07-10-2010 11:08 AM

You Know It

thedamndest 07-10-2010 02:03 PM

I like this change. He can be a douchebag without being a punchline.

Afterlife 07-10-2010 06:07 PM

What punchline? The attire made him stand out in the crowd. It was a look unique to him. It's not exactly like wearing a dress in the ring, it's stylized tights.

thedamndest 07-10-2010 07:12 PM

It wasn't wearing a dress to the ring but at the same time it wasn't much better. With Vito's dress there was at least a gimmick to that. This was just different for the sake of being different and I don't think it lent anything to his guido persona.

He "stood out." Difference for the sake of being different isn't enough, though. Unless you stand out for a specific reason, and capitalise on it, it's pointless.

I like the fact that they don't seem to think he needs a crutch. I'm not sure I agree, but that's not the point here.

Fair enough, but Zack Attack>>>Rough Ryder Leg Lariat.

This. I can understand why you would like him standing out, Afterlife, but the WWE giving him more "serious" tights is probably a very good thing for Zack Ryder. The same goes with his change of finisher to the probably easier to take Rough Ryder. The Zack Attack was awesome, but something a bit more gentle could be taken to mean that he's going to be hitting it a lot.

Afterlife 07-11-2010 02:56 AM

Blows my mind that you people sincerely thing unique tights is a hindrance.

Mr. Nerfect 07-11-2010 03:42 AM

Yes and no. It really depends. Goldust wouldn't be Goldust if he didn't have the full body suit. Zack Ryder's still got the same vibe about him -- he just looks more serious about things.

Shadrick 07-11-2010 06:04 AM

Woo.

"Oh Radioooo... tell me everything thing you know."
I can't believe how "1/2 of the Edge clones" has transformed into the Zack Ryder of today. Was the WWE intentionally holding back his talent, or did they really not know that this guy has all the keys to success as a singles star?? And now that he looks and sounds less ridiculous, he can be taken more seriously. :y:

Mr. Nerfect 07-11-2010 10:07 AM

I think the WWE has always known about the talent that is Zack Ryder (and even Curt Hawkins). The WWE put them in a role where they were working with the top guys on SmackDown! (and even played a role in the main event of WrestleMania XXIV), and I don't think they would do that if they didn't think they were at least capable of doing it.

Ryder "gets it." He seems like one of those guys that is always trying to make himself better. He and Hawkins would do those videos for YouTube, even though they weren't called to them as part of their job, and I envision that Ryder had a lot to do with his guido gimmick. He's constantly coming up with new nicknames for himself, to just get himself that little bit more over as a dick. His ring work is impressive, and even if he doesn't always get the biggest pushes, he'll still do little things (like changing his ring attire) to make sure that he's doing something.

That he's only 25 gives me great hope that he'll mature into a huge asset to the company. I could see him winning the United States Title very soon, and even being the guy who replaces R-Truth in Money in the Bank, and really helping that match out by doing something impressive.

Unique tights aren't a carte blanch hindrance. They don't do anything to help Ryder, however, and they make him stick out in a "This guy will be teaming with Hornswoggle" sense.

ron the dial 07-11-2010 11:26 AM

maybe i can actually take this guy seriously now.
