Who's the jerk that spread the rumor about the new TNA angle being awesome? *IMPACT Spoilers*

It was so absolutely fucking awful. Like really awful. I'm done getting my hopes up for TNA. I mean, if you're going to blatantly rip off an angle from the WWE, at least have the decency to make it better or AT LEAST make sense.

So Abyss is going on a rampage on Rob Vam Dam (A FACE, and champion of the company) and then the ECW rebels attack. They're beating the snot out of Abyss, who has been terrorizing everybody in the company lately, and then the TNA locker room empties out to come to his fucking aid?? ARE YOU SHITTING ME?

This was such an easy thing to do. I mean, they're directly ripping it off from the E machine. IT'S ALREADY WRITTEN!! All they had to do was copy and paste it onto their product but they couldn't even simply rip something off correctly either. Are these people autistic?

And why can't the entire locker room stand up to like 7 or 8 45 year old men?

Discuss why this was horrible. Don't tell me it wasn't. Fuck you.

Triple Naitch 07-16-2010 03:48 PM

Sorry, Narc.

Triple Naitch 07-16-2010 03:49 PM

Is there a vid of this?

Nark Order 07-16-2010 03:49 PM

Kind of emotional right now.

VSG 07-16-2010 03:57 PM

Schlomey/TNA just got a few more votes in JotF

- According to those that attended the TNA tapings this week, last night's show ending brawl was heavily edited. Some have called it a "Cliffsnotes version" of the angle. They edited out Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal trying to save Rob Van Dam from Abyss, the segment where Brian Kendrick caused Simon Diamond and Al Snow to side with ECW as well as Abyss' reaction to Foley coming out. Also, the crowd reactions on TV were said to be nowhere near to what they were live.

VSG 07-16-2010 04:31 PM

They showed Abyss reacting to Foley but what I want to know is what happened to Foley after that? He disappeared off tv!

Xero 07-16-2010 04:34 PM

And why did Al Snow look confused about Dixie saying that she invited them?

Fignuts 07-16-2010 04:38 PM

Yeah, I was very confused, tbh.

Do you blame him? So was I- by the whole thing.

blak23 07-16-2010 05:28 PM

and also if they were her guests why take so long to intervene. it just wasn't done well at all imo

Xero 07-16-2010 06:19 PM

From PWInsider:

The big TNA-"ECW" angle aired last night and after watching it twice for my forthcoming Impact thoughts column, I kept wondering why everyone that night was raving about it based on how it came off on television. In asking some of those present at the taping, I was told that the actual angle was edited down quite a bit from how it unfolded live, including Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal trying to save Rob Van Dam from Abyss at the start but being laid out, Abyss' reaction to Foley coming out, a segment where Brian Kendrick caused Simon Diamond and Al Snow to side with the ECW side by going after Diamond, etc. One fan who saw it referred to it as a "cliffnotes version" of the angle and said that the crowd reactions on television were nowhere near what they were live. So, either everyone there live loved it way more than it came across or the angle was neutered in the editing bay. TNA also failed to explain why some of the former ECW guys would side with the Dreamer contingent, but they can always clear that up on the next episode. TNA might be well served to put up the longer, unedited version online or even on next week's Impact. If this is a major angle to sell the next PPV, they should treat it as such, because last night just seemed like a blur of run-ins and fighting, and that's a shame based on how excited so many people were about the angle on Monday.

Xero 07-16-2010 06:20 PM

I don't believe it was the editing.

I couldn't agree more! I had no clue why there were random guys coming out 2-3 at a time, and who was fighting who.

Razzamajazz 07-16-2010 06:27 PM

LIEK OMG TNA IZ AWSUM!!!!!!11!1!!1

UR ALL SHEPPLE FOR NOT LIKING IT!!1!1!111!!1

Volare 07-16-2010 06:54 PM

As soon as those cops came in...I was waiting for a New Jack entrance.

jskinnyg 07-16-2010 06:55 PM

I just watched it... The rest of the show was good... The Ladder match with MCMG's & Beer Money Inc. was off the hook, and then...

ABIG HUGE PILE OF RIPPED OFF DONKEY SHIT FROM TNA... Seriously I am right with you Narc, right fucking with you... That was brutal... And then Dixie.. "I invited them..."

Fucking Terrible...

jskinnyg 07-16-2010 06:56 PM

Editing or no editing, it was horrible...

SaskatchewanChamp 07-16-2010 07:14 PM

LMAO!!!

It has been one fucking show, with aprox. 6 minutes of air time, and you people are writing this angle off already. Are you kidding me? We wonder why the IWC is the ass of the wrestling world.. Wake up.

I don't know where the hell you have been but TNA has been like this for quite some time now. Seriously, a group of 3rd graders could write a storyline and have it more sense than what the TNA writers can come up with.

okay

Paul Heyman 07-16-2010 07:53 PM

Having read about how awesome this was meant to be, I was quite excited by it.

Having watched it, it's came off as a poorly executed Nexus rip-off. And a very poorly executed one at that.

It had oh so much potential, but, like the above have mentioned, it was just a blur of run ins, and fighting, with little explanation, and a really shoddy closing moment, which throws the execution of the angle into even more "WTF?" territory, and not that good "WTF" territory.

Very poorly done. Dropped the ball TNA.

Well, this was planned before the Nexus fuck up one where no one defended the company. So it was a rip off of the original Alliance Invasion.

parkmania 07-16-2010 07:56 PM

They definitely needed to think a little bit more about their editing. Don't show Dixie sitting there with a WTF look on her face only to have her wait 2 minutes to break it up.

lol at Al Snow.

Damn Raven got fatter.

Wolfpack423 07-16-2010 07:59 PM

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed either. I like that Dixie had an on air role, but other than that, I was never a huge fan of ECW anyway. All they'll do is make fun of Vince McMahon which is what TNA always does. The only things I liked about last night were the tag titles match, the knockouts/beautiful people segment not the street fight and the triple threat.

For Your Consideration:
TNA has been planning this angle for months and months so i guess that nixes your nexus rip off angle which in itself is a ripoff angle of a rip off angle

Emperor Smeat 07-16-2010 08:28 PM

The brawl looked very disorganized and maybe its because of the editing ( Al Snow acting shocked after beating up TNA people) or because it seems like they did something similar to a Royal Rumble.

In a rumble a wrestler only knows to beat up certain people but doesn't know about the whole brawl/match. For example, Jarrett comes to stop just Dreamer and Dreamer stops but everyone else keeps fighting like nothing happened while ignoring him.

I'm pretty sure that Dixie meant that she invited Rhino, Raven, Dreamer, and Richards. Al Snow, Brown and the rest only joined them afterwards.

So do I, I only read like the last 3 posts, but let's keep it between the two of us .

VSG 07-16-2010 08:52 PM

I want to rep Al Snow for that, if he ever came here. I liked how he was just aimlessly giving directions to random ECW guys.
