Jericho's Contract Expiring
From the front page:
– In an update on Chris Jericho’s contract status with World Wrestling Entertainment, his current deal — which was signed in 2007 — expires in a few weeks and he has yet to sign a new one. While both sides are negotiating a new deal, it is not guarantee that he will remain with the company. Thoughts? Anyone think he won't sign? |
How is that show Downfall doing?
Oh wait, it was canceled. How'd that last Fozzy album sell? Didn't even crack the Billboard top 200 its first week you say? Hmm.. |
I think he'll definitely stay. All the recent interviews I've read, it seems like he's not hanging it up for a while since he still feels he has tons to give to the business (which he does).
He's got to stick around for at least few more months so that he can shamelessly promote his new DVD. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Yeah, he isn't going anywhere until they milk him for the DVD.
Hopefully they milk him slow.... So slow, and sensually. Every stroke carefully laid to absolutely maximize the output. |

It's not guarantee?

If Jericho leaves... I quit.

Jericho to WWP? :shifty:
Seriously, though, I think Jericho will re-sign. He seems to be having a ball working with the younger guys, and he's been nothing but positive in his interviews about the WWE (although that might just be him being a professional). Sometimes Jericho gets the idea that he wants to do something else, but the WWE gives Jericho plenty of room to explore other avenues, and he wasn't exactly successful the last time he left. The WWE will give Jericho whatever he wants. They've lost too many top stars to not cater to the guys who are just pure entertainment. If Jericho wants to turn face (I'm not saying he does), they'll turn him face. If Jericho wants another run with the WWE Title (I'm not saying he does), they'll probably give that to him, too. |
I hope he re-signs, I don't think I can handle another Jericho hiatus. :'(
10-10-10. Y2-THEY! Just kidding. He'll resign.

Well Jericho in TNA is laughable so I assume he'll stay put.
Pretty sure WWE is Jericho's only option wrestling wise. Could definitely see him go back to doing television if he decides to hang it up again.
He said it himself in an interview that he's looking for time off. And if he does sign, he wants way less dates of work on his schedule.
He also said he wants to focus a bit more on Fozzy.
Fozzy sucks.
I'm a believer that he will re-sign as well but I wouldn't be suprised if he ended up getting a lighter schedule than he used but still enough of one to be a credible champion once again.
he'll probably re-sign with more money and a lighter schedule, after taking some time off.
So to those of you who think he'll get a lighter schedule, are you thinking some kind of Undertaker-like deal, where he doesn't work house shows, and he's not wrestling full time throughout the year? Do you think he has the clout the get that treatment?
Considering that Jericho is one of the top in the company both seniority and popularity wise. I would say that yes he has the clout to get that treatment. I wouldn't say he won't work house shows. But may work less house shows.

SPOILER: show |
Do you need the spoiler tags AFTER the thing has aired?
Some people may not have seen it yet? West coast tape delay? Better safe than sorry dude, don't be a dick.
Wow, I'm really not sure anymore. I can't see Jericho leaving, though. My guess is that he loses and then goes back on his word. Or perhaps even just to SmackDown!.
He will probably lose, take a little time off and come back as a face shortly after. Isn't he taking a month off to tour with Fozzy?
Either way I doubt he's retiring or taking an extending leave. |
I think showing up on Smackdown is a good bet...they're looking to beef up the roster come the show's move in October, and a guy like Jericho would fit nicely in that environment (can slide into the main event and can put over younger talent).
He wins and then loses to the Miz?

On Monday’s RAW, Chris Jericho announced that he will be leaving WWE once and for all if he does not win the WWE Championship in the 6-pack challenge match at Night of Champions. With Jericho’s WWE contract expiring soon and talk that he’s strongly considering leaving the company to pursue his career in the entertainment industry, it appears WWE has begun setting the stage for his possible departure. As of this past weekend, a WWE source stated that Jericho still has not signed a new contract. It’s still entirely possible that Jericho re-signs, but since Jericho has acknowledged in several recent interviews that his contract is expiring and he’s considering moving on, WWE has incorporated the real situation into WWE storylines. Jericho has said he wants more time off to to spend with his family, record music and tour with his heavy metal band Fozzy and pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry. :-\ |
Jericho is going to sign with CZW
If Jericho leaves, we riot!
Jericho is leaving to be the full time host of Downfall. Or be with his band...
No wait, he's joining TNA. But for once TNA will not hype his debut as a "big surprise" |

if he saved his money i can see him taking 6 months off an come back at ether wrestle maina or just after. with trips going back soon this is a good time for jericho to take time off.

He'll probably resign with an Undertaker/Micheals type contract.
